Property Summary Pines in Chapel Cleeve, Near Blue Anchor, is a delightful chalet-bungalow offering pet-friendly holiday accommodation. Sleeps up to 2 guests in one double bedroom, with a private garden for guests' sole use. Close to the coast and the hills, it's a lovely spot to access Exmoor and The Brendon Hills.
Main Description Pines is a chalet/bungalow, closely situated to the coast at Blue Anchor, is very pleasantly situated in a quiet wooded residential area. Just a couple of minutes by car to the sea front. The totally enclosed garden to the rear is not overlooked in any direction and affords views across open fields and towards the Brendon hills beyond. The promenade and sea can just be glimpsed from the kitchen. and now has end doors Sleeps up to 2 guests in one double bedroom Lounge with French doors onto the patio and the garden Gas fired central heating, plus log effect electric fire Wifi, heating and electricity included Towels and bed linen provided Pet welcome (1 max) for supplement of £15 Private and enclosed garden with outside table and chairs Arrive from 4.30 pm Depart by 10.30 am Saturday changeover
There is one large bedroom which was formerly two and so has plenty of storage with a large glass fronted wardrobe. The lounge of equal size has two French doors which really opens up the area (weather permitting) and leads directly onto the patio.
There is a compact utility/storage room adjacent to the hall mainly for the owners effects but you are welcome to make use of this.
The newly replaced and extended decking is ideal for relaxing and taking in the view plus watching the sunsets across Blue Anchor bay that can be absolutely stunning. The former shed has just been replaced (April 2025) and converted to a small conservatory to further enhance the country view.
You are welcome to bring your dog, for £15 supplement (1 maximum), but please do not leave your dog alone in the property at any time. Thanks for your cooperation.
Indoor Description The front door leads into a compact hall with access to the kitchen which is provided with table and two stools and outlooks over rear garden affording country views from your seating area. The usual white goods are all there except a dishwasher and there is ample cupboard storage. Plenty of cutlery and china provided along with an array of utility items. The combi boiler gives virtual instant hot water on demand. Also off the hall is a small utility room, primarily for owners storage but is available to guests.
Further access from the hall into the spacious lounge equipped with small table and two chairs. A 27" monitor and printer with connecting leads for your use should you wish. There is also a log effect electric fire. The lounge TV provides Freesat channels.
Sofa with cushions and an armchair with footstool further compliment the living area. Lighting from smart bulbs can be dimmed or simply turned off and on. The Wi Fi router is situated in this room and is unlimited. Double French doors lead directly onto the patio.
A further door gives access to the double bedroom with a large glass fronted three door wardrobe, bedside units, two chest of drawers and two bedside lights, also an LCD clock, plus two small chairs. All linen is provided.
Gas fired central heating radiators are fitted in kitchen, hall, lounge and bedroom plus one storage radiator in the lounge as backup for the Autumn/Winter months.
All utilities plus Wi-Fi and linen are included in the price.
Outdoor Description There is a patio large enough to include table and chairs for you to relax and take in the view under wind out awnings .For the bigger view smaller table and chairs are provided for sitting on the elevated new decking that surrounds the garden shed. From here you may be able to glimpse the West Somerset Railway steam trains as they make their way, hard at work up Washford bank. Most certainly you will hear them. There is a summer house but this is mainly for storage of the table and chair and refuse bin items. The garden is suitable for your pet in that it is totally enclosed.

Blue Anchor is a quiet coastal village on the West Somerset shore, with 1.5 miles of beach and views across the Bristol Channel to Wales.
The village sits between Minehead (4 miles east) and Watchet (3 miles west) on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Blue Anchor Bay is a long stretch of sand and shingle, popular for beachcombing, fossil hunting, and simply enjoying the wide open seascape. The Driftwood Cafe on the seafront serves breakfast, lunch, and cream teas, and The Smugglers pub provides a traditional village local.
Getting Around
Blue Anchor has its own station on the West Somerset Railway -- a heritage steam line running between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard. The trains run regularly during the season and make a wonderful day out in their own right, but the station also provides a scenic way to reach Minehead, Dunster, Washford, and Watchet without the car.

Watchet (3 miles west) is a characterful harbour town with independent shops, cafes, a marina, and a small museum. Minehead (4 miles east) is the nearest large town, with supermarkets (Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl), high street shops, banks, and a wide sandy beach. It is also the starting point of the 630-mile South West Coast Path.
Dunster (5 miles) is one of the finest medieval villages in England, with its hilltop castle (National Trust), octagonal Yarn Market, and a main street lined with independent shops, tea rooms, and galleries. Cleeve Abbey (English Heritage), just 1 mile inland from Blue Anchor, is a remarkably complete medieval monastery well worth a visit.
