You can fish for trout, splash in the creek and pan for gold -- all in your own back yard! Laze away the hours in the hammock under the shade trees or spend time relaxing in the hot tub while enjoying the soothing sounds of the creek. Sit around a camp fire and roast marshmallows over the fire pit by the creek. Top off the day with a close-up view of the heavens (telescope on site). Enjoy a relaxing weekend getaway, a romantic retreat, or a fun-filled, action-packed vacation.

You will be just minutes away from the famous Tellico Mountains, close to both the Ocoee, the Nantahala, the Hiawassee, and the Nottley Rivers and to several major lakes (Lake Chatuge, Lake Hiawassee, Lake Ocoee, Apalachia Lake, and Lake Santeetlah). You'll be able to enjoy Whitewater Rafting, Kayaking, Tubing, Boating, Hiking, Horseback Riding, and Golf. There are several Zip Lines in the area, and World-Class Motorcycling. You may want to try your luck at our new Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino -- just a few minutes from downtown Murphy. Be sure to pay a visit to the famous John C. Campbell Folk School (weekly events during the Summer). Go Antique Shopping, visit a local flee market, or take a trip on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. You'll be just 2 hours or less from Atlanta GA (world-famous Georgia Aquarium), Chattanooga TN, Knoxville TN, Franklin NC, Ashville NC (Biltmore Estate), Cherokee, NC, (Cherokee Indian Reservation, Museum, Shopping and Casino), Gatlinburg TN and Pigeon Forge TN (home of Dollywood).

Beautiful new furniture in living area, dining area and master bedroom. (New photos soon.)

Our cabin is a great place for a Winter retreat. We get frequent snowfalls (2 to 3 inches) and roads to the cabin are well maintained during the winter months.

Come relax and enjoy -- you won't want to go home!

About Belinda

I bought this cabin as a second home when I lived in Atlanta. After I retired, I bought a home in nearby Marble, on 24 acres. I decided to keep the cabin as rental property. I wanted to enjoy the creek, hot tub, and other unique qualities of the property and also share it with others. It is still my favorite place to go to enjoy nature and relax.

Belinda purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Belinda chose Smoky Mountains

Murphy is close to many areas of interest and is easily accessible year-round by auto, private plane or motorcycle. This beautiful, peaceful area, situated in the Nantahala Region of the Great Smokey Mountains, is unique in its rich history, serenity and beauty. This area is a well-kept secret and a very special place to visit.

What makes this cabin unique

You can dig your own worms and enjoy Trout fishing in the back yard (wading boots and fishing equipment at cabin). Grill your catch just feet away from the creek and eat your catch on the covered deck next to the creek. Then relax in the large hot tub by the creek or sit around a camp-fire and roast marshmallows. Kids can splash in the creek and pan for gold (supplies available at cabin).

We rented your cabin for a short vacation trip. My husband just returned from being deployed, and this was a great way to reconnect, relax and enjoy each other. We all loved being outside. We had great weather all three days and were able to spend it outdoors. Our children loved exploring and going down by the creek. We caught several small fish and like you suggested in your book, went looking for worms for bait. Even with the water being cooler we still did our own version of tubing in the creek. We enjoyed dinner outside and campfires with smores. The hammock and hot tub were great too. The location of the cabin is nice. We enjoyed a trip down to Helen, GA. A cute town to visit. Between relaxing outside, enjoying the sounds of the creek, and your accommodation cabin, we really enjoyed our stay! Just what we needed after a deployment!!! Hooah Army! Ft. Bragg, NC

Best and most elaxing Vacation EVER!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for Christmas 2011 and it was definitely the best family vacation we have ever had!! The cabin was everything we had hope for and more!!! It was so peaceful and such a relaxing place. We were looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life and we found it. We made memories with our girls that they will never forget!! We will definitely be back in the future and cannot wait for that day to come!! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for peace & quiet for a family vacation or even for a romantic get-away!! We also fell in love with the town or Murphy! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Just a beautiful experience all around!! Thank you for allowing our family to enjoy your cabin.

Perfect Vacation Place

  • 5 of 5

My husband and daughters rented Belinda's cabin for our Thanksgiving 2016 vacation. So glad we did. This cabin is perfect, it's exactly what you see in the photos. Awesome waterfront, HUGE deck with table and chairs, comfortable furnishings, nice sized bedrooms and bathrooms, open kitchen so you don't miss out on anything, etc. I could go on and on. Loved how there were boots in the laundry room for my daughter to go walking through the stream. Though we spent all but Thanksgiving Day away from the cabin during the day, nights were super cozy with the fireplace and it threw off an ample amount of heat. I highly recommend. Thank you, Belinda, for letting my family stay at your cabin. Also want to mention that we met the husband and wife management team and they were so friendly and helpful. The husband even drove to the cabin to help us with the TV when my daughter pushed a wrong button and couldn't program the TV correctly. All around perfect 10 experience.

Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin for spring break, which coincided with my daughters birthday. Everything was warm and welcoming upon arrival. The beds were a little firm for my tastes, but my mother loved it. The creek was freezing cold in March, but that was to be expected, and didnt stop us from dipping our toes in it, or my dog from chasing her ball in it. We were also lucky enough to have snow on our first full day there, which was a first for my daughter. It was less than a 1/2 inch, and was gone by noon.

We also had a four wheel drive vehicle, which was wonderful for exploring. Found a few different waterfalls that were great for hiking to.

The cabin itself had everything we needed, washer and dryer with laundry soap, dishes, condiments (ones that weren't there, we purchased and left for the next guest), extra towels for shower, and some specifically for the hot tub. And even a little basket of goodies upon arrival. We couldn't get the fire place working, but didn't call as we used the fire pit most evenings. We plan on coming back yearly for different occasions (Summer, Christmas, etc)

Peace and Quite

  • 5 of 5

Amazing cabin. Very clean and comfortable. We spend 5 nights and wish we had booked it for longer. The cabin has everything you need and much more.

The creek is worth the price of the rental. We had no luck fishing, only caught 2 small trout but I am not much of a fisherman. It was really peaceful just to sit in the backyard by the creek. Our 2 small dogs really enjoyed the water.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. Since I have a guest book in the cabin, I do not solicit additional reviews. When I do get one, it is much appreciated. (I have found that providing a guest book is a better, more personal way for my guests to communicate with each other. It allows for more information than a posted review – things they have done, favorite local places, etc.)

Comforts of home plus lovely amenities

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is ideal for a relaxing getaway. Just bring your clothes and food because this place is ready for your visit. We had a campfire each night, and enjoyed some relaxation in the hot tub. Nothing like listening to a rushing stream while you relax in the hot tub or the hammock with a glass of wine.

We enjoyed some local restaurants- Parson's Pub, Murphy Chop House, Shoebooties. Had some beautiful local drives to see the fall colors. We brought our dog along, and she did cause some damage to some wood trim. We reported it and the owners were understanding.

This cabin is a few miles from Murphy on a winding road, but that suited our purposes to a tee. We went to spend time together, fish a little, sight-see a little, but mostly just relax.

There is a rental house next door. We only saw people coming and going, and never had any problems with noise.

This was my second stay at this cabin. I hope to return.

Owners Have Thought of Everything

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented the cabin to spend a quite week together for our 25th anniversary. We have never rented a cabin in NC before but we new what we were looking for. Something quite, in a small community, nice local fare, friendly area, fishing which I like to do and beautiful view of the mountain's. OH I forgot to mention the hot tub which was something Denise really wanted. The owners have a fire pit to cook by or just enjoy a nice warm fire after you get of the hot tub or a dip in the creek. We'll the cabin owners had all of this covered but much more. We did no need to bring anything except our bags. Located on a creek that does from time to time hold rainbow an specked mountain trout, I did mange to catch four trout in the first few days. (keep in mind that fishing is fishing - fish do not always cooperate. To find a few more I had to set out towards Fires Creek and further up Davis creek. Just go talk to some local people to find out, where to go and what to use. Fires creek is a wonderful place to visit an not far from the cabin. We would certainly rent this cabin again and recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quite place to stay with plenty to do in the area. Great for a family of 4- 6. Romantic, Adventure, sightseeing OH yes and fishing.
