Welcome to Harlyn Bay Cottage, a beautifully appointed coastal retreat in one of North Cornwall’s most sought-after locations. Harlyn Bay is a paradise for families, surfers and dog owners alike, with year-round dog-friendly access, a popular surf school, beach cafés and breathtaking coastal walks right from your doorstep. Leave the car in your private parking space outside the front door and enjoy everything Harlyn Bay has to offer on foot, including The Harlyn pub and restaurant, local shop and the renowned Pig at Harlyn Bay.

After a day on the beach, return to your comfortable home-from-home. Our best trip to Cornwall yet!

We have been to Cornwall quite a few times over the years and find it hard to find a place that suits us all. This property is fantastic. Right on the beach and close to everything near by. Our young children have additional needs and they absolutely loved it. We were able to explore and come back to relax. We will be booking again.

Just what we wanted

We stayed here for a week in early July (my parents, me, my two children and my dog). The house is lovely - very well equipped and nice decor - and in a brilliant location for Harlyn beach. We didn’t go far during the week. There are a couple of beach restaurants at Harlyn for burgers and pizzas, the Lobster Shed at the Pig, and shops for groceries in St Merryn up the road. We had some surf lessons and did some lovely coastal walks. It’s v close to Padstow if you want to mooch around a town. We also had a lovely meal at the Prawn on the Lawn pop-up at Barnabys on a vineyard 10 min south.

Harlyn Bay Cottage has been a much-loved holiday home for over 14 years. We became its proud owners in 2022 and undertook a complete refurbishment in 2023, carefully redesigning the cottage to create a stylish, comfortable and relaxing coastal retreat that we are delighted to share with our guests.

We first discovered Harlyn Bay in 2021 and immediately fell in love with its beautiful beach, relaxed atmosphere, fantastic restaurants and wonderful community. It wasn’t long before we knew this was a place we wanted to return to time and time again.

Today, we spend many happy weeks here with our three children and Millie, our Cavapoo, making memories on the beach, enjoying the coastal walks and experiencing everything that makes this special corner of Cornwall so unique.

We hope that when you stay at Harlyn Bay Cottage, you and your family will fall in love with Harlyn Bay just as we did and create memories that bring you back year after year.

We chose Harlyn Bay because it offers the perfect combination of a spectacular beach, a relaxed coastal atmosphere and some of the very best food and drink that Cornwall has to offer.

There is something truly special about being able to leave the cottage and be on the beach within a minute. Harlyn Bay is one of the few Cornish beaches that welcomes dogs all year round, meaning your four-legged family members can enjoy the sand and sea in every season, unlike many Cornwall beaches that have summer restrictions.

Whether it’s an early morning swim, a surf lesson, a coffee overlooking the sea, rock pooling with the children, or a sunset dog walk along the shoreline, Harlyn Bay has something for everyone.

The area has an incredible food scene right on your doorstep. Enjoy drinks, meals and music at the new Harlyn Inn, coffee and beachside treats from The Beach Box, the famous Big Pan Parties, and a special meal at The Pig at Harlyn Bay – all within easy walking distance. The beautiful harbour town of Padstow is just a short drive away, offering renowned restaurants, independent shops and a vibrant atmosphere.

For us, Harlyn Bay captures everything we love about Cornwall – stunning scenery, a slower pace of life, exceptional food and unforgettable family memories, which is why we fell in love with it in 2021 and continue to return whenever we can.
