This quiet, spacious, contemporary-style 2 Bedroom 2.5 Bathroom mews house is in an amazing location in South Kensington just 1 minute’s walk from Gloucester Road station and close to most of London’s main museums – the Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum. Cromwell Road leading to Harrod’s and Knightsbridge is moments away. London’s main sights – Buckingham Palace, Westminster, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, London’s theatres, the Tower of London and much more are easily accessed quickly and directly from Gloucester Road tube station, making this a great base for touring central London. There is a wide range of restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets within 1-2 minutes’ walk.

Live like a local and enjoy full independence in this good size (108 square meters / 1165 square feet), well-laid out and well-equipped 2 Bedroom 2.5 Bathroom mews house over 3 floors (no elevator) which is ideally suited to families, couples and even single guests in need of plenty of space. With Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park just 11 minutes’ walk away, you are also in walking distance of the Royal Albert Hall and High Street Kensington, one of the premier shopping streets and Kensington Church Street, where you can find a range of unique art, antique and other shops.

Your house is located in quiet Georgian mews. The entrance to the house takes you right into a hallway off which is the second bedroom, with Double bed, wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom with shower. The staircase to the left in the hallway takes you up to the 1st floor, where the larger Master Bedroom is. This has a Uk king-size (=US Queen size) bed with wardrobe, drawers and a stunning ensuite bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. Outside on the landing is the guest bathroom with a toilet and wash-hand basin.

The very spacious living room occupies the top (2nd) floor of the house. Its long, curved ceiling with skylights as well as long windows on both sides makes this a very bright and airy place to relax in an open-plan Lounge, dining area and kitchen. The spacious Lounge has two very comfortable 2 seat sofas and an armchair by a decorative fireplace. There is a flat-screen Smart TV in the corner with Freeview channels. Several pieces of art decorate the walls making this a really enjoyable place for the family to unwind. Free WiFi is to be installed soon.

There is a dining table and chairs for 4 in one corner of the living room. The well-equipped kitchen has a 4-ring electric hob, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster and kettle. A range of saucepans is provided along with all of the cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glass you may need for your stay. There is a washing machine and a separate dryer in the garage.

The beds have Egyptian cotton sheets and a quality floor mattress can be provided, on request, with linen, pillows etc, for a 5th guest. Quality towels are provided with a full set for each guest in your party. Housekeeping is included every week but can be provided more frequently for a supplement.

Between Cromwell Road, Kensington Gardens and High Street Kensington, you will enjoy walking around the immediate area of your apartment, where the garden squares, range of individual shops, restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets and more gives this part of South Kensington its own flavour. There is a Waitrose supermarket 1 minute’s walk away in the small shopping mall by Gloucester Road station open from 7.30 a.m. up to 10.00 p.m. Gloucester Road has the restaurants and coffee shops of many major brands many just 1 minute from the mews house. Also on Gloucester Road and just 2-minutes’ from the mews house, you can find The Hereford Arms – a very atmospheric pub. Walk a little further along Stanhope Gardens and Harrington Road to the area around South Kensington station and you will find yourself truly spoilt for choice from the wide range of restaurants close by in South Kensington, with restaurants offering a wide range of cuisines to suit a wide range of budgets.

Perfect trip

Spent Christmas here and it was one of the better VRBO rentals we’ve stayed in. Convenient location to everything, yet away from the crowds of central London. Property was well maintained and comfortable, and the management team was quickly responsive to any question. Only drawback: WiFi was intermittent and slow, even with frequent rebooting (it was a 5G router in a window, not a wired connection). But, would happily stay again.

Centrally located, there is everything you need within 1-2 mins and major tourist attractions nearby. The property was nicely decorated and clean. Great location - but some things to know

Covenient location around the corner from Gloucester Tube station, grocery store, drug store and restaurant options. Communication with property manager was excellent. A couple things to know:- because of good location near everything, expect to hear some street noise throughout the night including sirens, etc.- the mews house faces an alley and the back of all the restaurants on Gloucester Road. Expect some smells from exhaust fans if you open the windows and we heard delivery trucks as late as 10pm and early as 5am- windows on the back side of the apt. are frosted and you cannot see out of them so if a lot of natural light is important to you, keep that in mind- the configuration of the apt. is a little strange and in my opinion really only sleeps about 3 comfortably. The first bedroom is downstairs immediately when you walk in the door. The bedroom is very small, has no windows, and has a small double bed - it would be very tight for 2 adults. The second floor has the main bedroom with a queen and 1 1/2 bathrooms. The third floor has the living room, dining space and kitchen. We were traveling with our young adult children. They are opposite gender so didn't want to sleep in a small double bed together. We got the "floor mattress" for our son but the only place to put it was in the closet. In other words not ideal for 4 adults. Would probably be ok for a family traveling with small children as long as they were ok with sleeping downstairs

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT

This mew is by far the most perfect VRBO we have ever experienced. It was exceptionally clean and smelled good. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked as far as dishes, utensils etc. Location was close to everything just as the listing states. Beautiful neighborhood, great to walk to everything. Robert was always prompt on his responses and upon arrival the manager was there to meet us and show us around. I have zero complaints. We all had a great time in a beautiful city. Thank you very much!!! We have decided when we go back to London, this is where we will be staying. Highly recommend.

Great location; super clean!

We stayed here for 8 days at the end of July/August 2023 with a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers). This was the cleanest VRBO we’ve stayed at, the beds were very comfortable, and kitchen was well stocked. The owner offered two standalone AC units for an extra fee and we used one for the main bedroom. The VRBO description is very accurate. The location is a 1-2 minute walk to the Gloucester Road Station, as well as great coffee shops (Paul’s, Gail’s). There is also a Tesco, Waitrose, and Boots next to the tube entrance. The downstairs bedroom on the ground level only has a small outside window in the bathroom that does not open, which make for a warm, stuffy room if you decide to close the door for privacy. Since the main doors to the townhouse have windows and are only partially covered, our teens were not comfortable leaving it open. Instead, by mid-vacation both ended up sleeping on the top floor where fans could direct air from an open window at night. I’d highly recommend a sleep sofa up there! The washing machine and dryer work well, and there is also a drying rack and place to dry wet umbrellas in the garage overnight. We would have liked an extra set of towels for a week-long stay, but washed them mid-week. Robert was very responsive to all of our questions leading up to the stay and able to be reached during the stay. Thank you very much for everything!

Great Location

The property location is unbeatable. The home was surface clean and comfortable. However, the condo was in dire need of some TLC. There was a gaping crack on the wall on the landing. The home needed to be painted and the rugs and furniture steam cleaned. The property manager came immediately and tried to spot clean the rugs, but they were in dire need of professional care..

Favourite destinations include Koh Samui, Thailand; Palawan, Philippines; Luang Prabang, Laos; Dambulla, Sri Lanka and many, many more. My favourite food choices pretty much reflect where I love to go. As I am not always in London, I have some friends from the industry who look after my guests and my properties for me.
