Studio in Gaia/Porto

What a fantastic location! It was easy to get to and close to great restaurants and activities. Hosts were great and helpful! Although it was no issue for us, it would be challenging for those with mobility issues as the steps getting into the apartment are steep. Would love to come back!

Long Weekend

The Studio is ideal for a couple. It is in a good location by the river for river cruises. There are restaurants nearby. It is close to the Dom Luis bridge for exploring Porto on the other side.

Fantastic Property!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay on the Douro River. The location was great and the views of the river and Ribeira area made this property special. The apartment is small, but had everything I needed. The hosts were gracious and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend this property for a couple or a solo traveler.

The property is centrally located to walk to Porto easily to see many sites, restaurants and shops. We had only a couple of recommendations. I'm not sure what it is, but my wife and I both accumilated dirt on our flip flops while walking on the floor. The stairs are also a challenge for older people.Otherwise the owner's are friendly and responsive to our needs. They also provided a small bottle of port wine, cheese and crackers. A very nice surprise and thoughtful. The location is ideal for touring Porto and the surrounding areas.

Nice apartment at excellent location

This apartment is nicely decorated and has everything you need for a holiday. It is well equipped. You are directly at the river, have an excellent view. It is always nice after being all day in Porto to come back within a few minutes, rest, take shower and go out again for dinner. You don't need a car to visit the city. Check-in, check-out, communication went perfect. I can really recommend it. We will come again next year.

Good but not great 👍

Beautiful views + great location. Be aware at check-in €20 cash is required for local taxes. Kitchen not well-equipped: broken corkscrew, no knives for food prep. However, the washing machine was nice, but take your own detergent as it’s not supplied. Although I enjoy a firm mattress, the bed was like a board. Not conducive to a good night’s sleep, which was a shame. As the location is very nice. Do your homework, as the property manager couldn’t help with suggestions for restaurants or where to get groceries. Thank goodness for google! And the local ‘municipal police’ are very helpful. Although overall a bit grubby + lacking in amenities, the location is fabulous for sightseeing + the view is spectacular. You’re right on the tourist strip! If your back is okay with a firm bed + you’re prepared to explore, this is a good spot to stay to be a tourist in Porta.

RECOMENDABLE 100%

El alojamiento está excelentemente ubicado, en la entrada al puente de Luis I por lo que es perfecto para recorrer la ciudad y hacer algún descanso para reponer fuerzas y continuar disfrutando de Oporto. Está muy bien equipado. Nosotros éramos tres personas y hemos estado perfectamente. La propietaria es encantadora. Muchas gracias María por la disponibilidad y la amabilidad que has tenido con nosotros. Todo han sido facilidades y buenas recomendaciones: Cata de vinos muy profesional en la QUINTA DO NOVAL y la comida excelente en el Restaurante San Gonzalo, todo ello muy cerquita del alojamiento. Además de las facilidades para proporcionar parking por muy buen precio en un lugar tan céntrico e imposible de encontrar aparcamiento cerca. Todo han sido ventajas, repetiremos seguro!

Très bel emplacement

Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Paulo. L’appartement est idéalement situé au pied du pont Dom luis et offre une vue imprenable sur les quais et le Douro. L’immeuble est calme. Par contre nous avons été très déçus par le manque d’entretien général de l’appartement : il est très peu équipé, le ménage est plus qu’approximatif ( traces de moisissures, cheveux dans la douche, placards et vaisselle sale, odeur de tabac, poussière….), literie de mauvaise qualité ( oreillers datés, lits inconfortables et poussiéreux), fuite aux toilettes, réfrigérateur bruyant, tapis et couverture non entretenus. Bref, malgré l’emplacement nous ne recommandons pas cet appartement.

Not comfortable and not clean

I don't like to write negative reviews, especially when the owners were so nice, but this place needs a serious renovation or at the very least, a deep-DEEP cleaning and a new mattress and bed sheets. The bed's mattress was bumpy and extremely uncomfortable. The pillows don't look like pillows anymore. The sheets are overused and scratchy and they smell musty. The same with the towels. There was mold in the kitchen and in the shower. They had a shaggy carpet that should be thrown away. I used my hand sanitizer to go through each light switch and everything else that we would have been touching, they were dirty. I don't think this place has been properly cleaned in a while. The location of the place is absolutely amazing, it is on the Gaia side and the view from the window is beautiful. Everything was within walking distance. It could be a little loud because it's right by the river, but that does not bother us. They have a heating system that was pleasant since at night the temperature went down, we were there in December. The check-in process was easy and the communication with the owners was easy. To get to the apparent, the stairs are very stepped, just something to keep in mind, in case you have mobility issues. Paulo and his wife were very nice.

Séjour excellent

La situation de l’appartement est excellente en un point touristique absolument stratégique. On est tout de suite plongé dans l’ambiance trépidante de ce lieu magique jusque tard le soir. De cet endroit, l’accès à tous les sites est aisé mais munissez-vous de bonnes chaussures pour évoluer dans les quartiers quelquefois pentus. L’appartement est sobre mais offre le confort nécessaire. Prévoir la réservation d’une place de parking tout proche car le stationnement est compliqué.

Great experience

Maria was really helpful, and replied all the questions fast we asked. The location is really good in front of the river, it was a bit noise during the day because all the tourists and bar on the ground floor. If you enjoy the live music, every night from 19:00 to 23:00 you can see there has a live-band in front of the apartment next to the river. The apartment is not so big, but there has mostly stuffs you will need. It has AC and the kitchen to cook sometimes.

A million dollar view and everything needed for a cozy stay

I was lucky to stay in this studio for 9 nights. The location could not be better--the windows face the river. I could enjoy a glass of wine looking out over the river without having to pay the high prices of the riverfront restaurants! The center of Porto is a short walk across the bridge, a supermarket up the hill near the Jardim do Morro metro stop--everything I needed to set myself up for simple dinners at home when I didn't want to go out. The space is generous, well adapted for 2 people. The bed and pull-out sofa are quite comfortable. I appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, especiallly the washing machine, which enabled me to wash my clothes (bring your own detergent) and dry them on the provided rack. What I enjoyed the most was the wonderful natural light that illuminates the studio in the afternoons. It was such a comfortable space to read and relax that I did all my sightseeing in the mornings so I could enjoy the studio in the afternoons. There is a little bit of street noise, given the location on the riverfront, but never too late in the evening. Paolo was a wonderful host. He assisted me in recovering a lost suitcase from the airlines and was easily available by text message. I can't recommend this studio more highly.

Excellent séjour vacances à Porto

L'appartement est idéalement situé pour profiter de Porto. Offrant une vue directe sur le fleuve Douro et le Pont Dom Luis 1er, le bien conforme au descriptif de l'annonce dispose de toutes les commodités pour un séjour réussi. Nous notons aussi l'excellente communication avec la propriétaire ainsi que sa bienveillance à notre égard. C'est donc en toute logique que nous recommandons cette adresse.

Great little apartment on the river.

Great apartment right on the river next to all the bars, restaurants and port cellars. Considering it’s position, was surprisingly quiet at night once shutters closed. Parking was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend.

Agréable séjour

Appartement très bien situé. Nous avons posé la voiture pendant 2 jours et nous avons pu visiter tout à pied. Accès métro à proximité de l'appartement.
