We spent some time growing up in two different countries. However, not much difference between us when it came to values, integrity and the deep desire within us to serve not only our country but the community. Tony is a retired Police Sargent. Anna is a Social Worker and a Personal Trainer. We both served our communities with passion and pleasure. We met each other later in life and blended our two families. Our children are amazing. We have a Personal Trainer, Social Worker, and a Fireman who serves in the US Air Force. We dont consider ourselves lucky. We have worked hard for what we have and we taught our children to be valuable members of the community. When we met we lived in a small ranch home in Connecticut's largest city. Later we bought a home in another more rural and smaller town in CT. One of our daughters live at the small ranch home and is ready to get married. We have visited Alaska 4 times. We love it there. So we decided to buy property there and retire; however God had other plans. The plans we made made to purchase some property from someone fell through. Much to the joy of our children...lol We then started to search here in New England for our future retirement home. It was here on Lake Hermit that we found our little home in the beautiful state on New Hampshire.

Why Owner chose Sanbornton
We love rustic, we love nature, we love freedom and we love adventure. We decided that New Hampshire was for us. We came to look at this property and right away became in love with everything about it. The big backyard than ends at the shore of Lake Hermit and the lake beach just about our side yard. The Central location of the home offers us the opportunity to explore all of beautiful New Hamphire. We bought the home from an elderly couple who decided that traveling in an RV was their next step in life. They shook our hand at closing and wished us well. They told us that we were going to be happy here and that we bought a treasure. BOY! THEY WERE RIGHT. Our first night's stay as owners was an amazing tranquil feeling; The next morning we woke up to Lake Hermit. It was a foggy morning, however with the sun rising and burning off the fog the view of the lake transformed into stunning views of Lake Hermit. It was our first wedding anniversary when we took ownership of our New Hampshire home. We could not even believe that in just one year we were going to own such a beautiful home and be so happy here. We look forward to making beautiful memories wth our family and many friends. We do believe that good things happen to those who work hard and seek out their dreams. As we know dreams can and do come true.
What makes this House unique
The truth is that although we still love Alaska, in the grand scheme of things we believe that New Hampshire is as close to it here in New England as we can get with the support of our children. We love everything about our home. The tranquility that the location offers. A lake that we can adventure on and fish. We also have beach rights on Lake Winnisquam. Lake Winnipesaukee offers us the opportunity to rent a boat, and go tubbing, jet skiing and/or water skiing. The two lakes are just 20 minutes away. Also, great horseback riding just a shot northbound on route 93. The Kancamangus Highway also north on route 93 to Lincoln - beautiful drive. The fall season is spectacular. What a beautiful time of the year as is the beauty of the winter season. Have you ever seen a postcard with beautiful winter view? It is here at our house that we see postcard like views all year long. We have the opportunity to go to Gun Stock Mountain, just 20 minutes away, for some awesome tubbing or skiing at this beautiful ski resort. There are endless opportunities to explore and experience the beauty of New Hampshire, Vermont or Maine whether it is with friends and/or family. To start the day with a beautiful sunrise, cook a hardy breakfast and go explore day after day or simply enjoy the tranquility and serenity of our home and relax. We welcome our home to guest after guest. We enjoy sharing our piece of heaven here in New Hampshire with our guests as we move towards our retirement. Every time that a guest visits our home we are pleased to take pride in presenting our home. We welcome and treat all our guests as family and some have become very close friends We welcome you to New Hamphire and to indulge in all it's beauty and all the State has to offer while staying in our beautiful, rustic yet tranquil home.

Quiet and relaxing cabin!
Clean, quiet, perfect for a NH getaway! Great space and yard for activities. Loved the charm of the loft and rustic cabin feel with all the comforts of home.

Amazing weekend retreat!
We had a wedding to attended in Meredith, and we decided to stay here instead of the $450 a night hotels. What an amazing decision, we had the best time here. The cabin was absolutely adorable, and had everything we could want or need. The best part was the kayaks that they have at the house! We woke up every morning had our coffee on the large deck and kayaked Hermit Lake. Then, we ended each night with a bon fire. Talk about a relaxing weekend!
One more plus is they have a top of the line washer and dryer. So, we were able to do all of our wash before we left!
Best girls week ever!!
We decided to change things up this years and go somewhere different. We found this gem of a place here on Hermit Lake. Once we opened the door it was like a home away from home, so inviting and nicely decorated. The beds are amazingly comfortable. It’s very quiet and peaceful and was a very relaxing week for us. We can’t say enough great things about this place. There are kayaks available so the four of decided to try it for the first time. What a blast we had. We took early morning kayaks around the lake, it was amazing. Anna and Tony are amazing people and so accommodating. Thanks so much for this great girls week!!
Sandy, you and your crew are welcome anytime. We are glad you took in the adventure to kakaying and all of you had a great time.
It was our privilege to be your host.

Charming Lake-front cottage with all the amenities.
This house had just what we were looking for to celebrate the last week of summer--relaxation and plenty of opportunities to connect with the outdoors. The property provided for all of our needs. We loved the availability of the kayaks and explored Hermit Lake daily, watching for the loons. We grilled dinner each night and made several campfires in the outdoor fire pit. The availability of the town beach only a short walk away was fabulous too.
The kitchen was well supplied, and the beds were cozy. Anna and Tony were very reachable and responsive when we had one issue that was quickly resolved. We left refreshed and very relaxed--so glad we came.
Thank you so much! We love to read these reviews. They put smiles in our faces and make it all worth. Running a home away from home is a challenging task at times. Living “only” 4 hours away from the make house and striving to have excellent help, help us to know our guests will enjoy there time here.

Beautiful home we can't wait to go back!!!
I would highly recommend this home! This was our first experience renting a home in New Hampshire and definitely won't be our last. We couldn't have asked for a better home it was very well kept there was no detail to be missed from the fully stocked kitchen, down to every room being beautifully decorated. There was even a gate for the top of the cellar stairs which came in handy with a toddler in the house. The view from the back deck over looking the lake is just stunning. We really enjoyed relaxing by the fire pit at night and taking the kayaks out during the day. The town beach is only a short walk away very clean and peaceful. Thank you Ana and Tony for sharing your home with us. We can't wait to come back and make many more memories!
Memories are what we love for our guests to build during their stay. It really makes us happy to have such a wonderful review and humbly thank you for taking the time to share with us and others of what the house, the Lake, the kayaks and home details have to offer.

If you love mountains and lakes, this is a lovely property to stay at.
I love the beauty of the lake region in New Hampshire. Anna and Tony's log cabin on Lake Hermit was a delightful retreat and a very comfortable home for me and my three adult children. We enjoyed kayaking on their lake, the kayaks are located on their property, and visiting the cute town beach less than an eighth of mile from their front door.
Should you visit their home, please delight in visiting Lake Winnepausakee, the towns of Meredith, Center Harbor, and Weirs, a twenty minute drive, and the White Mountains, beginning with Franconia Notch and Canon Mountain, thirty five minutes away.
