About this property

Detached Bungalow by the Tweed

Our recently renovated detached bungalow in the beautiful Scottish Borders is a tranquil getaway.
Two bedrooms have ensuite shower rooms and the 3rd bedroom has use of the family bathroom with double ended bath and overhead shower. The open plan kitchen, dining and living area is ideal for socialising, whilst a separate snug/TV room provides a cosy retreat. The bifold doors lead out from the dining area onto a south facing decking and private garden. There is ample parking including a carport.
The house is on the banks of the River Tweed, by the Southern Upland Way, just a10 minute stroll from Melrose, a charming rural town yet with frequent transport links to Edinburgh. Famous for its Abbey and as the home of Rugby Sevens, Melrose has restaurants, coffee houses and an array of independent boutique shops. Abbotsford House, the home of Walter Scott, is a 5 min drive away. Melrose Golf Club is a 9-hole golf course nestled at the foot of the Eildon Hills.
Edinburgh is easily accessible in less than an hour by train or by car, whilst the coast at Berwick Upon Tweed is within an hour’s drive.

The property host was very helpful, quickly responding to any questions we had. The property itself was fantastic - modern, spacious, clean and well furnished. Situated a 30 second walk from the Tweed, this made for many a lovely river walk. Situated on the edge of Melrose, the cottage serves as a great base for exploring the area - which has a lot to offer. Highly recommended!

Beautiful house in a beautiful location, better than expected. Everything you could need with top quality appliances and furnishings. We were lucky to be there in a heatwave so enjoyed sitting out on the patio surrounded by a gorgeous garden. The walk into Melrose along the river is stunning. Would highly recommend.
