This spot as well as the region as a whole offer ideal conditions for embarking on hikes in the Thuringian Forest. Popular excursion destinations: the health resort of Masserberg with its bathhouse, either 3.5km on foot or 10 minutes by car. The Wurzelbergfarmde nature reserve or the biggest, most modern pumped storage power plant in Europe is a great place to wander around or visit the cavern. Oberhof with its sports facilities or the world-famous cultural cities of Erfurt and Weimar. It's also not far to the Franconian region in Bavaria. Visit Kronach, Coburg or Kulmbach.
