On the edge of splendid Tuscany, almost on the border with Liguria, a few steps away from the sea and the Apennine mountains, surrounded by lush nature, lies La Polletta: an enchanting holiday home that offers its guests a short break from daily life.
La Polletta is an oasis of tranquility immersed in a paradise of Mediterranean scents and colours. Located between Lucca and Pisa, two cities rich in history and culture, this holiday home is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the wonders that Tuscany has to offer.
As soon as you cross the threshold of IL METATO you are greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The interiors are furnished with care and taste, drawing inspiration from local colors and traditions. The walls recall the surrounding nature: outside, centuries-old olive trees, lemons and citrus fruits, colorful flowers that give vitality and joy to the spaces.
The flat is spacious and bright. The furnishings are simple and comfortable, designed to make guests feel at home but away from it. Every detail has been taken care of, to guarantee an unforgettable experience.
Tuscan cuisine is a true culinary treasure. Here, the traditional flavors of local cuisine mix with fresh, quality ingredients, coming directly from local gardens. Many dishes are prepared with love and passion, following recipes handed down for generations. Everything was perfect, right from check in and until we left. Vitoria ensured a flawless property, and the guide Stefano provided us was super helpful. Extremely spacious outside area, and lovely pool. We can really recommend this place.

Pleasant retreat with stunning views.

My wife and I have just returned from a blissful week at this property. Well situated for exploring Tuscany. Lovely views, clean heated pool and plenty of parking. Livio and Vitoria were on hand for anything we needed and the owners communication was excellent.

Well equipped property which was perfect for a couple. Loved the outside space with extensive gardens, lovely pool and fresh herbs to pick and use for home cooking. Vittoria and the owners helped us when we needed it and were highly responsive.

Highly Recommended

The house is absolutely delightful, very comfortable and situated in a lovely location. The terrace, gardens and swimming pool are great. The house is also very well equipped and cosy. Although we sent most of our stay driving round Tuscany perhaps the best day was spent on a sunny day simply enjoying the house, the terrace and the pool. Highly recommended

Great stay at a great location

This is an amazing house. It's located on a hilltop overlooking Camaiore. The house itself is very nice and has all the basics. It's located on the far right of the house so no other guests will bother you. Vittoria is a very nice woman who will help you with anything. The house is also very close to Camaiore (walking distance, although you must climb), Lucca, Pisa, and Viareggio. We recommend it very much.

Cleanest accommodations on VRBO!!!!

This property was better than advertised. Although I was apprehensive about the fine for not properly recycling, it turned out to be just fine. You **NEED** to have a car to access this property - the is no alternative. The views are breathtaking. The location is 30 minutes or 60 minutes away from anywhere you want to go in this region. The kitchen is very well stocked with any tool you may need - rather impressive. The unit I stayed in had the spiral staircase to the bedroom - after a few trips it was easy. The host is gracious and helpful. My end unit would be easily wonderful for a family of 4. Excellent patio area, lounge chairs, BBQ, and table/chairs for 4 people. I'd recommend this place and would consider staying here again, maybe staying a week, and enjoying the property and pool more. The town center is beautiful as well.

Clean, newly renovated house with a beautiful view

We really enjoyed our stay at the little farmhouse Il Metato, which was a bakery in former times! The house was great and especially the garden which its seating outside and also the view from there are beautiful. Everything was well organized and the owner and the staff were really nice and took good care of our comfort. The house offers everything you need for daily use for example for cooking. Everything was really clean and newly renovated and nevertheless the house keeps a special charm of an old homely house. In the time we stayed at the house there were lots of Moskitos so better take some Autan with you. But the sleeping room was preparated with an electric Moskito repellent mashine. In order to reach the house you will definitely need car. We can really recommend Il Metato and enjoyed our days up on the mountain. We would definitely come back again!

We enjoyed our stay at LaPolettas very much. Everything was as described in the online description. The check-in and check-out procedures were very clear and uncomplicated. Overall the accommodation is definitely to be recommended, even wit a small child. In times with the COVID pandemic, the host acted in the proper way and stuck to the hygiene rules; however, the shared pool (which is awesome) is a possible way to get infected. Why? Because no one actually of the other guests stuck to the rules, not to mention that the guests not showered before entering the pool, although clearly pointed out by the host. This ignorance of the other guests in terms of the current pandemic was shocking and made our stay a bit sour. We have not been able to use the pool as we imagined. As I Doctor by myself, it should be made crystal clear that the corona rules have been applied by all guests to make the holiday comfortable to all of them and not only to one family, who also refused to speak English. But that's not the fault of the host.

Fantastic holiday in Camaiore

I spent 10 wonderful days on the estate "La Poletta" with my 16 year old daughter and her boyfriend. Our small house was perfect, quiet, the terrace huge, for breakfast still pleasant cool and in the evening with cozy corner! The best part, what else was the amazing pool with a lot of sun beds and parasols. I even could swim laps and the best time was in the evening with sunsetview behind the mountains!!! And the other guests were hardly noticed, as many were traveling. Vittoria, the housekeeper had everything under control and was available at all times, even at our arrival very late at night! Thank you very much once again. And one more thing, Camaiore is absolutely the best place to stay. Pisa, Lucca are easy to reach, but in the evening you should eat out here - far enough away from the touristic beaches/towns - the restaurants, bars and Cafeterias are wonderfull and cheap with fantastic value. The little town is just magical and it cannot be more local! At the end of our trip to Tuscany we felt home here everytime we past the roundabout on our way up to our lovely accomodation. We will come back, of course again to La Poletta! In addition, I thank Stefano & Margherita, which I unfortunately did not meet. The communication by email and telephone was great and important to me. At any time both were immediately there for my questions! Outstanding landlords!

Dear Tina, thank you for the review. yes we do take renting out seriously and we do try to give guests our best possible service and accomodation. We love our house of La Polletta unfortunately due to the high taxes we have to rent out all of it and so we are very seldom there and instead here in Quattro Castella which is by the way also a beatyful place we rent out(see property 402746)here we can welcome our guests personally what we cannot do in Camaiore where we are magnificantly represented by dear Mrs. Vittoria. We would have loved meeting you personally as we would love meeting all our guests, but it is impossible. What we can do is make them feel at home as if it were their home and put all of what is possible for us at heir disposal. Thank you very much again for your thoughts and it would be our great satisfaction having you back at lovely La Polletta. Stefano & Margherita

Abwechslungsreicher Urlaub

Unsere Wohnung "Metato" in der sehr gepflegten kleinen Anlage war für uns absolut ideal. Viele verschiedene Sitzmöglichkeiten - sonnig oder schattig - mit wunderschönem Ausblick und absolut ruhig. Obwohl zu keinem Zeitpunkt alle Parteien gleichzeitig am Gemeinschaftspool waren, gibt es für jede Partei Liegestühle. Die Wohnung hat eine ordentliche Grundausstattung und war sehr sauber. Die Schnaken am frühen Abend sind etwas lästig, man muss sich frühzeitig einsprühen. Vittoria, die Verwalterin, ist eine Perle. Sie spricht zwar nur Italienisch - mit Zeichensprache und Google-Translate klappt die Kommunikation aber gut. Die letzten 400 Meter bis zur Anlage sind abenteuerlich, da die Straße teilweise extrem schmal ist, viele Schlaglöcher und in Teilen mehr als 10% Steigung hat. Wir hatten unsere Fahrräder dabei und haben dies nicht bereut, auch wenn ich die letzten 400 Meter schieben musste. Der Ort Camaiore bietet gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und viele Restaurants. Die Region ist sehr abwechslungsreich. Der Strand ist nicht weit, die Berge bieten viele Wandermöglichkeiten, Lucca, Pisa und natürlich Florenz bieten sich als weitere Ziele an. Wer nicht mit dem Auto fahren will, kann ab Viareggio oder Camaiore-Lido mit dem Zug fahren. Auch bei Rennradfahreren ist die Region beliebt.

Einmalig und außergewöhnlich!

Das Casetta Metato ist ein kleiner Traum. Inmitten einer parkähnlichen Landschaft mit einem fantastischen Pool bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Vittoria, die Hausverwalterin, ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Einzig ein bellender Nachbarshund oder die täglichen Mäharbeiten aller Nachbarn störten ein wenig. ☺️. Lag aber an der Jahreszeit (Mai!).

Urlaubsresort unter den Sternen

Am Anreisetag wurden wir vorsorglich von Stefano über gesperrte Straßen im Ort informiert, sodass wir uns mit der Hauswirtschafterin Signora Vittoria im Dorf treffen konnten. Diese hat uns netterweise an den Sperrungen vorbeigeführt, den Berg rauf zum Ferienhaus. Sehr aufmerksam! Die Strasse den Berg rauf wird immer steiler, enger und abenteuerlicher, bei den Schlaglöchern sollte man schon aufpassen. Oben angekommen erreicht man dann aber ein schönes und großes Grundstück. Man hat seinen eigenen Platz für sich und kann sehr schnell entspannen. Vom Pool aus hat man eine wunderschöne Sicht auf Bergspitzen und die Sterne :) Vittoria kümmert sich sehr fleißig um den Garten, es sieht alles sehr gepflegt aus. Zu Fuß ist die Dorfmitte sehr gut erreichbar, wo man gut für den Alltag einkaufen oder sich zum Essen/Trinken in eine der Lokalitäten setzen kann. Das Ferienhaus bietet alles für einen Urlaub zu zweit und wir wären so gerne viel länger geblieben!

kleine feine Wohnung

Sehr ruhige Umgebung, man konnte gut entspannen. Der Pool ein absolutes Highlight und durch die tägliche Reinigung immer sauber. Die Wohnung war mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht, nur Gewürze waren nicht vorhanden. Leider war das Geschirr von den Vormietern größtenteils fettig, sodass wir alles vor dem ersten Gebrauch spülen mussten. Die Vermieter und Vittoria waren immer erreichbar und haben gerne weitergeholfen. Alles in allem haben wir eine schöne und erholsame Woche gehab.

Bis auf Kleinigkeiten wirklich zu empfehlen

Das Problem mit den Mücken ist nicht zu unterschätzen. Wofür der Vermieter natürlich nicht verantwortlich ist. Mückenschutz an den Fenstern wäre sinnvoll um lüften zu können ohne anschließende Insektenjagd. Wir haben trotzdem sehr gut geschlafen dank Klimaanlage und der Pool und die Lage und Aussicht sind beeindruckend. Wir haben die Ruhe genossen!

Un paradis en Toscane (Camaiore)

Que du bonheur dans cet havre de paix et calme. Un domaine magnifique et très bien entretenu. Une piscine magnifique avec vu sur les montagnes de Toscane. Stefano et Victoria très serviable. Petite maisonnette avec tout confort et très propre ( linge de maison fourni ainsi que draps de piscine) merci , Grazie, thanks à vous. Je recommande fortement.

Excellent séjour en pleine nature

5 nuits passées dans ce gîte très bien équipé et bien situé au calme en pleine nature en haut de Camaiore. Environnement et piscine très appréciés.

Traumhafte Idylle

Liebe Victoria, es war eine tolle Zeit bei euch. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und hatten eine fabelhafte Zeit. Die Unterkunft war sauber, sehr ordentlich und der Pool war klasse. Es war unser erster Urlaub als Paar und hat uns super gefreut. Alles gute euch

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour l’appartement est parfait pour 2 personne.tranquille avec une jolie terrasse privée et la piscine est magnifique merci
