Step out of the front door and you are practically on the seafront, and a short walk to the abundance of cafés, restaurants and bars in this pretty seaside town.
Longsands Beach is one of the top beaches in the area, popular with surfers and sun bathers backing onto the cliff behind. Tynemouth is a fabulous place to stay with something for all ages, with a choice of beaches, a lovely flat promenade which stretches all the way to Whitley Bay, and Tynemouth Priory, which sits on the cliff top and often hosts music events in the summer. This comfortable apartment has lovely airy ceilings and Victorian charm throughout, a fabulous base for exploring the town and beyond. With an abundance of restaurants, cafés,pubs and wine bars catering for all tastes, the choice from your doorstep is terrific. Stroll along the promenade to Whitley Bay and Cullercoats, perhaps stopping off for a coffee or a glass of champagne in the champagne bar in the Spanish City, home of a well-known fish and chip parlour.
Tynemouth has a marvellous indoor market on a weekend, known locally as the ’Covent Garden of the North’ located in the Victorian era metro station, a wonderful experience on a weekend to browse around the many vintage and modern stalls under cover. Newcastle is only a few stops on the metro, home to the famous quayside and Tyne Bridge, steeped in history with a multitude of shops, bars, galleries and theatres, where you will be sure of a real warm ’Geordie welcome. Travel a few miles up the Northumberland coast peppered with castles and little villages or go west over to Hadrian’s Wall and discover a roman fort. The apartment is a great base to explore the many delights and visitor attractions in this super friendly part of the North East of England. Beach 250 yards.
