We disassembled an 1850 vintage log house and moved it a mile and reassembled it on our 163 acre farm in middle Tn . Just 50 miles west of Nashville. We added onto it and took us two yrs to complete the project. We used all reclaimed wood on the inside . It is one of a kind and a very unique property with chestnut oak and poplar thru out the house. It is now ready for rent. It sets above a creek, with easy access. Private 163 acres of woods with bicycling and walking trails. Be one of the first to experience the history of these old handhewn logs . Enjoy our huge outdoor fire pit. We cut the wood . You light the fire!!!!

About Jerry crawford
We are retired bankers from Nashville.
Jerry crawford purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2014
Why Jerry crawford chose Houston County
Old house was on the property when I bought it, so I moved it to save and restore. It is one of a kind with so much detail in finishing the home. Decorating it was a blast according to my wife. Watch out for the brown bear standing in the dogtrot.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
Private 163 acres to explore. Joins a private 2000 acre game preserve . Visit old house site where the cisterns still intact with cold spring water running 24 hrs a day. Set in rocker on front porch with a glass of wine and chill out while sun goes down and watch kids play in the creek. Very serene.

Rental Cabin Retreat
Jerry and Janice met us at the cabin when we first arrived. They were such gracious hosts; welcoming us with a roaring fire in the fireplace and lovely Christmas decor to complete the picture. They gave us a quick tour of the cabin and included historical detail behind the cabin's construction and what was required to relocate the cabin to its current location. We were enthralled!
Jerry took some time the next day to give us a tour of the 160+ acres of land. They made us feel right at home. My wife and I enjoyed spending the next several days in complete solitude with only the local wildlife and the beautiful scenery. The cabin is very well kept and has all the modern amenities. They spared no expense in making this an oasis!
My wife and I will be repeat customers and hope to three-peat sometime in the near future. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway to recharge, look no further!

Ha. thanks again see you in 2019. Good fishin in Yellowcreek after mid April.
I didn't want to leave!!!
This property and the owners met and exceeded every expectation. You can't describe how much charm this cabin offers. We had no issues during our stay but still the owners let us know that they were always ready if we needed anything. We came to visit my daughter & son in law who is stationed at Ft Campbell for Thanksgiving. This was an important visit for our family. I am so glad we chose to stay here. There were 6 of us staying a week. There was plenty of room. Everyone loved their comfortable beds. The property has everything you need. Loved seeing the turkeys and deer. We have been fortunate to share many vacations as a family. This is definitely one of our favorites. The photos don't do the cabin justice. Can't wait to return. Thank you Jerry! God bless!
Bro. You too nice we really enjoyed your family and spending time around the outside fire pit with y’all was priceless including the good news abt the new grand baby congrats again. Thks for leaving the place so clean. Please tell all thank you and please come back . Again I appreciate his and your service. Jerry and Janice.
Beautiful cabin with fascinating history
We recently stayed at this location and enjoyed our time immensely. The house and property are beautiful. The history behind the house and the area overall is also quite interesting. If you are into hunting, fishing or just exploring you will find plenty to do right on this owners property. As far as accommodations there are plenty of beds if you have a lot of children coming. There is only one main bedroom with bath for privacy and the loft has one room you can shut the door to with two singles so keep that in mind when it comes to having multiple couples. Also as a public service announcement for all travelers no matter where you stay, always buy travelers insurance in case you have an emergency health issue. That will definitely save you from taking on all the cost if something was to happen.
Bro, thanks for the good review. We enjoyed having y’all here. Thank you for choosing here to spend your time spreading God’s word. Throughout our county. Please come back again soon..
Amazing location, away from the crowds and a wonderful cabin to call home
I booked this trip for my family that spread out over 4 generations. Jerry and his wife went above and beyond any expectation I could have imagined to make my family feel welcomed and taken care of as I was not able to accompany them on this trip. It was intended to make memories, but from the stories I heard it did much much more than that.
The cabin itself is a master piece of fine craftsmanship that can be appreciated from the outside to the inside, down to the smallest detail. The porches, the fire pit, the decorations, the landscaping, the trails to explore, the spacious accommodations were unlike anything you will ever expect. The feeling of being home while on vacation becomes a given at this magical place and you don’t want to leave. In fact, it was said that the eldest member of the generations could live out her remaining days here and would be better prepared for the glories that heaven has to offer, cause it felt like she was already in heaven by the end of the trip.
Not only was the place itself wonderful, but you get the entire package with the attentiveness of the owners. This started out as a last minute trip to end the summer, it became so much more. We will be back!
Sherry, thanks so much for the great review. Janice and I felt like we were part of a family reunion.. you have a lovely family even down to little Reggie who was an adult in a three year old body. . We enjoyed them so much. Can’t believe they got so much done in such a short stay . From visiting Loretta Lynn’s farm to riding our Mule all over our 163 acres to antique shopping and to enjoying the outside . Firepit and cooking Reggie hot dogs and marshmallows. On the pit. Tell Abie next time she needs to come a day early where she can help me cut firewood. Again thanks for visiting us and we’re glad they all had a great time . Enjoyed Grandma telling her stories about the old days. We had so much in common. Please come back and bring hubby . We can look for Indian artifacts. And talk hunting. Thanks again. Jerry and Janice.
Comfortable and Beautiful Restored Cabin in a Peaceful, Natural setting
This place is an amazing place to stay whether for a couple, a family or a group of up to 10 people. Its an old renovated and restored log house that is very authentic and has a lot of character, comfort, and charm. Every detail is taken care of from the TV's with lots of movie and cable stations, to a washer and dryer to the fully equipped kitchen, the owners Jerry and Janice have paid attention to every little detail which will make your stay a very memorable one.
The grounds are well kept and there are deer and wild turkeys on the property, lots of trails, and a creek for the kids to swim in. The front porch has a swing and a hammock. You can relax or hike, or take the "mule" out for a spin. There are 3 full baths and the beds are very comfortable. What I thought was very interesting was all the taxidermy animals on the walls and everywhere, quite cool to see them all and try to figure what they were... The owners are very accommodating and stay only a mile or two away should you need anything. Overall this is a great deal for a week or a weekend getaway.
