A bit of history...
The property is named after the Mozambican term Maxamba, which stands for small farm. Our grandfather, Jose Gomes Pedro, who built this property, lived several decades in Mozambique with our family where he became a renowned tropical botanist.
After returning from Mozambique, our grandparents settled in this house and my grandfather continued studying the Serra da Arrabida flora, having written books about it and was the first person to recognize the unique indigenous plant specie, Euphorbia Pedroi, which is named after him.
The property has been with us since 2019 and we want to keep it in harmony with it's natural surroundings, while enjoying it with our family and friends.
