Fell View - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

As you enter the cottage you will find the useful utility space with washing machine, a handy bench for taking off your boots, and hooks for your walking gear.

Head further through the cottage where you will discover the fabulous kitchen diner with plenty of space to cook, dine and socialise with family and friends. The kitchen is fully-equipped with dishwasher, stove, butlers sink. microwave, and plenty of cupboard/worktop space. There are double doors leading into the inviting living area so you can have this space open plan, or closed for cosier evenings in front of the log burner. Here you will find two plush sofas to curl up on while you enjoy a good book or watch your favourite film on the smart TV.

Moving upstairs, there are two beautifully styled bedrooms, each with quality furniture, mattresses and luxury bed linen for extra comfort. The master bedroom is at the back of the cottage and has a double bed, the twin bedroom to the front of the property can be made up as superking size on request (£15 charge applies).

There is also a peaceful reading room where you can enjoy some R & R.

The impressive shower room has a walk-in shower and a bespoke sink which is a real focal point of the room.

To the rear of the cottage there is a lovely decked patio area with bench seating ideal for sitting out and enjoying warmer days with a glass of wine.

Visitors will not need to worry about where to leave the car as there is private allocated car parking.

The cottage is perfectly placed at the heart of the charming village of Portinscale. The popular Farmer's Arms pub is conveniently only a stones throw away, and The Chalet tearoom, Lingholm Gardens and the marinas also nearby. The views from the cottage are sure to inspire and walkers will delight at what's on offer straight from the front door. Head up Catbells for a fantastic birds eye view of Derwentwater. 10 minutes from the property, the walk takes you along the lakeshore, through woods where Beatrix Potter set some of her best loved books.

A fab cottage!

We loved the cottage, so warm and welcoming. The utility area was very useful for storing supplies and drying the dogs off before they went into the kitchen. We loved the coziness of the lounge with the wood burning stove. The smart TV was easy to use. The only niggle was mould in the shower.

Excellent house for a week in the Lakes

Well appointed and equipped house (too big to be a cottage) with modern clean decoration. Lovely large kitchen and dining area (the cooker is a cracker!) with separate utility room. Only one complaint-the TV could be bigger. We will be back!

A great stay at Fell View

We have stayed in Portinscale for the last 4 years, and this is easily the nicest accommodation we have booked. The cottage is very well kitted out and furnished, the decking is a great bonus when the weather is decent, which it was for the duration of our stay. Very comfortable bed. The only suggestions for improvement would be a bigger tv in the lounge, and it would be great if you could find a way to make the small garden at the front a bit more secure as there is nothing to stop dogs from going up the steps and onto the road. Overall, we had a great stay at Fell View and have already booked up to come back next year!

Fell View, Greet Location

The property is modern and well equipped in an excellent location. We enjoyed great walks such as Catbells from the doorstep, whilst only being a short walk from the centre of Keswick with all of it’s amenities. We did find the access a little tricky, the staircase to the door is fairly steep if you have small children or elderly dogs with mobility issues. The decking is nice but could do with some plants or screening in order to separate it from the neighbours and make it feel more private. We did have some issues with cleanliness, dirty towel (probably missed in error), tissues left in drawers, large cobwebs in bedrooms and the floor under beds / sofas in need of a good clean. Nothing that can’t be rectified with a good “spring clean”. It’s a great weekend base, just wasn’t the correct property for us.

Spacious and comfortable cottage

Fell View is a lovely cottage and even better than the photos on the website. It is more spacious than expected and has been renovated to a high standard. It is less busy than Keswick but only a few minutes away from it by car or a 20 minute walk away from all that it has to offer. We were there for the annual Convention and appreciated the short journey. The cottage is a great centre for exploring the Lakes with great local walks around Derwent Water or up Cat Bells or for going further afield. Keswick Cottages were very helpful and attentive to any requests.

Lovely property in a great location

Lovely property in a great location. Very well equipped and everything was to a high standard. The large parking to the rear was a real bonus, especially when it came to unpacking etc... We managed you use the patio area, which was really nice and we really enjoyed eating our breakfast outside and enjoying some evening drinks on the patio. The beds were comfy, it would have been nicer with lighter weight duvets, as the heavy weight ones in 29 degree heat was a bit much !

Short Stay at Fell View.

This was our first stay at Fell View, but it certainly will not be our last! The cottage has been so tastefully renovated and decorated - it is a true haven for rest, relaxation and recupertation. All needs are catered for, a superb short break.

Lovely Cottage

Last minute booking wasn’t disappointed, cottage was lovely , everything about it, great location very comfortable and clean had everything you needed if you wanted to cook everything was there, the little starter pack of tea coffee cookies was a lovely touch . Have stayed in Portinscale many times and will definitely return to Fell View.

Perfect Cottage for Spring Week

Fell View provided us with the perfect home from home to return to after a long day walking on the fells. We really appreciated the calm feel of the cottage, the impressive hot shower and extremely comfortable bed. Parking was easy and we enjoyed eating outside in glorious May sunshine on the smart decked area. The utility space/boot room also came in really useful for all our walking gear! Portinscale was a pretty and quiet base for our holiday with plenty of lovely walks right from the door as well as excellent pubs and Keswick itself not far away. Thank you for a fabulous holiday!

A perfect home for a weekend get away

It was our first stay in the lakes and the property is everything we wanted and more. The property included everything we needed with lot of added extras. Locations is a gorgeous short walk from Keswick, meaning you can enjoy the business of Keswick or a stroll around the water but return to a quiet place. The outdoor space to the property is perfect if you’re lucky like us to have a few days of sun enjoying breakfast outside or a drink under the stars. Plenty of parking space and easy to travel around the lakes. Thank you for an amazing property to make a perfect weekend

Great location

We enjoyed our stay in Portinscale ,Fell view was a fantastic cottage in a great location. Very comfortable with everything needed, lovely welcome pack for both dogs and humans, we would thoroughly recommend Fell View. Comfortable Clean and Cosy Cottage

Stayed for 3-nights midweek in early May and Fell View cottage was perfect for two of us (but would happily take four). Tasteful decor, clean and comfortable in all respects and in a great location (within easy reach of local Farmer's Arms pub!) Adjacent car-parking always a bonus in a small village and the outside deck enjoyed almost day-long sunshine (luckily for us, shine it did!) Facilities all good - including well-equipped kitchen. Beds comfortable, efficient shower in spacious bathroom. Useful wifi (but almost non-existent mobile phone signal.) Small TV in lounge, comfy sofas and a log-burner (we couldn't get it to work very well!) All in all a great stay, made more so by an excellent team at Keswick Cottages, who were on-the-ball; responsive; friendly; professional and efficient with plenty of useful communication. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!

Simply amazing

We have been coming to Portinscale for a number of years. Fell View had everything we needed, it was cosy with the log burner going after a soggy walk. The little touches such as dog treats made it feel that our dog was welcome. We will be returning. Thanks for a wonderful few days

Short winter break

Upon walking through rear door into boot room it felt warm which gave a welcome home feeling. Lounge is clean comfortable and very cozy. Being unsure of log burner operation caused some initial problems lighting fire, some instructions as to which vent was which would have helped Feeling of warmth and welcome continued upstairs with a well appointed bathroom and really good shower. We know the area well and fortunately we had good weather for our break and took full advantage of the cottages ideal location.

Lovely small cottage

Very nice cottage beautifully appointed in a nice location with pleasant walks to Keswick and amazing views close by. Nice little pub only a short walk. Hard to criticise anything. TV very small but then we were out and about most days!!!

Fell View

Such an amazing stay at Fell View. We loved the cottage and it's location was perfect for us, walks from the door and an easy walk into Keswick. The boot room was a god send for our boots and coats, and the rest of the cottage was so cosy, beds extremely comfortable, shower was lovely. Off road parking was great too. Wish we could have spent longer there and we will definitely be back.

Wow factor

This cottage is now top of our list of go to cottages, it's is modern decorated to a very high standard, it has everything you would need in even down to cozy throws to wrap around, the kitchen was very well equipped again it's among the best ones .we would like to say a massive thank you for the work that had be put into making this cottage a delightful stay
