Cosy little cottage

Cosy little cottage equipped with everything needed. Everything was well described. Very clean!Check - in was easy and without any problems.

Comfortable and quirky cottage created out of a vernacular Lake District Granary. Great location plus local cafe, and two pubs within walking distance (best to book ahead for meals at busy times). Parking is on the local lanes but in term time in July it was never a problem.

Break that we needed although the stairs are very steep, would only recommend for the young at heart! Fairly good location, although would recommend going with pre-bought food with freezer packs as the shop opposite does not stock healthy meals or drinks, only serves as a cafe. Excellent walk uphill behind the post office that leads to wonderful views of Windermere. In Bowness tourists can be very argy-bargey as it is far too crowded. Other places are nice but we felt the need to book as we were treated like we had dropped a bombshell when we asked for a last minute table after seeing somewhere nice! Ullswater is very beautiful, take paracetamol for those sore muscle day-afters!

I booked The Granary as a last minute thing as i needed accomodation in the lakes.

I booked The Granary as a last minute thing as i needed accomodation in the lakes. I have to say that it exceeded expectations. Lovely little house. Cafe opposite, views and a couple of pubs . A few minutes drive from Windermere for supplies or dinner. I would be cautious if you have an old big dog as the internal stairs are steep. My 10 year old schnauzer was fine. Most humans will be fine too. Good value
