This spacious, beautifully restored 5* barn conversion has wonderful country views over the Fowey River Valley and surrounding open countryside. It has 4 en-suite bedrooms and sleeps up to 10 people plus cots.
A cot, highchair and stairgate are available on request.
A home-made Cornish cream tea awaits you on arrival as a warm welcome.
There is an indoor heated swimming pool and hot tub with stunning views over the Fowey River. There are friendly farm animals to help feed daily and collect the eggs.
There is a games room and an outside play area.
There is a large fenced garden and a patio area with a bbq and garden furniture for sitting and relaxing in the afternoon and evening sun.
We are in a stunning location in mid-Cornwall and close to many famous attractions, beaches, N.T. properties and many more activities and attractions. Ample off road parking. On-site EV Charger available on site.

Great place, stay and hosts

Excellent accommodation for a multi deneration stay. Our 4 year old granddaughter loved feeding the animals, Everyone liked the really warm pool. Great place.

This is a lovely property. The location is beautiful. The house is so well equipped we could have lived there permanently! The 2 year old loved the animals and playground, and we all enjoyed the pool. The property is extremely well kept and the hosts are friendly and helpful. A lovely break.

Fabulous accommodation

The house was very clean and had everything you could possibly want. The bathrooms were beautiful. It had a very large garden area overlooking fields. The shared pool was first class. The animal feeding and playarea were great fun. Ruth, the owner, was lovely and very helpful.

Wonderful Golant farm stay

Beautiful converted barn with huge garden area and heated pool with animal feeding and play area was wonderful for the four of us. We were up on a hill overlooking the Fowey river with a pub within walking distance in the village by the river (very steep narrow lane). Ruth was a lovely host and let us collect eggs from the chickens for breakfast. Arthur loved the sunken trampoline and swimming every day. When Covid controls are no longer would love to bring the whole family back to stay

Superb holiday home

The Granary is a superb holiday home for larger family groups. I visited with my wife, son, daughter, son-in-law and three grandson's.The building itself looked impressive as we arrived, but this was surpassed as we saw the inside and the wonderful lawn at the rear. The children enjoyed playing on the lawn and the play area. The pool was enjoyed by all.The views from the front and rear are excellent.Overall a relaxing location in an outstanding area.We were greated by Ruth, the hoast who had supplied cream scones, fresh eggs and milk on out arrival. Ruth also allowed the children to join her in the mornings to feed the animals.We will not hesitate booking another stay in the future and would highly recommend to friends.We all enjoyed playing games on the lawn

Family holiday

We had a great week. The listing didn’t do the place justice. We all enjoyed the 8.30am feeding of the guinea pigs, alpacas, pigs, goat and pony. The playground was great for our young grandson and the garden was enclosed and large enough to run around in. The pool…. We weren’t prepared for such a large pool with sun loungers and hot tub overlooking the estuary. The kitchen cupboards were thoughtfully provided with plastic glasses so you could have a drink by the pool and enjoy the view. It felt like going to a spa. Thank you Ruth and John for your kind hospitality.

Perfect getaway.

Beautiful cottage in the most stunning views. We really loved the pool and the games room. The children were thrilled to feed the farm animals. The cottage was equipt with everything we could possibly need. We had a wonderful time.

A fantastic family stay.

Upon arrival we were welcomed by Ruth she explained what facilities were available and where we could find any information regarding the farm. Ruth had very kindly left us fresh eggs and had made scones with jam and cream which were delicious. The farm itself was stunning the converted barn was done to a high standard with beautiful views. The facilities of a games room and swimming pool were fantastic for the kids and adults alike. The kids were able to feed the animals on the farm too which they thoroughly enjoyed. Nothing was too much trouble our hosts were kind, friendly and welcoming we would highly recommend a stay here and we hope to return In the not so distant future.

Simply the Best!

For purely selfish reasons we should say that this stay was the worst that we had experienced of the many previously enjoyed throughout the world. However, we honestly thought that this property was, without doubt, one of the very best that we have ever experienced! The property and the facilities offered are of an incredibly high standard, the pool and hot tub are superior to that offered by many very high end hotels, the attention to detail offered by Ruth and her family is second to none including crabbing gear/ buckets and spades for the children plus, those small things often missing in the kitchen that help make the delivery of food a complete success. The facilities for children are very safe and for them the experience of feeding and petting the animals beats that of any zoo. This was a 5*+ experience!

Best holiday ever in the UK, fantastic accommodation and hosts, we have booked the old granary fo 3 weeks next year. If you are looking at this you must go, we can't prase this holiday enough.

Absolutely fantastic

We have just reluctantly left the old granary, we have had a fantastic week, 3 generations of family. Ideal for my mum and dad with mobility issues with the bedroom being on the same level as the living room and kitchen. My two grand babies one being a baby and my 3 year old absolutely loved it, the animals, the park, the pool. There is nothing else you need here the house is beautiful plenty and space and everything you could ever need. The garden is fantastic lots of fun playing. Ruth and John are lovely and so helpful thank you so much for a lovely week x

A wonderful family fortnight

We spent a fantastic couple of weeks in the Old Granary, with various grandparents staying at different times. Our children loved the pool, and feeding the animals,.and we couldn't have asked for better accommodation. Ruth was so welcoming and helpful too! A really lovely end to my maternity leave!

Lovely barn conversion for family

Lovely place with everything you need, a massive garden and wonderful views of hills and river. Everything on-site is excellent with shared use of pool and hot tub, games room and playground and space for football. Animal feeding too. Highly recommend!

Couldn’t ask for more

We were blown away by this beautiful property and all it had to offer. Six of us stayed here and we had the best time. The property, the layout and gardens were stunning and the addition of the pool and hot tub when we wanted to use them was perfect. The views are incredible and I’m sure the animals are missing our random food contributions each morning! Would recommend 100%. Plus the addition of the homemade cream tea to arrive to was a lovely touch. Thank you Ruth. All the very best. I’m sure we’ll be back!

Family Birthday Get away

We were anxious due to lockdown if we could go but Ruth was easy to communicate with and we ended up hiring the The Cottage as well, which is another stunning property. We were not sure what to expect but wow it was everything and more for a December Birthday. We swam in the amazing pool every day and sat in the hot tub admiring the amazing views. 84 year old grandma even ventured into the pool but there were loungers so she sat and read and watched us also. The pool facilities are definitely 5 star and we as a family have stayed at several large houses over the years as we are a big family. The Old Granary was perfect for us , due to lockdown we decided to do a 'come dine with me' experience with different themes each evening and a fantastic take away from the pub down the road in Golant one evening (which we would definitely recommend the food from). The open plan but 'discreetness' of the kitchen with the beautiful warm rayburn was great and we could then play games each evening with plenty of sofa space for us all, with charades and board games. The place was warm and very cosy and the bedrooms are excellent and very clean with ensuites to all. Grandma had the bedroom on the level with the living room to avoid the stairs which suited her really well. We went on some brisk walks , explored the church and fed the animals most days . We would definitely recommend it. And a lovely touch was we had a lovely cream tea with mince pies waiting for us on arrival. There were plenty of hand santizers stationed everywhere and Ruth was available if we needed her. What can I say but dont hesitate book up and enjoy !

Great Views and comfortable accommodation

Ruth was very welcoming and the cream tea /mince pies were lovely. We appreciated the little touches such as the chocolates on the Christmas Tree and the milk in the fridge. We used the pool and the games room which were both added bonuses. The Old Granary was big enough for us to enjoy family time together in the living room. The local church, bell ringing lesson on New Year’s Day was something very unexpected but actually was enjoyed by us all including our teenage children. Would recommend for a family/friends get together but definitely need a car as during the winter no shop or restaurant open in Golant.

Terrible weather but rescued by the lovely swimming pool, games room and glorious view! Lovely touches of scones and cream and fresh farm eggs and milk on our arrival. I really can't find anything wrong with this property and the friendly owners.

Fantastic

This really is a fantastic property. The owners Ruth and John are on-hand without being intrusive. Our nephews absolutely loved the indoor swimming pool, games room and free wifi.

A holiday home that has everything and more

I spent a lovely week in August in the Old Granary at Penquite Farm with my husband our two sons, their wives and three granddaughters aged seven, six and four. In Candice K review, who had a holiday in Feb 2016 at the Old Granary has written everything we enjoyed at the Old Granary, we had the luck to be able to enjoy the very large garden and the girls had fun in the play area. It is true it is the best 'holiday cottage' we also have ever stayed in and plans to add a pool, that would be the icing on the cake. We had tears from the girls as we left but we will be back. Fantastic stay!

Our family party of two adults and five children have recently returned from a five night stay in the Old Granary at Penquite Farm and it was absolutely brilliant. The farm is in a beautiful location with the river Fowey in the valley below and the lovely ancient church across the driveway. The owner Ruth was a wonderful, kind and generous host- we were welcomed to the Granary with a lovely vase of flowers, homemade cream tea as well as delicious local bacon and sausages (to add to the fresh eggs that the children collected every day). Ruth came to say hello and talked us through everything as well as inviting the children to join in with feeding the animals each morning - she even offered us some spare wellies! My daughter enjoyed helping so much I think she would like to stay there forever! The living area was huge and tremendously comfortable and gave us the chance to enjoy some much appreciated family time. The children absolutely loved the reclining sofas! The dining area and kitchen were really well equipped and it was great to have a table large enough for us all to sit round for meals and board games. All of the bedrooms were comfortable, immaculate and each had their own spotless bathroom which was fantastic. The garden was lovely- we didn't use it much because of the weather but I can imagine it being lots of fun! The games room was wonderful for the teenagers and we really appreciated the opportunity to have a go at ringing the church bell (thank you Ruth!). It really is the best 'holiday cottage' we've ever stayed in and we'll be saving for a return visit, especially now that we hear there are plans to add a swimming pool!
