Traditional gite but with all mod cons.

Spacious, comfortable gite although as the weather was so good spent most of time by or in the pool. Good location for exploring the Dordogne. Nearby Issigeac is a little gem with a really great Sunday market.

A fantastic break

A relaxing spacious gite with a good sized swimming pool, all amenities very nearby and the Crystelle who looked after the swimming pool for us for the fortnight, nothing was too much trouble.

Fabulous Fontoursine

One of the best kept and well equipped holiday homes I have rented. The pool is marvellous and the on-site service of 5star standard. The countryside around the house is so peaceful.

lovely house in beautiful woods

The house is large and comfortable and has an excellent pool and outdoor sitting area. For us, with two members of our party with mobility problems, it was almost ideal as it’s all on one level.

Fontoursine Holiday

We have stayed in a number of Gites in the Dordogne for a number of years now but this one is by far the best place we’ve stayed in. The location being 10 minutes drive to Bergerac airport and within easy access to the Bastide towns makes it an ideal base to explore the area. The property has everything you need and the manager, Chrystelle was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely return to Fontoursine again in future

If you enjoy table tennis, cycling, swimming as well as lazing around the pool this is great. Everything you want is there and quality. Gas plate BBQ . We enjoyed 2 very comfortable beds. Hot showers. And a great quiet environment. We have been to the Dordogne 6+ times and this is the best by far. Blow your budget, book and enjoy - we did

Welcome stay with friends for 2 weeks and good weather shops a short drive away and Bergerac a nice day out wish we had booked flights from Bergerac airport, there was no hot tub which was on the list of items

An oasis in the French countryside

This is simply the best French property we have ever stayed in. More a country estate than merely a house. Standing in huge gated grounds the house is a substantial old longeur with masses of charm. All rooms are very generous, with a huge vaulted kitchen diner, lovely separate sitting room, generous pretty bedrooms and well equipped bathrooms. The house very easily accommodates eight adults.Outside is a lovely terrace for dining next to the amazing pool. Perfect for chilled days. This is the perfect place for a complete escape but still within easy reach of local villages and Bergerac for great restaurants. Don’t miss the Sunday market at Issigeac!

Better than anticipated

The discription and photographs do not do justice to this property. It is beautiful. The amenities are above expectations. Everything was provided. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need. Five stars plus.

Lovely property and lovely location. Solange was very efficient and helpful at check in and departure. The pool was fab and kept a good temperature using the cover at night. We did alot of cooking and there was plenty of equipment, crockery and glassware. The cooker and hob were easy to use and there is an outside hot plate but it was a little too cool at night for us to use. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious, with good sized rooms. The toilets and shower rooms worked well for our party. The local town of Issignac is very pretty and lots of restaurants. We explored around the house using the bikes and on foot. There is so much to do and we also went kayaking on the Dordogne and wine tasting at the local vineyard as well as visiting local bastide towns. Great stay and hope to return.

Total peace and tranquillity at Fontoursine

This property affords all modern conveniences while preserving a rustic feel. It is very charming. The hosting support is excellent, and the pool very well maintained. Here you can enjoy an amazing array of wildlife and wild bird song undisturbed, while the speciality "vins liquereux" vineyards are also on your doorstep. Just a little distance away are the Vezere and Dordogne valleys, with gorgeous villages and prehistoric sites to see. There is something for everyone in the area. We recommend this property highly.

Just perfect

The pictures on the site do not do the property justice. It really is a home form home with everything you could wish for. Communication with host and property manager was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The property itself was spotless on arrival. Plenty of everything. We have had a great holiday and hope to come back one day in the future. Tranquility and all you could need

The property is within easy reach by car from Bergerac airport or station. It is surrounded by lush farmland and has complete privacy and safety for little ones. The owner and keyholder were totally welcoming. The house is beautiful and extremely well resourced, even central heating and air conditioning units. A super swimming pool, bikes, table tennis and loads more. There is masses to do in the region - fabulous markets, medeival historic towns, good cycling countryside, river canoing not too far away, fabulous produce and restaurants. And loads of nature. A tranquil and very very comfortable and easy stay.

Just right for us.

Lovely holiday had by all, in this beautiful house. The house ticked all our boxes, plenty of indoor and outdoor space, clean airy rooms, and of course the pool area, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. Ate most days outside, as weather so good. The house was lovely and cool, on those hot days, though the garden has plenty of shade, if required We are a family of 6 adults, who love to holiday in France. The area has plenty to offer, from the market in Issigeac, which is a must, it is a lovely friendly town, to wander around, stop for refreshments, and plenty of history too, also a visit the Chateau de Bridoire, and everything inbetween. The family are all in agreement, we will return. Thankyou for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful house.

Nous avons passé une super semaine à Fontoursine.Le jardin est très grand de chaque côté, et il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour ne pas s'ennuyer (on a quand même ramener quelques extra : cage de foot, raquette de ping pong supplémentaire, molquille etc), même dans la maison nous n'avons manqué de rien, tout est pensé pour nous facilité la vie pendant le séjour. Par contre, mise à part quelques visites assez proche, certaines sont plus loin, c'est normal à la campagne mais c'est plus agréable de faire une heure de route en dordogne que en région parisienne alors ça n'était pas un problème.

Trés belle maison, dans un grand parc , au calme , chacun y trouve son coin de détente. Equipement complet et fonctionnel. Chrystelle redoutable d'efficacité à l'arrivée et au cours de la semaine. Un temps spendide qui nos a permis de demarrer l'année en prenant l'apéro au soleil. Cette maison et son propriétaire ont cette faculté rare de rendre les semaines trés courtes et de vous donner envie d'y revenir trés vite. En plus il nous reste la superbe piscine à découvrir.... Encore merci.

Très bon choix

C'est la première fois que nous choisissons cette formule de vacances et c'était une très bonne expérience que nous espérons pouvoir renouveler! Excellent séjour dans un cadre idéal

Maison spacieuse et très bien équipée permettant de vivre en plein cœur de la nature tout en bénéficiant d’un excellent confort de vie. Vous pourrez vous détendre dans le vaste jardin, plonger dans la piscine, faire des balades en forêt, visiter cette magnifique région, mais aussi grâce à l’équipement mis à disposition vous connecter pour travailler à distance sans aucun problème. Family house in the heart of a farm bought in 1956 by my parents.
Since I have chosen another profession, I have kept this farm of 17 ha of woods and meadows surrounding the house.

Why they chose this property

Since I live in the Paris area for work, and I cannot be in this house during the whole year, I renovated it and I have chose to rent it to maintain a constant high-level of amenities.

What makes this property unique

With 300 m of private access and an electric gate, this house is at the centre of a fenced park of 17 ha, ideal for relaxing and quiet holidays without being isolated from everything.
You will enjoy the private pool in complete peace.
The village of Issigeac is 3 km away and less than 5 min by car. It offers all the amenities like doctors, pharmacies, minimarkets, bookshops, butcheries, restaurants, bakeries and pastry shops... and let's not forget the well-known Sunday market.
Right in the Perigord Pourpre, in the middle of the AOC vineyards of Bergerac, you are also 5 km from the Castle of Monbazillac and its unique white wine.
Numerous outstanding sites and castles are in close proximity and they confirm the richness of the heritage of the Perigord Pourpre.
