There are many different eating options here too from fine dining at L'Attanum to a quick bite at Mc Donalds. For family fun there are many local biking and hiking routes and at the nearby Espace Hermeline in Bussiere Galant you will find a zipwire, accrobois and swimming lake. History lovers can explore medieval towers or take scenic drives to Brantôme and the majestic castles of the Dordogne Valley. Originally from Manchester and Birmingham we came from our flat in London to live in France over 30 years ago and have brought up our 3 sons here. I am a herbalist and my husband works as an hypnotherapist.

Why they chose this property

This is a great area to live as Jumilhac le grand has all of the amenities of a small village with the added advantage of having an al fresco restaurant and fairytale chateau right in the town square! It is only 10 mins away from St Yrieix la Perche which is a very vibrant and historically interesting town with every amenity you could need, from English tea rooms to a cinema, swimming lake, many diverse eating places and several large supermarkets. The area is on the Dordogne/Limousin border and so the perfect place to stay and explore both regions which are both easily accessible but away from the mid summer madness, holiday crowds and traffic.

What makes this property unique

The house is light and spacious and as it is on one level ideal for families with younger children and people with disabilities. A large manicured lawn is overlooked by the large raised terrace at the front of the property which makes it easy to supervise children playing the garden. The inground swimming pool at the back of the property is fenced and gated.
