Below the pink granite turrets of Semur en Auxois, is The Moulin. Sitting in 5 acres of grounds, nestled between the Armançon river and its wooded banks, with heated swimming pool to the rear, The Moulin offers a unique and tranquil location which will leave you feeling restored and inspired by the beauty of nature.

The converted mill building with its traditional stonework, pretty blue shutters, and home for your stay sits next to the water’s edge. To its front is a tree lined meadow. To its rear, next to the orchard, is the 14m swimming pool, with sun loungers, showers and changing facilities.

Relax on your terrace with a glass (or two) of local wine, choose a shaded spot under the trees with a good book, or lounge by the pool. The choice is yours.

Recently renovated and comfortably accommodating four adults, the 85 m2 (916 sqft) ground floor apartment provides an open plan dining, lounging and kitchen area plus an outdoor terrace with relaxed seating. To sleep, there are two bedrooms: one king with an ensuite and one twin with a separate bathroom. Care has been taken to ensure your utmost comfort, with anti-allergen bedding, luxurious throws, 800 gsm towels, and premium toiletries containing essential oils.

We had an amazing time here. The host was responsive ahead of and during our stay. The property was clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped - nothing was overlooked. We virtually had the pool to ourselves for the whole week (mid August). The location was gorgeous, quiet and just far enough from the town centre to be peaceful but close enough to walk in and buy fresh bread and pastries every morning. The town itself was very quaint with lots to explore on foot, but with a good-sized supermarket a short drive away. The only issues we had were related to the opening times of restaurants - it’s easy to get caught out if you’re expecting to just walk in without a booking, but that’s easily sorted with some planning ahead and not the fault of the property. All in all we had a great time. Missing it already!

Sunny Semur-en-Auxioa

We were really happy here, one week of beautiful in one of the most picturesque places we have ever stayed. The property was comfortable and well equipped. Note, no TV and a a set of tongs and salad serving utensils would have been handy as we cooked in the otherwise well equipped kitchen most evenings. Being on the ground floor, the floor was cool which was helpful due to the warm weather as the apartment stayed cool so we returned to a comfortable environment each day. The outdoor area has a lovely view however it is on the common driveway so all neighbours pass by when parking. We had no issues with any neighbours, the Moulin is tucked away so only people with legitimate access will be around the common areas. A lovely stroll in any direction from Le Moulin to the centre ville and as we had a car we explored many villages close by and lunched most days at very good quality bistro’s and Brasseries. The online pictures do give an impression that the place is larger than it actually is however it is still very comfortable for four adults as the two bathrooms helped make our stay that bit more accomodating. Liza was responsive and very helpful.

Splendid venue at the foot of a fortress city.

Comfortable five star apartment along the Riverside. Splendid vue on the mediëval town of Semur. Excellent starting point for visits to the North and South Bourgogne.

Wonderful holiday.

This is wonderful ground floor apartment in an old mill. It is beautifully furnished. The grounds are lovely and spacious and our children loved running around in the woods up the hill and playing in the pool. Also, seeing the herons in the weir. The town is lovely with all the amenities you could require. Burgundy also has a great deal to offer. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. No rowdy crowds of tourists here. We loved visiting Dijon, the Abbey and Alesia Roman site. The internet was also extremely fast.

We had a wonderful stay here, beautiful cottage, stunning scenery, located right on the river. Semur-en-Auxois is one of the prettiest villages in France, plenty of restaurants and little boutiques. Highly recommended

Idéal en famille, au calme et très confortable

Logement neuf, très fonctionnel, moderne et surtout avec équipements au top : draps et serviettes de qualité, ustensils de cuisine très complets, avec les ++ : sopalins, torchons, éponges, sous-plats, bref tout y est (à part les nappes !). Excellente literie. A savoir : pas de TV mais bonne wifi. Terrasse au RDC avec vue sur jardin et rivière (comme sur les photos) très reposant et calme, vue magnifique à 15 min à pied (ca monte !) d'un village typique à flanc de colline. Piscine un peu 'froide' mais agréable et propre. T bonne communication avec la proprio qui n'est pas sur place mais ok par whatsapp. Très difficile d'accéder au logement, les navigateurs vous font prendre des chemins improbables qui tournent en rond, demandez avant le meilleur itinéraire pour éviter le dédale de chemins et sens uniques accédant à un village aux rues étroites. Je recommande vraiment ce logement.

Excellente prestation!

Excellent séjour! La piscine est grande, très bien exposé et propre à notre arrivée! Ce, à notre plus grande joie car le temps était propice au farnienete familiale autour de la piscine… !! La location est suffisamment grande pour une famille de 4 personnes, nous avons apprécié qu’il y ait 2 salles de bain et que les chambres soient spacieuses. La proximité de Semur intra muros est également un plus pour aller diner à pied depuis la location. Nous n’avons pas relevé de points négatifs et retournerons certainement passer quelques jours dans cette charmante location!

Very nice hideaway in the hart of SEMUR-EN-AUXOIS. Swimmingpool is in the shadow and outdated. Tip: reserve restaurants in advance!
