This part of Chiang Mai is quite fashionable. It's reminiscent of a blend between Madison Ave and 5th Ave in NYC but with a Thai twist! The area boasts charming shops and eateries, and wandering the side streets (soi's) is always enjoyable for casual browsing. Additionally, there are noteworthy galleries displaying fantastic artworks and a candle store that I particularly love!
