Mullins Bay House is your sip of heaven and is only 400 metres from the beautiful Mullins beach on the West Coast. Historic Speightstown with all its charms is just over a mile away. A supermarket, shops, banks, bars, restaurants, gym and a lovely little museum make it an ideal location.

It is a stylish spacious family home in an acre of beautiful tropical gardens with a large private pool and 2 BBQ's and is just 3-4 minutes walk to Mullins Beach. It has a lovely covered wooden deck which runs along the back of the house offering a perfect place to relax with a morning coffee or early evening sundowner and enjoy the views of natural Barbados and Green Monkeys playing in the trees.

The private saltwater pool is surrounded by Hibiscus, Travellers and Golden Palms. Inside, all the bedrooms have aircon and ceiling fans and most of the bathrooms are ensuite. The large open plan living room opens out onto the deck and there is also a TV room which has internet multi-channel TV. There is a well equipped kitchen and the furniture is a mixture of hardwoods with modern fabrics.

Your rental includes: WIFI with fibre optic internet, multi channel internet TV, utilities, housekeeping, all towels and linen including beach towels.

Tired of cooking? We have two lovely people who can help and have cooked many lovely meals for us and our guests. Favourites include: Bajan flying fish, curry or roti, grilled Marlin, Tuna, Kingfish or Mahi Mahi, with cou cou, baked eggplant, butter nut squash, pineapple pie. Children love baked chicken, macaroni pie and rice & peas.

Eating Out: We have c20 eating and drinking places within 2 miles of the house.

Airport pick up: We can arrange collection for you with a reliable local taxi firm who know us and Mullins Bay House well and will make your transfer easy.

Staff: We have two wonderful loyal and very friendly members of fulltime staff: Andrew our Supervisor has been with us since 2005. He looks after the garden, pool and maintenance and much more. Oneta is our Housekeeper and together they will do all they can to make your stay in Barbados enjoyable and restful.

More Information: To help you make the most of Barbados we will email you our detailed guide and 2 hand drawn maps of the area, restaurant, bars etc.

Should the need arise again our home is approved for covid quarantine and this means you can arrive on the island and safely stay there without any worry of having to move elsewhere if you find you test positive.

Wow! What to say about Mullins bay house, one of the most beautiful properties that myself and my family have ever stayed in. We were a party of 10 and it was perfect, with everything we needed. The villa was well equipped with everything we needed, plenty of parking, close to all amenities and a 5 min walk to Mullins beach. Just perfection!The villa was big enough that we could all feel like we had our own space to relax, gardens were beautiful and we were even lucky enough to see monkeys most mornings! The pool area was beautiful and we enjoyed most of our days relaxing all together. Onita & Andrew were amazing and so attentive for every need and question we had. Sarah, our host was absolutely incredible. No question was too small and she went above and beyond to make sure our experience was the best it could be, it was and more!Highly recommend Mullins Bay house for a big group of family/friends, it’s a perfect villa in the most idyllic spot.

As advertised...and more!

What a great place to take my family for a special birthday celebration! We had so much room and the grounds were beautiful. The kids were upset about not seeing monkeys but before the trip ended they showed up (I think Andrew had something to do with making this happen ;-) So convenient to the beach, Holetown and Speightown. I also learned not to drive a van with 8 people around the island and should have used the referrals for drivers from Sarah instead (that would have made the trip even more relaxing). Make sure you get some meals from Sophie, her cooking is incredible! We felt like we had a Carribean palace in paradise for a week.

Perfectly wonderful stay for our group of 13

Spacious and cozy home with all the amenities you could wish for. We love the convenience to the beach and the pool is magnificent! Very comfortable for all 13 adults with areas for gathering and areas for more private time. Anita and jewel, Andrew and Rudy were so helpful, friendly and kept the property in into shape!! Excited to back next year!

Family Reunion

The children and grandchildren were very pleased with the layout. They enjoyed the pool and gardens plus the short walk to the beach where the grandparents had a Vrbo. The beach was so unique and a pleasant change from Alabama’s gulf coast.

Beautiful home with good location

Great property for extended family.

With potentially seven bedrooms, two open dining areas an indoor dining area, three kitchens and a tv/lounge room, this was perfect for our extended family of four households ranging in age from 20months to 70+yrs. The enclosed garden with private pool was perfect for adults and children alike, and with Mullins beach an easy five minute walk we couldn’t have picked a better holiday home.

Beautiful villa in stunning surroundings

We rented the entire house for our party of 10 made up of 5 couples. We loved the spacious living areas but were bowled over by the outdoor space- just loved the pool and the garden. A highlight was the green monkeys visiting and playing in the garden. The house is very well cared for by Andrew and other staff. Andrew was just so helpful- nothing was too much trouble. The house is in such a lovely untouristy part of Barbados- we loved it!

A slice of paradise 5 minutes from the beach

The property was as advertised. We were met at the airport, and Andrew the house manager was at the house to meet us when we arrived. He was very helpful, and arranged delicious Bajan food for us on a couple of nights during our stay. The house is set in a beautifully landscaped garden with mature trees. The pool was a good size with areas of shade and sun and plenty of loungers and chairs. The bedrooms were spacious and the whole property was light and airy, with 2 outdoor decks, giving a choice of areas for eating. The kitchen was well equipped, but there were no basics supplied, so you will have to buy salt, pepper, oil etc if you are going to be cooking. The beach is a 5 minute walk away , great for swimming, and sunset views, with a couple of beach bars for drinks/snacks. We were a group of 2 families and the property worked very well for us, with plenty of space for everyone.. We would certainly visit again.

Magical!

The house and property had everything we needed and more. Plenty of bedrooms, beds, bathrooms, etc... to accommodate our large group for our reunion. The garden area by the pool is the perfect spot every morning to enjoy coffee and breakfast. The beach is a short walk away with some great local beach bars. Sarah is very quick to answer any questions and super knowledgeable about fun local spots! Cannot wait to plan our next trip back down.

Best Girls Trip

Just returned back from this beautiful place. Mullins Bay was everything that was described. The house had enough rooms for 10 ladies and more. Andrew and Oneta was there for the check in process and showed us around the place. There was a few issues with the place that was taken care of immediately except for one of the air conditioner which was going to be replaced when we left. We hired a car service to take us around and was more than pleased with our driver Sean Tempo he gave us tours and took us to several popular tourist spots. The restaurants he recommended has some of the best foods. I highly recommend using Sean Tempo if you need a car service. I also highly recommend Mullins Bay rentals. If you have a small group or a large group you can be accommodated. This was a great experience. We will definitely use Mullins Bay again.

Wonderful Vacation Home

Our family of 10 just returned from a great week at Mullins Bay House. Sarah was very helpful and responsive before our visit answering questions and assisting us in setting up transport to/from the airport and having some groceries on hand to start our stay. She also provided some excellent recommendations of things to do and places to purchase fresh fish and rum. The property is very nice, we particularly enjoyed the multiple decks for outdoor living and private pool. The outdoor shower came in handy when we returned from the beach. The layout of the property is great, bedrooms are spread out a bit giving everyone some space and the common areas are big enough for everyone when you want to be all together. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen reasonably well equipped, and Andrew and Oneta were very helpful. The home is located in a nice and quiet neighborhood that is close to both the beach and to the bus stop. The children really enjoyed seeing the monkeys and birds that wandered by from time to time. We hope to return and stay here again soon!

100% Recommend Renting This Villa!

4 families and a total of 15 of us ranging from age 12 to age 53 rented this villa for 14 nights and we were immediately wowed by the presentation of the house, then as we moved into the garden, we were amazed by the beautifully kept lawn and surrounding exotic trees which were complimented with an array of lovely sounding birds. The pool was of a nice size too and cleaned every few days. The 3 parts to the house with separate kitchens were adequately furnished with utensils and everything worked perfectly. The house workers Andrew, Oneta and Kielan were polite and very helpful at all times, providing us with clean towels, and bedding when needed and keeping the house generally clean and tidy. These guys could not be more helpful. Andrew provided our welcome meal too which was fantastic and reasonably priced. The house is perfectly located to Mullins beach which is literally 5 mins from the bottom of the garden gate and it really is a stunning beach. Go and watch the sun set, it is amazing. The house is situated between Holetown and Speightstown which are 2 contrasting towns. The first being upmarket and expensive, the second very dated and reasonably priced. Buses run frequently until around 7pm, so getting to both is easy, but I recommend hiring a car although we didn’t as we wanted to feel the whole Bajan experience. Our boys loved the boogie buses too! Finally, our taxi man recommended by our host Big Sean was superb on arrival, then on our departure. He made several pickups for us to take us to the airport on separate days and he was always on time, friendly and helpful. Our hosts Sarah and Simon have been the most helpful I’ve ever experienced having booked many private homes in different countries. Always available via messenger, very informative, honest and welcoming in the use of their beautiful home. We are already saving our pennies for a trip in 2020, so hopefully this house will still be there for us! Thank you so much for a helping us have the perfect holiday!!!

Just like home, but with a beach a short walk away

The beauty of Mullins Bay House is that it is wonderfully situated just a short walk from the Beach (5 mins at an amble pace), but also has the benefit of being positioned in a quiet road with a sizeable garden and a pool giving you the choice on any given day of pool, beach or both. The house itself is comfortably furnished and well equipped with everything that you would need for a family holiday. The bedroom I stayed in was light and airy with the benefit of a ceiling fan as well as air conditioning which allows for a very comfortable night without the chill of aircon. I had an ensuite that was fully functioning and I particularly loved the glass bricks that give it a lovely light in the evening sun. The house has a lot of indoor space that children might use more during the hottest parts of the day, but we found ourselves out on the deck most meal times enjoying the lovely views of Bourganvillia and Palms in the garden, and also monkeys which are most entertaining! The staff are lovely and unobtrusive, great to have beds made and washing up done on the days they are in, also have a night of not cooking and have a meal bought in by Andrew, traditional Bajan food, delicious and you don't need to be in to receive it, we came back from Sundowners to find it waiting for us, fabulous. Like the beach the bus stop is just a short walk and we used the yellow "Reggae" buses all of the time, you can travel in any direction from one end of the Island to the other for 2 dollars, and they are great fun and run very regularly, no timetable just go to a stop and wait, never for very long (all the bus stops are named after ladies) worth remembering which yours is! Although Barbados is awash with high end restaurants we did not use these but spent most of our time at beach type bars that offer fantastic Rum Punches/Sours both are delicious, and simple meals of fresh fish which were very very good. Ju Ju's which is next to Lonestar became a favourite as it is "on" the beach, and The Little Bristol Bar in Speightstown offers live music on some nights, both perfect for Sundowners. Smokeys' fish is the best, and close by, and can be bought home and cooked on the BBQ and the supermarket in Hole Town has everything you need. All in all, a wonderful stay and I would thoroughly recommend Mullins Bay House. If you had two families holidaying together the configuration of the house works brilliantly as there are two kitchens so you have your own space and privacy.

Great Villa if you are a large party.

We spent our second New Year at Mullins Bay House and I must say this trip was even better than the last. The owners had completed at lot of improvements to the decor and rooms. This Holiday home is in a perfect position, close to Mullens Beach and some of the best restaurants on the island. Andrew the house keeper and his staff were all first class and nothing too much trouble, Andrew even organised cooking a Bejan meal for ten one evening. Looking forward to going back for the third time.

Fabulous Family Holiday

We had a fabulous time at Mullins Bay House with 3 generations of our family celebrating a special birthday and a big anniversary. We wanted somewhere special and were delighted with the beautiful gardens, big pool and comfortable bedrooms and lovely beaches very close by. The staff were very helpful especially Andrew who heads up the team. The restaurant suggestions from Sarah were very helpful and we had excellent meals at the Fishpot, JuJu's, Cariba and Tides. The south coast has some super beaches and we loved the Deli near Crane Beach. The young children were enchanted by the Green Monkeys scampering across the lawn. A magical time for all.

Perfect 60th Birthday Family Venue

The perfect venue for our family celebration. Location exactly where we wanted between Gibbs and Mullins beaches. Staff excellent, could not have been more helpful and friendly. Brilliant Holiday

We had a brilliant holiday with a big family group taking both Mullins Bay House and the Garden Apartment. This lovely home was ideal for our family with loads of space inside and out, super gardens and a bigger than average pool. The location was perfect for us. The housekeeper, Anthea, does an excellent job with her friendly and efficient approach. She is a real gem and made us feel welcome and relaxed from the first day. We enjoyed lots of exciting activities including a visit to Crane beach, another to Miami beach is the south and a wonderful boat trip to swim with the turtles on Calypso. Thanks for suggesting them. Sooo peaceful and relaxing

We loved it and did not want to leave. We took the main house and the Garden Apartment which was just right for a family gathering. Thanks to Andrew and Anthea for looking after us so well. Sarah was very efficient and dealt with all our questions and pointed us towards so many fab beaches and places to eat. We hired both of the cars and saw the East Coast which is so different from the calm West Coast. The fresh fish from Smokie was really good so we made full use of the BBQ. The Bajans are really laid back and so were we after days chilling out in the gardens and cooling off in the lovely pool. Highly recommended. Karen.

Mullins Bay House - a haven

I stayed at the main house at Mullins Bay House in May - and while I'd been to Barbados on two previous occasions, I'd never been in anywhere so impressive! The location is just a couple of hundred yards inland from the main road on the West Coast, so it's a good base from which to explore the island, and an easy walk down to the (very good) local beach - yet MBH and its large walled garden are a tranquil haven. The house itself is very spacious - our party didn't fill it - and very well furnished in a modern style. My room was large and cool, with en suite bathroom. The staff were very friendly and efficient: it's clear that Simon and Sarah pay close attention to what's going on, and have got a good team. The scale and style of the garden, with some impressive shady trees, set MBH apart. I enjoyed the pool, and most of all just sitting on the large verandah, relaxing and sipping beer... All in all, strongly recommended, and I hope to return!

Excellent Accommodation, Convenient Location

We all thought this was the perfect place to stay in Barbados. The setting is superb with very big gardens, a nice pool and good beaches very close. We took Mullins Bay House and the Garden Apartment as there were 12 of us celebrating a special family birthday. The house and apartment are really well kept and had everything we needed. The staff were really nice and interesting to talk with. Somehow they manage to be laid back and still get all the work done. Speightstown is a nice little town close by whicvh had eveything we needed. Casareep Cafe gave us several very good value lunches on the beach. Mangos by the Sea was a good place for dinner as was the Fish Pot restaurant a bit further north. In Holetown we had good meals at Ragamuffins and the Mews and a fantastic meal at Tides on the birthday itself. On the South Coast Simon & Sarah steered us towards Shakers which was a great little restaurant. We brought home happy memories of friendly Bajans, relaxing days and some great food.This was my 4th visit to Barbados and the best yet.

We live in Cambridge, UK and have been visiting Barbados since 1997. We fell in love with the island and its people and bought Mullins Bay House in 2003. It is very much our home from home and we hope you find it as special as we do.

The house is very spacious and can easily accommodate up to 14 guests. It's only a short 4 minute stroll down to the beach but offers a very peaceful and tranquil place to stay
