About The Owner

We spent some time growing up in two different countries. However, not much difference between us when it came to values, integrity and the deep desire within us to serve not only our country but the community. Tony is a retired Police Sargent. Anna is a Social Worker and a Personal Trainer. We both served our communities with passion and pleasure. We met each other later in life and blended our two families. Our children are amazing. We have a Personal Trainer, Social Worker, and a Fireman who serves in the US Air Force. We dont consider ourselves lucky. We have worked hard for what we have and we taught our children to be valuable members of the community. When we met we lived in a small ranch home in Connecticut's largest city. Later we bought a home in another more rural and smaller town in CT. One of our daughters live at the small ranch home and is ready to get married. We have visited Alaska 4 times. We love it there. So we decided to buy property there and retire; however God had other plans. The plans we made made to purchase some property from someone fell through. Much to the joy of our

We then started to search here in New England for our future retirement home. It was here on Lake Hermit that we found our little home in the beautiful state on New Hampshire.

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Why The Owner chose Sanbornton

We love rustic, we love nature, we love freedom and we love adventure. We decided that New Hampshire was for us. We came to look at this property and right away became in love with everything about it. The big backyard than ends at the shore of Lake Hermit and the lake beach just about our side yard. The Central location of the home offers us the opportunity to explore all of beautiful New Hamphire. We bought the home from an elderly couple who decided that traveling in an RV was their next step in life. They shook our hand at closing and wished us well. They told us that we were going to be happy here and that we bought a treasure. BOY! THEY WERE RIGHT. Our first night's stay as owners was an amazing tranquil feeling; The next morning we woke up to Lake Hermit. It was a foggy morning, however with the sun rising and burning off the fog the view of the lake transformed into stunning views of Lake Hermit. It was our first wedding anniversary when we took ownership of our New Hampshire home. We could not even believe that in just one year we were going to own such a beautiful home and be so happy here. We look forward to making beautiful memories wth our family and many friends. We do believe that good things happen to those who work hard and seek out their dreams. As we know dreams can and do come true.

What makes this house unique

The truth is that although we still love Alaska, in the grand scheme of things we believe that New Hampshire is as close to it here in New England as we can get with the support of our children. We love everything about our home. The tranquility that the location offers. A lake that we can adventure on and fish. We also have beach rights on Lake Winnisquam. Lake Winnipesaukee offers us the opportunity to rent a boat, and go tubbing, jet skiing and/or water skiing. The two lakes are just 20 minutes away. Also, great horseback riding just a shot northbound on route 93. The Kancamangus Highway also north on route 93 to Lincoln - beautiful drive.

The fall season is spectacular. What a beautiful time of the year as is the beauty of the winter season. Have you ever seen a postcard with beautiful winter view? It is here at our house that we see postcard like views all year long. We have the opportunity to go to Gun Stock Mountain, just 20 minutes away, for some awesome tubbing or skiing at this beautiful ski resort. There are endless opportunities to explore and experience the beauty of New Hampshire, Vermont or Maine whether it is with friends and/or family.

To start the day with a beautiful sunrise, cook a hardy breakfast and go explore day after day or simply enjoy the tranquility and serenity of our home and relax. We welcome our home to guest after guest. We enjoy sharing our piece of heaven here in New Hampshire with our guests as we move towards our retirement. Every time that a guest visits our home we are pleased to take pride in presenting our home. We welcome and treat all our guests as family and some have become very close friends We welcome you to New Hamphire and to indulge in all it's beauty and all the State has to offer while staying in our beautiful, rustic yet tranquil home.

Charming Lakeside Serenity

  • 5 of 5

There was nothing not to love about Anna and Tony's lakehouse! It was so charming, beautifully decorated and so many little details were thought of throughout. The kids loved the huge back yard to run in. So much fun was had kayaking, we saw a huge turtle, loons, and caught a big fish! Coffee on the deck as the fog cleared over the lake in the morning and then the view as the sun went down- I could have sat out there all day! Plenty of space inside too! The fluffy beds, comfy sofa, great spot down stairs to relax. I wish I had time to use the paddle board and yoga mats! We really loved this home and Anna and Tony are wonderful hosts. We already can't wait to go back! There's so much in the area to do every season and this house is in the perfect spot. We will surely return again (for longer too!) Thank you for sharing your home!

The Birch-Willow Lakehouse was all that and more. Set just off a main road but private just the same

  • 5 of 5

Myself and the 7 other guests that stayed at the Birch-Willow Lakehouse were quite impressed. We are a group of childhood friends that adopted a once a year ice fishing trip about 16 years ago. Growing out of a family owned cottage on Newfound Lake, we were in search of a new location to keep our tradition alive. Anna and Tony’s home was just that for us. Set quietly on Hermit Lake the 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house with a loft was more than we could ask for. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed and shopping for groceries was within a 15min drive. Anna and Tony were so accommodating and helpful through communication about what to expect and affirming that they were just a call away if we needed anything while we enjoyed our stay. We couldn’t have picked a better spot to continue our ice fishing tradition. It was great to have a fully equipped kitchen for cooking and a large floor plan layout for relaxing as a group. We spent the evenings playing card games and listening to music. The view of the lake and surrounding wilderness covered in snow was beautiful to just sit and look at. The natural morning light was nice to wake up to as well. NO ALARM CLOCK! During our stay there were many talks of how nice the house was and that the majority consensus was that we’ll be back again next year. To top it all off, we even caught a bunch of fish! Thank you, Anna and Tony for making your home available so other people can enjoy what you do. We all had a great time and can’t wait till next February.

A magical cabin in a winter wonderland....

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Tony and Anna's cabin for my cousin's 40th birthday weekend. I was the "coordinator" of the event, so I was a bit apprehensive about what everyone would think of my choice once we arrived. I'm happy to say there was not one person who wasn't absolutely in love with this place. The pictures shown online do not even do it justice. The word that immediately comes to mind is "Magical".

All three bedroom spaces were adorned with whimsy ( and really gorgeous faux fur blankets reminsicent of Winterfell in Game of Thrones ;) The openness of the cabin made it especially cozy for family time.

Tony was BEYOND attentive to our needs ( which were very few). He was able to remedy a small problem we had with the heat within a few hours, despite not being local. He was so genuinely helpful and wonderful.

We enjoyed the closeness of Gunstock Mountain, however temperatures were in the negative while we were there! Our time spent together in the cabin surpassed any skiing, that's for sure!

We loved it so much that we are looking to book in the summer, as the views and surrounding property are so gorgeous!

Thank you, Tony and Anna for sharing your wonderful home with us! We can't wait to come back.

This is our second stay! We had such a wonderful and relaxing time. Even though it was pretty cold outside, it was nice to cozy up and watch the snow on the lake. What a beautiful view! We are already planning our third trip back! Thank you again!
