Town: The pretty market town of Evesham lies within the Vale of Evesham, in a horseshoe of the River Avon, within driving distance of Worcester, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon. Evesham and the surrounding area is famous for its market gardening and the town has an array of individual shops, tea rooms, craft and antique shops, many traditional pubs, an Art Deco cinema and thriving arts centre. Steeped in history and mentioned in the Domesday Book, Evesham has a number of beautiful black and white timbered buildings, namely the 15th century merchants house in the Market Square, and the remains of Evesham Abbey are believed to date back to the 8th century. The area offers many lovely walks with Shakespeare’s Avon Way, Wychavon Way and The Heart of England Way all close by.
