Nicely done apartment, fantastic views but not as clean as I'd expect. Informed YDE & they sent a cleaner. The dust that was on some surfaces had been accumulating for weeks without being cleaned. When we booked I was informed the car park pass was for the Mayors Avenue car park, however a couple of days before departure an email informed me that it was for the park and ride. Had I known this, I wouldn't have booked. If YDE found this out after our booking, I would have expected them to inform us and give us the chance to cancel, but they didn't. After dropping me and our luggage off, it took my husband an hour to park, eventually on the Embankment. Don't be fooled into thinking it's easier to park in unlimited spaces after 1st October, it isn't, it's harder. We didn't use the park and ride as it would have been too inconvenient for us. The cottage doesn't have a folder with information on how to use any appliances/heating, it comes with an attachment via email which was didn't work and was blank. Not helpful. We had previously stayed in the flat downstairs and wanted to book upstairs ever since for the views. Would I book again? No. Lugging luggage upstairs is a bind and the spiral staircase is difficult to negotiate so if you're of the older generation, I wouldn't recommend. Also wouldn't book again due to the parking situation. We come every year to Dartmouth and the experience we had with the accommodation hasn't put us off, we'll go back to staying where we usually do as it has parking and is clean.
