Casteel Branch Creek in South Knoxville - eclectic quiet retreat nestled in foothills of the Smoky Mountains. Parking spot, patio, private entrance, queen size comfortable bed, desk, wi-fi, kitchen with stove/ refrigerator/ microwave/ dishwasher. Sitting room has extra futon. Less than 1 hour from Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, and Smoky Mountains - rural and park like setting, but only 12 minutes from airport, 16 minutes to UT Football and downtown Knoxville nightlife. Hike, bike, kayak, canoe!
Enjoy your time away from home in this eclectic rancher painted in Mediterranean accents of bright yellow, tranquil turquoise and cobalt sea blue making this a happy house! This listing is for a basement mother in law apartment that comfortably sleeps two, but could accommodate 4 people. There is a very comfortable Queen mattress in a bedroom with plenty of dressers and a rack and hangers for clothes. In the sitting room there is a small retro chrome dining room set and one futon with an added 2" Ultra Comfort Advanced Sleep Solutions Memory Foam Mattress Topper and Full sized Medium Soft Support Pad for an extra traveler or two. There is a small galley kitchen with small apartment sized refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave, coffee pot, etc. for your use.
There is one full bath and a small foyer area outside the bathroom with a large lighted mirror and a small dresser upon which you will find a hair dryer and curling iron.
We also have an iron and ironing board.
The Casteel Branch house is located beside a spring fed creek called the Casteel Branch in the foothills of the Smokies. Our yard is a park-like setting. Be sure to take time to enjoy the birds, sit by the babbling creek, rest in one of the hammocks, sit outside on the patio surrounded with shabby chic fairy lights, enjoy the moments you have here in tranquility.
You have a private entrance with keypad to your apartment. It would be most convenient for you to park on the concrete slab nearest your apartment. If you have more than one vehicle - let us know - we can accommodate. However, no RVs or moving trucks - my bridges at driveway entrances can't withstand that kind of weight.
Please note that there is only one thermostat upstairs. Please let us know if the temperature needs to be adjusted. There is a fan and heater available for your comfort, but vents and return are in the apartment that connect to our HVAC central system.
We encourage you to enjoy the deck, basketball goal, creek, outdoor shower in warm months, front porch, and yard (just be aware crawdad holes are throughout yard).
No laundry room available to guests. I do have a countertop washing machine for delicate items and laundry soap if you need to use it. Clothesline is in backyard (clothespins in the drawer where vanity is).
We provide our guests with as much privacy as they desire.

No parties or events. No one but those mentioned in reservation are allowed on property. Two adults maximum.
Check-in time is flexible, but please be courteous and let me know your estimated time of arrival. Check out at noon on day of departure.
I do have a cat that does not live in the guest apartment; however, if you have cat allergies, we recommend you stay at another air bnb. Outside we have crawdads, minnows, frogs, lizards, turtles, snakes, Eagles (rare sighting), hawks, blue herons, blue birds, skunks, Grey fox, raccoons, opossum, coyotes, and occasionally black bears. So your animals need to stay home - we have enough wild things here already. If you violate our strict pet policy, you will be held responsible for any damage to our home.
Private spaces: You have a private entrance. It would be most convenient for you to park behind the house on the concrete pad leading up to a concrete walkway to a concrete basement patio ~ accessing driveway from Widow French Lane. You can access your room from deck (small stone steps and a small rise of wooden stairs to access. Sorry we are not handicap accessible.). We encourage you to enjoy the patio, outdoor shower in warm months, and yard (just be aware crawdad holes are throughout yard). Wi-fi available.
Upstairs we have a guestroom for air bnb guests. Please be considerate on noise levels. No laundry room available to guests. Please be respectful and understanding of others staying at our home.
Please hang your towels in bathroom and use coasters. Please place all used sheets and towels in shower before departure.
All trash must be left in a bag by door - or tied off and placed in trash cans behind garage.
I do have a grinder sewage pump that could clog or have motor issues if the following are placed down any drain or toilet:
grease, ashes, disposable wet wipes, cigarette butts, clothes dryer sheets, condoms, latex gloves, cotton swabs (q-tips), dental floss, diapers, paper towels, panty liners, plastic bags, sanitary napkins, tampons, or any other solid, semi-solid objects. Pump replacement runs around $4,000. I just had a new one installed August 2017. Please help me keep this one working. Thank you!
