Treknow Summerhut

Enjoy breathtaking sea views at Treknow Summerhut, situated within walking distance to the North Cornwall town of Tintagel.



The hut provides a comfortable stay for two, within a self-contained annex in Treknow. The North Cornwall coastal footpath can be found on your doorstep, with the tidal beach of Trewarmett Strand within walking distance. Great for swimmers and surfers, or for those who just want to watch the world go by the 'Crows Nest' raised balcony offers uninterrupted sea views across green fields towards the Atlantic Ocean.



Set within an area of outstanding natural beauty, it's a perfect spot for enjoying a local Cornish hand-crafted gin, evening glass of wine or summer BBQ at sunset.



The hut includes a sofa seating area, electric effect fireplace and TV. Although small, the kitchenette provides a small fridge, separate 31 litre 4 star freezer, microwave, toaster, Ninja Max 9.5 ltr air fryer, 5 plate dishwasher and iron/ironing board. Guests have use of their own private en-suite bathroom with shower, basin, hairdryer, and WC.



Tintagel is famous for its connections to the legendary King Arthur with Tintagel Castle resting atop a cliff and boasting dramatic seaside views. Resting below the castle ruins is also Merlin's Cave, another historic attraction well-worth the visit. Further afield is the popular award-winning town of Bude with its beaches and ample opportunities for water sports. An excellent base to explore 'Kernow', with some of the country's most beautiful coastlines and beaches on your doorstep!

Perfect for what I wanted.

The location was amazing, out of the hussle and bussle of Tintagel, an amazingly quiet spot with fabulous views from the crows nest over to the sea. The bathroom tap broke but it didn’t hinder mt stay, all of the facilities were amazing for such a small space, lots packed in, very quirky and comfortable.

Perfect in every way

Literally on the coastal path with fantastic walks both ways. Tintagel is a lovely little town with a useful Spar and lots of coffee shops and breakfast cafes. The accommodation is small but also very comfortable and fully-equipped.

A super friendly welcome to excellent accommodation. A perfect location with very easy access to the south west coastal path. We enjoyed the 30min stroll into trebarwith strand and lunch at the pub there.

My recent stay at this holiday cottage was absolutely magical! This place is a true oasis of peace, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage is incredibly cozy, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped – everything you need is right there. The surroundings are breathtaking – beautiful nature, fresh air, and wonderful tranquility. Mornings on the terrace with a cup of coffee and the sound of birds singing are pure bliss! The owners are extremely kind, very helpful, and take care of every detail to ensure a comfortable stay. If you&#39re looking for a place to relax, be close to nature, and enjoy complete comfort – this is the perfect choice! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely wonderful stay at Summer Hut! Nigel was an exceptional host - so warm and welcoming, and he was kind enough to provide milk, juice, and a variety of snacks upon my arrival. The Summer Hut had everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay - fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, and even an air fryer! The amenities were top-notch, and the location was perfect. I couldn't recommend Summer Hut (or Nigel's hosting skills) highly enough! Can't wait to come back

This beautiful cosy little place was perfect for visiting the local surroundings.

It was as described and more.... so many handy extras including a little dishwasher, fridge/freezer, air fryer, ironing board plus lots more. Nigel was very friendly and welcoming and we would definatly stay again.

This is a quirky venue which resembles a caravan in layout. Very friendly owner. Everything was over-technical. I had to ring the owner to find out how to work the shower! There was no kitchen sink so we had to wash up in the bathroom basin. It had a very narrow double bed.

Quirky, cosy and comfotable with a lovely sea view.

We loved sitting in the crows nest, soaking up the sun and admiring the sea view. The summerhut was a cosy and comfortable space to snuggle when the weather turned wet + windy. The kitchen facilities were limited especially not having a hobkitchen sink was tricky. It would also have been nice if the outside shelter under the crow's nest was more weather proof.

The location , the owner Nigel genuine welcome , a bottle of wine in the fridge , milk and a few snacks . Bedroom and bathroom designs , great shower . The crows nest . Easy access to the walking path with an in house gate . Instead of a tiny hob that's in my opinion inadequate for the size of the hut , the mess it create and the 2 smoked detectors inside , a 2 drawer air fryer that are filtered equipped would be more appealing to anyone's that may want to stay in and have a meal during bad periods of weather . Having the crows nest upper floor sonehow sealed so that when raining the lower part can be used for drying wet clothing and boots .

Just what I needed for a peaceful break. I intend to return.

The accommodation was perfect for my needs. Quiet, self-contained and I felt very safe there. The host lives next door, but was unintrusive and respectful of my space. Incredible views over the Atlantic from the Crows Nest. The host met me on arrival to hand over the keys and was there for me to hand them back at the end of my stay. The property sits very close to the coast path and walking in either direction was a joy, although, of course, requires a certain level of fitness. Driving further afield is very easy. The kitchen area has a kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave which was plenty for my needs. Don't expect to be cooking meals there as the only sink is in the bathroom.

Great host and great location. Relaxing and peaceful

The summerhut is in a lovely peaceful area and was easy to locate. The crows nest balcony area is a great place sit and relax with no distractions and nicely placed away from traffic with great views. The host Nigel greeted us as we arrived and saw us off when leaving, he also gave us directions to the coastal walks and was very friendly and welcoming. he left some milk, orange juice and some snacks in the property too which was a nice touch. The coastal walks were stunning and great place to go and watch the sunset in the evenings, and to go for a stroll in the day. The town is less than 5 mins drive away and had some really nice shops to explore as well as king Arthur’s castle tour. The Summerhut was cosy and had heating and a fan so was perfect to keep warmcool and the shower was lovely. It was also very clean and well kept. Easy parking at the property and it was tucked away nicely with not much foot traffic. All in all it was a lovely stay and my partner and I are already discussing coming back here! The perfect getaway for a couple wanting somewhere out of the way and peaceful. You can’t really cook there but it pays off as the pub down the left of the coastal path has amazing food so it meant we had some great dinners! I also can’t cook anyways so it didn’t really phase me haha!

Perfect little place

We had an amazing few days at the summerhut! Its location so close to the sea and the coastal path made it perfect for a glass of wine on the sheltered terrace in the evening and the Studio itself provided a comfy place to spend time when the weather wasnt on our side. It&#39s also close to many interesting places like Boscatles beautiful harbour, Port Isaac, and walking Distance from Tintagel, which makes it a grear base for exploring the North of Cornwall. Can not recommemd enough :)
