Waterfront gite - La Petite Forge 4P

Gîte for 4 to 6 people, on the water's edge in a large 3-hectare wooded park in a former 18th century forge built by Georges-Louis LECLERC, Comte de BUFFON (French naturalist, mathematician, biologist, cosmologist, philosopher and writer 1707 - 1788).

The former workers' building has been converted into 2 adjoining gîtes.

This advert only concerns the Petit Gîte (sleeps 4 to 6), each with its own entrance and independent living area.

If you love walking or boating (boats and floating pontoons are available), fishing, sightseeing, free-range chickens (and their fresh eggs), this is the gîte for you!

The "Petit Gîte" includes :

- Kitchen
- Living room (with 2-seater sofa bed)
- 2 bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: 1 x 160cm bed
Bedroom 2: 2 single beds

2 foldaway beds available

- Bathroom with bath
- Separate WC

Electric heating, heated floor and open fireplace (wood available).

Children's games, table tennis, rowing boats and fish pond available.

WIFI internet access is available to guests.

They have been converted from the former workers' quarters of a forge built in the 18th century by Georges Louis Leclerc, Count of Buffon.

You'll enjoy 3 hectares of wooded parkland and the immediate proximity of water.Access to your accommodation is via a stone bridge - that's it, you're on holiday on your own island!

Wonderful stay with my family; look forward to return!

Beautiful historical site in nature and in the middle of rivers like on an island, close to many interesting sites to visit with direct access to Canal de Bourgogne for a walk or for a ride; nice accomodations; it was much more comfortable for us to rent the 2 houses as we were 9 people ; the children's grandmother was thus able to have her own room on the ground floor! good communication with the owners and the lady settled next to the houses was very nice and available! THANK YOU.

2025. 21 års Jubilæum på La petite Forge, og vi kommer igen, igen !

Oplev stedet selv. Er du til det rustikke Frankrig ( og hvor kommer man det nærmere end i det landlige Bourgogne ) er det stedet. Smuk natur omkring stedet som jeg altid elsker at gense. Kulturhistoriske oplevelser. Muligheder for at lege med det franske køkken i egen hyggelig bolig/køkken efter indkøb på det lokale marked eller nyde "de lokale" ! Er man til små hyggelige dagture i området er der masser at opleve i rigtig mange år :)

Vi er i hjertet af Bourgogne, og med områdets historie / kultur er der uanede områder at gå i gang med at udforske. For os er toppen på Kransekagen stedet hvor man bor. La Petite Forge som er historisk. Man bor ligesom på en ø mellem floden La Brenne og Canal de Bourgogne; ubeskriveligt smukt. Her er der en kæmpe "grund" med masser af plads til såvel hunde som mennesker. Stedet til ro og en god bog. Lokalt marked, råvarer til at trylle med i køkkenet,og en smuk kulisse til at nyde maden og vinen

Zeer vriendelijke gastvrouw, gezellig huisje met een zeer mooie tuin. De sluis ernaast maakt wel lawaai, dus daar moet je rekening mee houden. Slaapkamer was vochtig ,maar dat komt doordat ze in April water binnen hebben gehad, maar er wordt alles aan gedaan om er fijn te verblijven.
