This house was beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood had so many elegant homes. We were safe and happy here. The house was very old, but well furnished. The huge kitchen had anything you could ever need. The beds were comfortable and the numerous antiques were gorgeous!
Really enjoyed the 5 spacious and comfortable bedrooms, all together on the 2nd floor with the laundry room. Kitchen had everything we needed, including spices and a stovetop griddle. Several gems in the house such as the antiques and pocket doors. Only regret is not reading further the welcome binder describing house history, local information and sites/restaurants to experience.
Everyone loved being able to experience this beautiful historic mansion with its updated kitchen and bathrooms! Plus the fact that there was an “on sight” manager to promptly respond to our concerns was frosting on the cake!
We had a great stay at this historic mansion - plenty of space for all of us and we were very comfortable. Kitchen and dining area made it very easy for our large group to share meals and laughs together. Highly recommend!
Our stay was amazing. The house is great. It was clean amd spacious. The bedrooms are nice size and the beds are comfortable. Property manager was quick to respond to questions. The neighborhood is quiet. Overall, our stay was great!
It was an easy to access place with great amenities. The well stocked kitchen allowed us to host many activities for our daughter’s wedding. We loved our castle and the beautiful decor. I highly recommend this property.
A group of 10 retired nurses enjoyed this mansion immensely. We had everything we needed to sleep, cook, and relax. The piano was a special treat. Can’t believe how many times I heard “I love this place”There was plenty of parking space. The manager was most helpful with our questions.
This was an amazing place for my family to stay for our vacation to Kansas City! The mansion is beautiful! The kitchen with its huge stove made it easy for us to make delicious big meals for our family of 13. The beds were so comfortable, and all of the places we visited were less than a 15 minute drive. We definitely want to stay here again!
Our overall experience was outstanding. The home is huge and gave plenty of room for people to spread out. The house is really cool. The beds were comfortable. Angela was great. There were no negatives from anyone in our group.
Our group stayed at the mansion for a week and it was amazing. The house is huge enough to be a lovely place to relax and for kids and adults to have space to be in the same place. Full kitchen, well-equipped, and clean, well-kept rooms. Ross and Angela were terrific hosts. We had a large group- 14 at max- and it was 100x better than any hotel. Thank you!

A brief description about myself: I’m a freelance musician: composer, arranger, conductor, bassist, author, radio personality, and the creator of the Orchestre Surreal where I use the pseudonym Elvis Schoenberg, it’s a 30 piece orchestra where I mash classic rock songs with iconic classical, jazz, and film music. the group performs regularly throughout southern California. I’ve been the recipient of several awards including: Best Orchestral Arranger: LA Music Awards Best Music Direction, For Frank Zappa’s “Joe’s Garage” by The Ticket Holder’s Awards. Best Composition at the American-Romanian Music Days Festival.
I’ve written music for films, television, and the stage. My concert music has been performed internationally by various chamber music groups. My ‘Concerto for Tenor Saxophone and Orchestra” was recently recorded by the Chamber Orchestra at St. Matthew’s and put to video, and was up for Grammy consideration:
Also a novelist, my first published work, a sci-fi novel “Falling From Eden, Inc.” After receiving the runner up in the sci-fi category at the Los Angeles Book Festival and the first honorable mention at the New England book festival. It made it onto the Amazon international bestseller list:
I’m also an exercise junky, I workout daily and I teach group fitness classes at Gold’s Gym.
I've traveled all over the world usually with bands or various music gigs. So often my stay was short. I like learning about the history of places and the weirder and more tumultuous the stories the better. I remember going to Malta that had a surprisingly interesting history.
Why they chose this property
Why this property? When I first saw this property I thought what a fantastic place. Even though it was in need of a lot of repair, It had such an amazing character that I wanted to see it brought back to life and have it flourish again. It took a lot of work, and we are still constantly improving things. It’s an awesome house that was built by the finest craftsmen of their day. There are all kinds of hidden gems, the leaded glass windows, the wood floors that in some rooms are all one plank long and have no seams.
What makes this property unique
The house is large and gives families and groups the opportunity to all congregate and experience being together in one place and still have a lot of space to do separate activities. The patio has a BBQ and is a nice place to be when the weather is nice. When the weather gets colder there are seven fireplaces: five downstairs and two upstairs in each of the corner bedrooms. In the parlor is a piano for the musically inclined. There is an indoor putting green if you want to practice your short game. In general it’s a fun space to be in.
