About this space
Gairnshiel Lodge opened in May 2018. It’s located in the middle of the Cairngorms National Park, surrounded by a majestic landscape of mountains and rolling hills.

The nearest village of Ballater is about 6 miles away. Gairnshiel Lodge directly neighbours the King`s countryside estate, Balmoral Castle.

Several unique golf courses, as well as three of Scotland’s five skiing resorts are located in close proximity to Gairnshiel Lodge.

Not far from the main road, access is simple and well indicated on Google maps.
We would recommend our guests to travel by car, as there are no public transports around Gairnshiel Lodge. There is a large private parking in front of the house.

You will be welcomed in person upon arrival and shown around the lodge.

A few important guidelines for a pleasant stay:

Shoes off upon entering: Our wooden floors are sensitive to mud and moisture. We kindly request that you remove your shoes when you enter.
Report any damage: If any dishes or appliances break or get damaged, please let us know so we can address it.
Before departure:
Please strip the beds, but leave the protectors on the pillows and mattresses intact.
Turn off all lights and set the bathroom heaters to off.
Dispose of all trash in the designated bins at the entrance to the lodge.
Don’t forget to empty the refrigerators.
In the kitchen: We ask that you leave the cooktops and ovens in the same condition you found them, so the next guests can also enjoy a clean, well-maintained space.
