Thank you Denise for your kind review. We have really tried to make improvements from this winter and spring where the weight of the snow on the roof caused leaking during the spring rains. A new roof has made the world of difference making our Pyramid House now worry free from any moisture and musty smells after all the damp drywall had been replaced. With our new management and cleaning service, MY PYRAMID HOUSE has been able to concentrate on the details making the house a first rate place to vacation. It already was the largest home to rent in Clear Lake and our location has always been a big hit with our guests. We are glad that you like the tremendous space and all the different living areas and kitchens that make it easy for large families to cater to all the variety of family member needs. There is so much Clear Lake has to offer and I am thrilled to hear you really enjoyed the Pyramid House and will visit us again. You will be welcomed with open arms as you were so easy to work with and communicate with. Thank you for your comments. We were working on repairs and remodeling and now that we finished after your stay it is a much better house. It was getting better every week as we try to work on things between guests but it is difficult when we have families stay practically every week. I appreciate the comments both good and bad. We have had 100 mph wind storm and damage across Iowa. We were lucky it was just a 4 sq ft area out of The 5,600 sq ft House that was damaged and now that we know we can fix it easily. The lake bugs are not as easy to fix as brand new homes all over Clear Lake have similar problems as it is a lake town with city wide problems during certain times of the year. As far as the ice maker not working Is simple... it is not suppose to work as there is not a water line hooked up to the 2nd refrigerator in the party room. We have 3 refrigerators and freezers in house and I always suggest to buy some ice especially when you have a group of 26-30 people stay at any house. Toilet paper and other items are provided as a starter supply and not expected to last a long time when 26 guests are in the house. I take Blame for not greeting you and explaining Details. My property manager must have forgot to inform you when she met you. I am thrilled to hear you had a GREAT WEEKEND and the parking and size of the house fit your needs for your large family of 26. We would have loved to had the whole family of 31 there To enjoy it with the rest of your family. I think we are the only rental house in Clear Lake that can even handle a group of 18 let alone 30. Thank you for your nice comments. We are glad you loved it. We have put in a lot of money (about $30,000) into the house since we started renting it out. We have new management and a new cleaning company plus hired a laundry service for washing all our sheets and towels. We are very spacious as we are the largest rental in Clear Lake with 5,600 square feet. I am glad we could accommodate your large group. Thank you for your cooperation. I will absolutely rent to you again in the future.

We have completed our remodeling and replaced the roof soon after your family left. The problem was that when we try to get the work done we need to cancel family's reservations and no one including your family wanted us to cancel even though we warned you of the problems or two bedrooms needing remodeled. It is impossible situation. We cancel your reservation and you are upset... we have 2 bedrooms needing work and you are complaining of the space. We are as advertised as we sleep a lot of people. We have had as many as 30 people stay but some slept on couches and blow up air beds. We have had many visitors after your stay and with our improvements the reviews are good. I am sorry that the timing of your stay did not allow us to finish the work prior to your visit. We are so popular that it makes it difficult to work in the property when we have guests staying all the time. We have many return families that visit us again and you do not see those reviews because they book directly with me. I wish you could see those great reviews. The house is amazing now with a $16,000 makeover and replaced roof and is completely water tight. We feel sorry that the house experienced a terrible winter with 30 inches of snow that lasted into early spring and then all the rain. We have small areas on each level that has flat roofs and those kind of roofs do not do well with heavy weight of wet snow then thaws and freezes and thaws and freezes over and over again. I was going to cancel the stay with this family but they did not want me to do that. They wanted to keep the reservation even with the forewarned leaking areas in a vey small parts of the house... less that 8% of the 5,600 square feet was not able to be used. My younger brother and best friend had just died from a heart attack. He happened to be my maintenance guy also. Timing was terrible and thus why they were told before they arrived. VRBO advised me to not to be influenced if people try to black mail me for money if they threaten with a bad review and do not understand our situation. I really wanted to work something out but I admit I did not reply like I should have because of my brothers death. Time has passed then I saw this review. I am sorry but timing of the bad winter and mother nature can not be helped. Now that we have a water tight and leak free house the damaged ceilings and walls have been cut out and replaced with new and painted and now looks great and no musty like smell. A totally different place. What also helps is a new cleaning crew that has done a wonderful job and has provided guest with a clean and comfortable HUGE house since the end of June. Future reviews should reflect a much better review and attitude.

We are sorry and want to clarify things. We did talk to them before they arrived ... I did explain to them the 30 inches of snow during the last month of the late winter or early spring did not really give us a Spring Cleaning period and was going to cancel reservation before their arrival....because of some issues. ( we started a construction projects outside and inside and the guests decided not to have us paint as there would be paint fumes in the house) The decision was made not to cancel the reservation as the house was very comfortable inside and still gave them the 5,600 square feet of nice living space. We honored their request for no work done during their stay and They were told if they had any complaints of things that were not up to their satisfaction that they could call out cleaning lady and she would come over and clean and help solve the problem. She actually did come over and resolved the only problem that I was aware of. We just had two other groups in the house just prior to their arrival and they were very satisfied with the Pyramid House. They thought it was great. You can find one of the guests review on the other rent options of this house with VRBO. The house is presently getting a $20,000 face lift with a completion date of June 6th scheduled. I do want to point out if this 5,600 square foot house was in brand new condition ... it would be renting out for more than $300 per night based on a weekly rental... That is less than $50 per bedroom and more than twice the size of 6 hotel rooms … hotels that would charge $600 per night for 6 rooms … and HERE you get both kitchens and theater room and all the amenities. The house is priced accordingly and a GREAT value. The Pyramid House is a huge home that accommodates large families and understands that with large families staying in the house every week and the house is so huge it takes a lot to clean. If we miss something we always say to give us a call and we will have the cleaning ladies come over right away. We strive to please every family and have had a good track record with our many return visitors and guest that rent form us... We are about 100% booked for the summer because of the value and past reputation. July Update: House is completely water tight and leak free NOW...YEAH ! Roofers completed 1st floor replacement on June 6th but found other leaking on 2nd level roof which caused 1st floor leaks. Replacement could not be done with guests in house until late June.
