Watch Hill Manor is a wonderful place to stay for a trip to Bermuda. The property is located in a lovely neighborhood just a few minutes walk from the beach. The apartment was super clean and the view from the patio can't be beat. Brian and Eneke are wonderful hosts who graciously took us to the grocery store and restaurants on several occasions. Brian assisted with dinner reservations, taxi reservations, charter fishing and even bus tickets. What a fabulous trip! Can't wait to return.
Thanks for taking the time to do a review for us and thanks for the kind words.
We're delighted that you enjoyed your time with us and look forward to your return.
We'll be having Tuna Tacos for dinner this evening, compliments of the Tuna which you both caught, on your fishing trip with Capt. Joey.
Fond memories of out Cook-out, on the day on the fishing excursion on the M.V. Gringo.
All the best to you both and hope it's cooler where you are than it is here in Bermuda today. ( ? ) Nice breeze but it rained early this morning and the humidity is extremely high. :(

Couldn’t be better
I knew I had found the perfect place before we even arrived in Bermuda. Brian was more than helpful with traveling info and finding us the best fishing charter.
(Gringo Charters) First time fishing for Tuna and caught some big ones!
We were welcomed with a fruit platter and enjoyed one of Brian’s rum swizzles (the best on the island) The apartment was spotless and well stocked. The view from our terrace was amazing. The perfect spot for coffee and cocktails. Beach chairs, towels and umbrella were provided. The beach was a short walk from the house and never crowded. The pool was also another great option.
We can’t thank you enough Brian for arranging taxi rides, dinner reservations, and the many tips on how to make the most of our trip. It was difficult to leave at the end of the week. Thanks both to you and your lovely wife. We can’t wait to visit again!! Jeff and Donna

Watch Hill Manor
Quiet, pristine, with every amenity. A perfect get away.
Dear Sue & John,
Lovely to meet you both and do hope to see you again.
Thanks for the review,
Brian & Ineke
A relatively affordable option with excellent views.
Pros: This property has beautiful views overlooking the ocean. The room is spacious, with a bedroom and connecting living room/kitchen. There were fruit and beverages waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived. We were able to check in early through the housekeeper.
1. This is more a function of Bermuda than of anything else, but it is very hard to get around. Because the roads are so narrow, you need to reserve cabs for everything, and even a 5-minute ride will cost $15. You have to order the cabs ahead of time. You have to walk along those roads to get to the beach.
2. Our biggest issue was communication. The host emailed extremely, unnecessarily extensive emails with attachments. He was very particular about the rules of the house, security, the way we shut the blinds, ordering cabs, and even where we went to eat. For example, I was uncomfortable when he chastised me for not "remembering" to bring beach chairs to the beach (which were described in the email attachments), even though we were just exploring and didn't want them. It's all good.
On behalf of the Government of Bermuda, I would wish to appologise for the narrowness of our roads. On behalf of the Bermuda Taxi Operators (BTO) I would also wish to extend our sincere apologies for having to order a taxi ahead of time and also the cost that you encountered. I do realise that the cost of cabs may seem a bit steep but island living does come with costs, that would not normally be applied to one living in the U.S.A.
On behalf of myself and my staff I would also wish to appologise for sending our, Compendium, "Things to know when Arriving in Bermuda", 'Transportation Overview" and also bothering you with information needed to make a reservation at some of our local restaurants. You will recall you did ask me to make a reservation for you, which I did and then I was asked to cancel this, which I also did.
When you or anyone comes for a wedding, they will need to be certain places at certain times, hence why I wanted to make it clear to you, that one needs to book a taxi well in advance.
When you booked into Watch Hill Manor, you arrived with a friend who could not get an early check in at his accommodation. We went out of our way to prepare your room for an early arrival, having our housekeeper come in at an earlier time than usual. (she is very accommodating in situations of this type)
The room was prepared with the added, "Gifts", of soft drinks, beer, sparkling water, still water, cheese & crackers and a fruit platter, all at no cost to you.
To say, "He was very particular about the rules of the house, security, the way we shut the blinds". Yes, we are very security conscious and you are the first to bring to our attention that we are, "Very Particular". I know it was not meant as a compliment ..... but we'll take it as one.
So if you had read the house rules and not just looked at the pictures, you would have seen the rule pertaining to, Guests of House Guests. We ask that you please notify us of their, Names and when they will be on the property. i.e. Before their arrival. So to begin with, you broke the rules. Did we say anything ? No we did not but we were aware of the infringement.
As for, "chastising" you for not taking the beach chairs..........this is a bit over the top. I figured you had forgotten about them, as you and Michael paid little attention to my, 5 min. overview of the apartment.
Note: You missed my famous Banana Muffins on your second morning, due to getting up so late. Sorry!
We loved our stay at Watch Hill Manor ,the 1br unit was exactly as described, extremely clean .The view was gorgeous and location close to beach and bus line.Brian was a great host and was very helpful with information about the area. The restaurants recommended were all fantastic,we were able to walk to the Loren At Pink beach and the grounds and view were stunning. What a nice treat to have had some food and beverages for us on arrival in our fridge ,as well as coffee provided.Brian did take us to the local grocery store as well.
Good'ay , Debbie & Bill,
Great to hear from you, and thank you for your 5 Star review. :)
Lovely to meet you both ...., only wish you'd have stayed a bit longer.
You were so organsed and did not need a lot of encouragement, to get out and see Bermuda.
We're so delighted you enjoyed your time with us and do hope you'll come back and see us soon. :)
Also, thanks for leaving the Apartment in such good order. It was so, spic & span, on your departure, I was thinking of hiring you to be the cleaners. LOL
Both Ineke and I enjoyed meeting you both and do hope you'll return to Bermuda and again, choose Watch Hill Manor as your preferred accommodation.
Brian & Ineke

Why Brian Hetzel chose Smiths
A rather large property that was in need of much T.L.C. ! It is the first property we looked at 7 years ago while on holiday in 2012. It lingered on the market due to it size and the amount of work needed to bring it back. Built in the mid 1960's and after looking at it, we just knew it was too big for just the two of us. When we returned in the summer of 2014, we looked at over 60 houses for sale but none had the charm and character that this house has. It is well off the main road in a quiet neighbourhood, has a view to die for and is East of Hamilton. (Note: 2/3 of the population live West of Hamilton ) It is close to my golf club, not that I've had much time for golf as of late! We've been very busy restoring this, "oldish" sort of LADY. It has truly been a labour of love, so to speak. We've still the last phase to do on our side of the house but the B & B suites and the apartment are now looking first class. The pool area has been completely redone as have all the decks and outdoor space. Our friends just love it and we are certain you will too!. Phase II , construction interior of Watch Hill Manor. 2017 Just completed installing a new custom kitchen which is to die for along with a large pantry. We have also raised the ceiling in the foyer by 1 metre, (we have now hung a lovely chandelier in the entry) Also added, a Powder Room/Toilet, with plumbing off the foyer. This space has all been re-tiled with a highly polished Italian tile. Foyer and living areas have been refurbished with modern and Art-deco furnishings. Our dining-room has been completely refurbished including all walls resurfaced, cedar table and chairs refinished and new lighting. May 1st, 2017 . This has now all been completed.
What makes this Apartment unique
