Fantastic 1 bed Apt with heated pool/sauna/hot-tub/gym

This fabulous apartment is part of the luxury Estrela da Luz Resort with a sea view from the lounge, bedroom, and kitchen.

Included in the rental is the free use of the indoor pool, sauna, hot-tub (all heated and working all year round), gym, tennis court, 3 outside pools (heated mid Apr to mid Oct) and underground parking.

Estrela is situated in a quiet location in the centre of Praia da Luz and just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, restaurants & shops. (Rental License -98040/AL)

The apartment is luxurious and stylishly furnished and offers many special features:

- Large double bedroom which can be set up with a king size double bed or 2 single beds.
- Living room with dining/TV areas.
- Modern kitchen with Nespresso & filter coffee machines, dishwasher and washing machine.
- Twin sink bathroom with integrated shower/bath.
- Up to 2 full size extra single beds or baby cot(s) can be added in the living room or bedroom for additional children or adults, up to a maximum occupancy of 4 people.
- 2 balconies (1 with a table and chairs & one with 2 sun loungers)
- Air-conditioning for cooling or heating is also fitted.
- There is a 65”/165cm smart TV with a paid Netflix account set up for your immediate use and a full range of international channels.
- High speed Wi-Fi.
- A bookcase (feel free to take any books home)
Free underground parking space.
- One of the outside swimming pools is for babies and toddlers (45cm - 60cm deep)
- In addition to the inside and outside pools, hot-tub, sauna & gym there is also a beauty treatment spa (please check availability prior to booking), access to a multi-purpose pitch for football/basketball as well as beautiful gardens in the resort.
- ‘Chiccas‘ is the main restaurant in Estrela da Luz and during the summer months there is also a pool bar open, serving drinks and snacks.

Lastly, the apartment's windows and balconies face onto the sea and are therefore not overlooking the pools/bar/restaurant areas, which makes it a very quiet location within the resort.

The internal size of the apartment (not including balconies) is 88 Square Metres / 950 Square foot.

Estrela is a fully gated complex which makes it extremely secure and child friendly.

There is a 24 hour/365 days reception, where staff will be happy to check you in whenever you arrive.

The apartment is easily accessible by wheelchair (single level) and to the other floors.

Please also note that as a host we are legally mandated by Portuguese/EU law to provide visitors’ passport/national ID information to the Portuguese Border Control Authority SEF (Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiros). In order to do this, we will require a copy of everyone’s passport or national ID card (including children) who are staying in the apartment, prior to their arrival at Estrela da Luz.

Celebrating 60 with friends

This was the first place we stayed upon our entry to Portugal from Canada and it was a fabulous entry. Other then a little confusing trying to leave the Parkade (note to self take car out before you give up key :)) the location and stay was perfect! We’ll be back!

The property is excellent, the grounds are well maintained and totally clean and the building is still in "as new" condition.Our one bedroom apartment was perfect for our needs, the living/dining area and bedroom were large with balconies facing south and west so we had sun most of the day.The kitchen was functional with all of the appropriate appliances and cooking was easy once we found out how to operate the stove.Overall we were extremely pleased with the property and when we met the Owner's we told them so and we parted as friends.We strongly recommend this property and found it to be very cost effective.

Very good.

The apartment was really large and comfortable for a one bedroom, we were very impressed with the size of the rooms. Two large balconies with sun most of the day and only a five minute walk to the seafront. Estrela is a first class resort with lots of attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 night stay.

Great Vacation

We enjoyed our month long stay at this property. The unit was very clean and well equipped. The property was very well maintained and walking distance to the beach and restaurants. We enjoyed the beautiful pool. Michael was terrific to deal with. Very thoughtful and attentive. We really appreciated his kindness.

Very spacious 1 bedroom apartment with benefit of 2 balconies, large screen tv and very well equipped kitchen plus benefit of air conditioning. on site restaurant was very good cuisine and value wise and poolside facilities were excellent. Highly recommended. Very attentive host.

Short stay in Luz

A few things of note in the condo: 1) the bed is really hard 2) the couches have an odour to them 3) the bathroom is quirky, super narrow between toilet and counter. The counter goes right to the tub/shower, and you have to maneuver between the counter, toilet and a shower door to step in the tub/shower. I can't imagine older individuals would feel comfortable using the shower.

Great Apartment in an excellent location

The apartment is part of what I would call a 5 star resort. There is controlled entry (very easy) through all the gates into the premises. Lovely landscaped gardens & everywhere is kept in top notch condition. The apartment itself is very spacious & was the cleanest rental we have ever stayed at. It is well equipped with quality items such that even me, being a keen cook, could find all I needed to whip up a meal with the lovely produce available locally. Between the resort staff & the host Michael, we were really looked after & communication was exemplary. I was wary of this part of Portugal, Luz & particularly Lagos fearing that it would be a bit Hi-De-Hi or full of British hens & stags. It was a delight to discover that both towns are charming & certainly in May, had enough people to have character, but few enough that it was nicely un-crowded (not a real word). Luz itself is a great option as a slightly smaller town but still having all the amenities needed & a great beach. It's only 10 minutes to Lagos. The host's guidance notes were a great help steering us to worthwhile destinations & eateries. I could go on! All in all a great holiday experience. We were there a week & could have easily had 2 weeks with plenty to do (we did have a hire car). Many thanks to Michael our host.

Even better than we expected!

We had a wonderful time in Luz, and this suite really helped us feel at home. It is spacious, clean and comfortable, with modern appliances, a good bed and nice furniture. There were numerous little extras that we appreciate - some spices and other stock items from previous guests, as well as a toaster and Bodum and Nespresso coffee makers. Everything was very easy to use and we really appreciated the clothes washer. Michael was great to deal with. He sent us a very thorough outline of virtually everything we needed to know, and communicated quickly with us before, during and after our stay. Estrela da Luz is a great complex, very professionally run, with all of the extras of a first class resort. Luz is a beautiful, laid back little town, without all of the hustle and bustle of nearby Lagos. It has a good beach, some nice restaurants, a supermarket and excellent walking both east and west of town. We walked to Lagos one day and it was quite do-able, after the initial hike up the cliff to the east of Luz. Ponta da Piedade to the south of Lagos is a must see! Contrary to what some online sites might say, the bus between Lagos and Luz is pretty good, the only problem being it doesn't operate past 20:00 from Sept. to June. If you are looking for a laid back vacation, with some awesome walks along the coast, we would highly recommend Luz, and Michael's place is a wondeful home to enjoy it from.We definitely hope to return for a longer stay in the future. Fabulous

My husband and I spent a week at this fabulous property. Communication with the owner was highly efficient and very professional. We appreciated the detailed instructions and recommendations provided in advance. The unit, the resort, and the location were all excellent! We especially loved the view from the balcony in the evenings. We highly recommend this property for a home base in the Algarve.

My stay was planned to be 3 weeks, yet I stayed for more than 3 months

While I was planning a short stay, the very nice apartment and Michael's outstanding service made me extend and extend. It is a large apartment with separate bedroom and fully equipped kitchen - with all the things you could wish for! Michael also went out of his way to make remote work a pleasure and even brought some exercise equipment to the apartment when the resort's gym had to close because of COVID restrictions. Parking is super convenient, with an own parking spot just below the building. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and can only recommend the apartment and the Estrela da Luz compound to anyone! There's a pretty high chance I'll be back :-)

Great holiday in lovely apartment

From initial booking, Michael's communication has been excellent. Any queries we had were answered quickly and he gave us a lot of information regarding the resort. The apartment was very clean and everything we needed was here. It was good to have internet and a large tv with uk channels . Weather throughout the 10 days was fantastic and we ate out on one of the 2 balconies for every meal. The resort of Estrella is very pretty with lovely gardens. There is an indoor pool and jacuzzi and 3 other pools (children's, family and adult) all heated. There were always sunbeds and umbrellas free and staff to clean them as soon as vacated with antiviral spray. At all times we felt covid safe.

This is a nice clean apartment. check in nice and easy and very nearby to apartment. this is very central for walking round luz. michael very friendly throughout whole booking procedure. plenty of nice bars and restaurants in luz to choose from. would use this apartment again if visiting luz outdoor swimming pool is heated (adults and childrens)

Wonderful holiday

Facility was excellent and very well priced for a winter holiday Apartment was large and well appointed and very comfortable We also made good use of the pool and exercise room Michael provided us with a long list of suggestions for dining, hiking and visiting area towns. Those proved to be spot on and really enhanced our holiday

We are a British/German couple who moved to the Algarve in 2009, with our two young children, after falling in love with the area. Ever since moving to Portugal we have not only grown fond of the friendly welcoming nature of the Portuguese people but also the incredible life style of living by the Sea. The sun (over 300 days of sunshine each year) & stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean are still jaw-dropping, even after all these years and we have been able to explore the area and its numerous attractions and places of interest with great pleasure. We love having a beach picnic as much as dining out at one of our favourite local restaurants & we are sure that you will too!

We purchased the property, because we just love the quiet and picturesque location of Praia da Luz. Being demanding travellers ourselves, we wanted something that offered all of the luxuries that are needed, to make a holiday very special & after a very long and thorough search, we found an apartment in Estrela da Luz, that literally ticked all of the boxes.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

We really do feel that our apartment is very special & enjoy it for a host of reasons - it’s luxurious, very spacious, has sea views from the lounge, kitchen & bedroom, there is access to all of Estrela’s facilities - heated pools, Jacuzzi, Sauna, Gym, tennis courts, gardens & it’s only a short walk to the beach & all local amenities - Restaurants, supermarkets, shops etc. It is very comfortable all year round, with air-conditioning & heating……yes, even though the sun is always close by, it can still be a little chilly in January! We also appreciate the special little touches, such as free parking & wifi, lots of space for kids beds/toys etc, a 24 hour reception & last but not least, a decent sized TV to relax in front of with a glass of wine, after a long ‘hard’ day at the beach :-)
