Very comfortable and great amenities provided by owner

  • 5 of 5

Other than playing Goldilocks with musical beds to make sure everyone was not too lumpy, not too soft, not too hard, the place was great. The owners provided amenities which made it feel like home. Cards, movies, laundry, great views of nature, centrally located to the smaller mountain feeling towns in the north and the larger playground that the south of the lake had to offer. Snow clearing came daily and WOW did we need it! Of the four days there we had 8”, 18”, and something even more than that the last day. Thank goodness for the private parking right outside the door. Owner wasn’t very good with information sharing and very responsive. Can’t wait to come back in the summer and see what the lake has to offer!

Owner is correct that internet is slow and intermittent in the mountains. And tv service was out all but the first day due to heavy snow. Owner warned of that as well. So if you have kids who “need” their internet time, stock up on minutes on your call plan in advance (cell service is extraordinarily good) and bring an Apple TV box, a fire stick, or something else for them to be entertained. For us...we played a lot of card games and enjoyed the time together.

Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

Owner's Response: We are so happy you and your family enjoyed your stay. You sure did get to experience the most snow of all season. Thank you for clarifying with me that in your review the word “wasn’t” in the sentence “Owner wasn’t very good with information sharing and very responsive.” was an error and should have been “was”. I take great pride in providing my guest with responsive communication so they can enjoy their stay, so I appreciate you recognized it.

Awesome family getaway

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a quick family getaway and it was a great place to stay.

They have one parking spot right in front of the rental and other spots are with guest passes. The owner has a map where you can park.

The rental is clean and well stocked. Plenty of dishware and utensils. Even plasticware for the little ones. They even have some standard spices. There is also a gas grill outside on the patio. They have a nice big 55in TV in the family room with satellite TV. Wi-Fi is also available, but it's fairly slow which is pretty standard in the mountains. You won't be able to stream at these speeds so download any movies, music, tv shows beforehand or stream off your LTE.

The rental currently has baseboard heaters in each room. I found it took a bit of time for the master room to warm up, but the other rooms were comfortable. It is noted that that they are planning on moving to central heat in the near future.

There is a state beach and park nearby. I drove over to the Sugar Pine Point State beach. The kid and dog had a great time walking through the snow and to the pier. There's also forest area right around the complex. We played outside in the snow and was super convenient being able to just go back in the home for anything.

There are a few markets and restaurants close by, but if you want more variety, head up about 10 miles to Tahoe City. They have a Safeway and Save Mart to get your groceries as well as several restaurants and bars.

The owner was easy to work with and kept me updated on any changes. She was clear in her communication as well.

Beautiful, clean and cozy! Kid Friendly Too!

  • 5 of 5

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this cozy, clean, inviting town home/Cottage. The decor, cleanliness and layout of the interior was perfect. I have a toddler, and loved that the owners provide plastic utensils and cutlery for those the little ones! And I loved the setup of the kids room and all the games and movies that were on hand when we got snowed-in. The place is conveniently located in the SugarPine State Park so right out your window and door is a beautiful scene of snow and pine trees -- truly amazing! I also loved the detailed notes and travel guide provided for guests. The owner lists great suggestions for skiing, sledding, dining and hiking. We can't wait to come back, our who family loved it and we went with another friend who has a small child as well, and we all really enjoyed our stay here! Looking forward to coming again in the Summer :)

Beautiful, Clean, and Relaxing Rental

  • 5 of 5

I visited this property with one other family, so 4 adults and 3 kids. It was perfect! Spacious, relaxing, and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the upstairs living area very modern. I liked that the basics for cooking were there: knives, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and your basic spices.

The proximity to trails and the lake was just as described. We took the kids to the little park also and they loved it. I visited in fall, but can't wait to go in summer and check out the beaches. I ran to the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion which is only 1.5 miles away from the property. The trail was beautiful and the beaches there gorgeous. Will definitely come back to this great find in summer.

Beautiful serene family getaway.

  • 4 of 5

We did a quick getaway prior to Christmas with our son, daughter in law, and 2 grand daughters. The house was beautifully decorated (for Christmas also), very roomy, and clean. We loved the location to Tahoe City and south lake. The only reason I am giving this unit 4 stars is that there were no bath tubs which would have been better with children. Overall beautiful well equipped unit, and owner wonderful to work with.
