Beautiful Apartment Wonderful Location

Super clean, well-equipped apartment just a few minutes from the train station and Mannlichen gondola. Perfect place if you want a jumping off point for hiking around the area. Clare is a kind and personable host and available for any questions. View out of the living area is stunning. Beds super comfortable and there are even hiking sticks provided if you didn’t bring your own. Unit was spotless! Thank you Clare.

What a View!

Chalet Aberot faces the spectacular Lauterbrunnen Valley which just overwhelms your senses. The apartment is as shown and Clare, the owner, is quite personable. The location is very quiet even though the regional train runs very near the unit. We never were bothered by the train during our 9 day stay. Perhaps a few fuller bed pillows could be added, but otherwise no suggestions. We slept very well. A 5 minute walk to town or the train station was quite convenient. Wengen was a great starting point for many hikes and we were happy to have found Chalet Aberot.

25 Anniversary Trip

Chalet Aberot is beautiful, well stocked, provides amazing views and is incredible charming! Clare has provided EVERYTHING you could need and makes her guests feel like family. Our flights were very delayed, but when we finally arrived there was a bottle of champagne and Swiss chocolates to greet us. Lifted our mood immediately! Clare helped with dinner reservations, and provided us with a delicious tray of breakfast goodies. She even went out of her way to help us get our lost luggage back! She was so kind and helpful and has spoiled us for any other VRBO experience. Thank you so much, Clare, for all your generosity!

The chalet was amazing. A short walk to the train station and the village in Wengen. Great communication with the property owner. Amazing view from the balcony, quiet and relaxing place. They had a binder with all the information you need for the area and more.

The Perfect Holiday Flat!

We loved our stay in Wengen - the location is beautiful and ideally located in the Jungfrau region. Clare is a wonderful host and this was my favorite vacation rental I’ve ever stayed at. It is a clean, comfortable, has a beautiful view, and lots of small touches that help make your trip more comfortable. Thank you Clare!

Doesn't get any better than this!

This is a fantastic chalet with an unbelievable view. Clare is the ultimate host. If you're looking to spend some time in the mountains in the Bernese Oberland area, I can't imagine that you could do any better.

Fabulous

Very nice property. Strongly recommend for a short or long stay. Clare was very welcoming. She even gave us full bag of toys for my kid. Location and the view from the room was amazing.

Beautiful Appartment in a stunning location

We spent 4 nights in the Chalet Aberot and enjoyed every second. The appartment is perfectly located 3 minutes of the center of the village. It is equipped with everything you could possibly ask for and is furnished and decorated with lots of love. Clare is a friendly and welcoming host. We hope to be back soon - thanks Clare!

Wonderful stay in Wengen!

My husband and I had a wonderful 4 days in Clare’s perfect, comfy chalet condo in Wengen. Clare met us with a big smile and a cold drink when we arrived at the condo...just a short walk from the train station. We knew the views were rated excellent by everyone but even so we were not prepared for the stunning site from the balcony! Could not get enough of those mountains and the valley below. We easily walked from this perfect location into town or to the train station. The hiking in this area is amazing...so many great trails nearby. The condo had everything we needed including a washing machine...a real luxury after staying in hotels! Highly recommend staying here!

Best Views in Wengen!

Clare was the most accommodating host I’ve had using either VRBO or AirBnb. The view of the balcony captured all of Lauterbrunnen and the opposing mountainside to Wengen. I, along with my friends, favorite thing to do was simply drink wine on the balcony in awe of the beautiful world around us.

Wonderful Holiday Flat

As advertised, incredible views, flawless check-in with bottle of bubbly and small treats when we arrived, nicely appointed and updated with plenty of storage. Very clean, quiet and peaceful. Would stay again!

My adult son and I stayed at Chalet Aberot in August and it was a great place to stay. The views from the flat were spectacular! The flat is super clean and modern. The kitchen had everything necessary including multiple coffee making devices which included my favorite, a Nespresso machine. The bed was very comfortable. The airlines had lost my luggage for 3.5 days but because the flat had everything I needed from toiletries to a washing/dryer machine, my lost luggage was not a problem. Clare was a wonderful, helpful, and attentive hostess who loaned me warm clothing for my hike in Jungfrau which I didn't need because the sun was out and no wind on the day we hiked "The Top of Europe". She also had two sets of hiking poles which were perfect for me and my 6'3" tall son. We did everything including hiking, biking, paddeboarding and paragliding (which I highly recommend, not scary or difficult at all and the thermals are perfect for a wonderful glide, use Airtime Paragliding). At night, we watched movies from a great selection of Clare's DVDs. Easy/quick train access to Murren, Lauterbrunnen, Gimmelwald, Interlaken, Schilthorn and Jungfraujoch. I would choose a stay in Wengen over the other close towns because it is less crowded and receives more daily clear sky and sun due to the location amid the mountains. Also has a local Coop for groceries. Did I mention the cows and goats with their sweet Swiss bells ringing a quintessential Swiss chorus below the chalet each morning?

Charming apartment in great location

We loved this apartment in Wengen. It was in a great location - about a 10 min walk from the train station (flat/downhill going to the apartment - flat/uphill going back the station). The place is charmingly decorated and has every amenity including a washer/dryer. The view from the balcony was awesome. We highly recommend it.

Excellent Stay

We stayed at Clare's chalet for 12 nights. We loved the chalet and of course the wonderful view. The chalet was spacious, extremely clean and well kept. The kitchen had everything that we needed, the bathroom had plenty of room and the bedroom had a lot of hanging area and draws. Wengen was a fantastic place to stay and it was easy travelling in the immediate area and beyond. Clare was very helpful before and during out stay.

The place is ideally located close to the main part of town but also conveniently tucked away. Views are spectacular. Property is modern and well equipped. We were well looked after also - this is very important to us when we travel. We love the place!

Gorgeous and cosy chalet with a splendid view.

We have stayed in Wengen and Murren many times and always in hotels. Self catering in a superb chalet with a stupendous view to boot is definitely the way to do it. Chalet Aberot is beautifully furnished with a lovely little kitchen and dining area, although dining on the balcony is compulsory to soak up the views. The bathroom is great with plenty of clean towels and the shower had plenty of hot water. Clare the owner greeted us on arrival and was on hand if ever we needed any help with local information. With only a five minute walk from the station and shops the chalet was in a quiet residential area of Wengen. After the days exertions what better than to sink into the large and very comfortable bed and dream of the next adventure. We would not hesitate to book this chalet again and recommend it to all of our friends and family. Thanks Clare for a great stay.

Fantastic Views, Location And facilities

Wonderful

The apartment is spacious and modern but still very Swiss. The large balcony has a magnificent view. The apartment is very quiet. The only noise is the cogs on the trains going by but you quickly get used to that. Clare is a wonderful host who is very helpful if you need it, and will leave you to your own devices when you want privacy. Wengen is a wonderful place, and this is the place to stay.

All Around Wonderful Experience

We have stayed with Clare on numerous occasions, though this is our first stay at her new chalet. While the location has changed, the view is still fantastic and Clare is still as warm, welcoming, and helpful as ever. She knows how to be available and helpful (providing recommendations for hikes, restaurants, etc.) without being intrusive. You can tell that she genuinely wants her guests to have the best holiday possible. The holiday flat is immaculate and has everything you could possibly need, including a nice kitchen and a washer and dryer, which come in extremely handy. However, our favorite part of staying at Chalet Aberot is coming back to the flat after a day of hiking and relaxing by sitting out on the balcony and watching the sun go down. We can’t wait to return to Wengen and Chalet Aberot!

Already planning our trip back

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Clare's flat! We are already planning our trip back, but next time for a week! We were on a 3-week trip through Switzerland and Italy and Clare's place was the most inexpensive and the best value. We loved having a separate bedroom, nice bathroom, sweet balcony, and full kitchen. We cooked many meals there and always found what we needed. The two grocery stores in Wengen had all the ingredients we needed for our stay. Don't be afraid of going in May - not all upper elevation trails are open, but we still did plenty of hikes and saw more wildflowers and waterfalls than you can imagine. We even woke up one day to an unexpected beautiful snowstorm. Our only regret was not having time to visit with Clare. We will definitely do that on our next trip! Thank you for everything, Clare - we have wonderful memories of Wengen.

Wonderful in every way

I've stayed in the Berner Oberland 5 times previously, in a different town each time, selecting Wengen this time for the fabulous views and location that I had seen on prior visits. This fabulous vacation rental has the best views overlooking the mountains, valley, waterfalls, and alpine meadows that I've found anywhere. All are just as in the listing. On arrival, even having seen Wengen before, I just had to sit on the balcony and absorb the view, the sounds of bells on the cows and goats, and the fresh mountain air. The condition of the apartment was perfect, perfectly clean, new and well equipped with everything I needed (and more!). Clare did everything possible to make my stay enjoyable and to make us feel at home. This included before arrival with advice, checking up on my arrival, and during my stay with an invitation to stop by for drinks at a party at her home (right in the same building), and with advice on what to do during our stay. This included advice on a discounted admission to the Trümmelbach waterfall on a rainy morning with a Wengen visitor card that she provided (and where I found her friend working at the entrance). Clare was a wonderful hostess. This stay was the highlight of this trip, and of all my visits to this area. I would most definitely recommend this property, and hope to return again! I really think, after multiple visits to the region, that this chalet is the best place I could find anywhere!
