About this property

Beautiful Waterfront Cottage near Downtown Norfolk- A Peaceful Secluded Paradise

Taking a deep breath and enjoying this amazing view!

This spacious cottage is set back on 0.6 acres with a wonderful view of the Elizabeth River, on a secluded peninsula. It is a very special, unique, private and cozy place right on the river. The new sunroom is a wonderful place to enjoy the warmth of the winter sunrise. We offer:
- A clean beautiful waterfront home
- A beautiful fireplace
- Fresh organic eggs, teas, coffee, juice, snacks... while watching the sunrise over the dock
- WiFi internet and cable TV with HBO
- Great bluetooth speaker system for movies and music
- Luxury bath linens
- New waterview sunroom
- Dish washer/Washer/Dryer

We have registered the business with the city of Norfolk, and the city strictly only allows 2 guests each stay since the place has only one bedroom. For safety, the city also requires us to have a camera in the parking area.

We respond very quickly to your inquiries. We would rent out the place as short-term during January and February. We need a break too 😊.

The cottage interior was recently renovated including a new kitchen and floors. The kitchen is fully equipped including a Keurig coffee machine for your morning coffee or tea to enjoy the sunrise over the water. There is a washer and dryer right in the sunroom for our guests' laundry. There is plenty of parking next to the cottage. We have recently had the back porch closed in with new big sliding windows around. Our guests now can still enjoy the beautiful water view during colder months from the new beautiful sunroom. Providing a great service to our guests is our main goal. We have been working hard on making the place nicer and nicer, improving service to make our guests’ stays more memorable, and always being available to help our guests with any concerns or questions. A 2 night minimum stay required; we only rent out the place for the entire long weekend, Friday through Monday. Thank you!

We have used a part of the money from our rentals to put in an oyster reef along the bank. This will help to improve the ecosystem in the Chesapeake Bay in the long run. Thanks for your stays and many thanks to The Elizabeth River Project.

According to Travelandleisure Magazine, top 20 America’s favorite cities in 2017 were rated and Norfolk has made number 1 this year. It was number 4 in 2016. The cottage is just 5 miles from downtown Norfolk and within walking distance of the Ingleside light rail stop where you can get an all day pass for $4.50 including use of the 10 minutes ferry to Portsmouth, another city right cross from downtown Norfolk on the other side of the river.

Loved this cozy cabin on the river

Everything was top notch. Cabin had lots of charm, hosts provided plenty of welcome snacks and beverages. We loved the outdoor deck on the river and the sunroom with comfy recliners with view of river. Host was very welcoming and always available via text, if needed.

We loved our stay at the cottage. Our first meeting with Andy and Mike as though we had known them a long time. They are so nice. Andy gave us a thorough tour of cottage and how everything worked. This was a delightful stay for my husband and me. I had been to Norfolk many many times growing up in Washington DC in the 60s and 70s but had not returned in many years. This beautiful cottage and setting were wonderful: quiet, peaceful. The cottage is older but the hosts have done a fabulous job of updating it, while still keeping the charm of the original. The location is great, the neighborhood is lovely, safe and one can explore many parts of the area from this spot so easily! I can't say enough positives about this place, and the attention to detail and amenities, furnishings, etc. was outstanding. Thank you!

A wonderful Christmas at the cottage

We had a wonderful Christmas at the cottage! It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, much to our surprise! The fridge was well-stocked with organic eggs, juices, soft drinks, beer and wine in addition to many snacks. Our hosts thought of everything imaginable to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The setting was calm and relaxing. We will be back!

What a beautiful cottage on the Elizabeth River. The hosts Andy and Michael were amazing and thought of every single detail possible! We spent a lot of time on the deck viewing the water and even more time sitting in the sunroom! The fridge was stocked with drinks and snacks for us. The bathroom had any toiletry one could ask for! Perfect Cottage by the Elizabeth River

My husband and I stayed at this cottage for our 10th wedding anniversary. We were met with such kindness by Andy and Michael upon arrival. The cottagw is clean and so relaxing. The provided snacks and drinks were a plus. The patio with reclining chairs was so relaxing and provided a wonderful view of the river with no issues from the weather. This home is small, but absolutely beautiful and perfect for two people. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect relaxing getaway

The best vrbo we have stayed in! Andy is a gem! He met us with the warmest welcome and showed us around. Cottage has everything you need- stocked kitchen, shampoo/conditioner/soap, towels, blankets, cozy furniture, beautiful scenery, book of great recommendations! It was extremely clean and decorated so nicely! Perfect spot to take a book and read by the water or in the sunroom on colder days. Short drive to explore town! I am a Marine engineer, and I enjoy living in this waterfront neighborhood. I have lived in this neighborhood where the cottage is located for more than 25 years. My co-host and I have recently bought this vacation house, and we enjoy hosting guests and showing them the area that we love. There is so much to see and do around the Norfolk area. Getting to Virginia beach is easy, and the Norfolk International airport is only 5 miles away. Thank you for giving us a chance to host you, and we are looking forward to accommodating you and making your stay memorable.

It is a beautiful waterfront cottage right on the cove. Guests will enjoy their coffee in the morning watching sunrise, birds, and dolphins from the private dock. We also offer long stays with a discount for weekly and monthly rentals, and we have had the offered price on the website.

The waterfront view is stunning, and the wildlife is amazing.
We have just got a duel gas/charcoal grill for our guests.
There is a washer and dryer right in the porch. Guests can do laundry without leaving the house.
For safety, the city requires us to have a camera in the parking area.
