Mr Blue Sky - a cottage that sleeps 6 guests in 2 bedrooms

This modern beach-style apartment feels right in keeping with the white sands and azure waters of Porthmeor Beach which lies just a short stroll from the property.

Beautifully styled, cool and contemporary, the whitewashed interior incorporates an unexpected duo of split levels and high ceilings to offer a light-flooded space that’s perfect for chilling out in. Understated and stylish, there are areas to come together in and spaces to steal away to, with features like two Smart TVs, Netflix included, an Alexa Speaker & Bluetooth Bose Speaker system, Nintendo Wii console, games to ensure that even on wetter days, you’ll have plenty to do.

Flagstone flooring and high-quality furnishings add a luxurious quality, with a sunken kitchen and an open plan living area as well as two uniquely designed double bedrooms, offering a bright sanctuary for guests to retreat to after days spent down on the sun-bleached sands of the nearby beaches of St Ives.

Pets: 2 pets allowed. Please advise the Luxury Coastal team directly if you would like us to host your pet after completing your booking. A charge of £46 per pet per stay/week will be applicable and required before your stay. We will arrange and invoice with you directly upon booking confirmation.

Security Deposit
We ask our guests for a £150 security deposit, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no damage. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.

Great location

Great location for walk to beach and St Ives. Comfortable beds and living space. Large open plan living space. Difficult to heat with one storage heater. Did need a couple of layers and your slippers on a couple of evenings of our stay. Would probably visit again but in summer when weather warmer.

Our wonderful break away

Brilliant location and quirky holiday home.. we loved the bath in our room. Perfect for family’s with dog would definitely book again.

Perfect Weekend Retreat in St Ives

Lovely clean accommodation with an individual, quirky charm, we stayed with our 2 young daughters and my mum and her dog for my birthday weekend, perfect for all of us. Great facilities for kids with the mezzanine games area with Nintendo Wii and plenty of board games. Lovely comfy bed, the sunken one upstairs was a real treat with its attic feel. Great bathrooms and well stocked kitchen. The welcome pack of cream tea, Prosecco, juice, milk and biscuits was a lovely surprise touch. We will definitely stay again.

A nice property. Querky design which appealed. Welcoming of our dog. Very clean and comfortable. One or two bits missing - hairdryer and bags for laundry. Code for rubbish bin didn't work.

Nice

Property was nice,could of been bit cleaner,found that there was a lot of hair under furniture and cobwebs in corners,bathroom was clean bedding was clean,but unfortunately I was physically unable to do much due to a medical condition I’ve just been diagnosed with and we had to return home,so we didn’t stay the whole week.

Best Accommodation So Far!!

Mr Blue Sky is by far the best accommodation we've stayed in, so far. The accommodation was exactly as described. The accommodation was spacious, clean and modern and the location was perfect. There are two bedroom's and an optional double sofa bed as part of the balcony room. Myself and my husband had the bedroom downstairs and my 20 year old daughter had upstairs to herself, which she loved. The accommodation was perfect for our dog and we loved that they had a stair gate, to stop the dog going upstairs. The accommodation is only 4 minutes walk to Porthmear beach and just 10 minutes walk to the town. St Ives was very pretty and picturesque, with a beautiful town and harbour and plenty of beaches. The accommodation and the location was perfect and we'd definitely stay there again.

One or two tweaks needed

It’s great that oven and dishwasher have been replaced recently but it would be good to have the new instruction booklets instead of old ones! The WiFi needs a booster so downstairs bedroom gets a signal, this is a real problem.

They have also passed on their apologies that the user guides for the oven and dishwasher hadn't been updated in time for your stay. This too is now being rectified. Customer Service not so luxury!

I was looking forward to my stay with luxury cottages! We had never been to St Ives during two Xmas and after all their CEO and founder Alistair Mullins states “ We are obsessed with customer service so are super-responsive, so much so it surprises guests. We don't have a call centre and every call is answered by one of the team in less than five rings or we'll immediately call you back. We're open at the weekends and are on hand 24/7 if there's an emergency.” This is so far from truth I reported the dishwasher was tripping the electrics on the first day of our visit, it was not fixed before we left but was fixed for the people renting after us for New Year. On contacting customer Service I did not get an instance response and had to chase. No-0 one seemed bothered by my personal situation just about fixing the dishwasher for the future! And although I was offered a discount off my next booking no-one grapes the fact that I paid for a luxury cottage and did not get one and when money’s tight it’s hard. All I was told that it was my prerogative to leave a poor review. So here it is!

I do have to point out that you may have us confused with another company because we are Luxury Coastal not Cottages. We have limited staff during the festive period and we did explain how sorry we were that we were not able to get the dishwasher fixed for you, we tried as hard as we could but it was not possible. You are free to express your views and we would not wish to stop you from doing so, we felt that we responded in a suitable manner and the offer of the return discount is still available to you, should you choose to use it.
