Charming West Shore Chalet, Great Location, 10 minutes to Homewood Ski Area
Come relax at Lake Tahoe in our family’s charming chalet on the beautiful and peaceful West Shore. Our cabin is updated and completely furnished.
Each of the four bedrooms (two upstairs, two downstairs) contain a queen size bed and all linens are provided for your comfort and convenience. Each bedroom also has individually-controlled baseboard heating. The two bathrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs) have been remodeled and updated.
Just bring your food and favorite beverages and enjoy preparing your meals in the modern and fully stocked kitchen. And if you forget to bring something, the local (and newly remodeled) Tahoma Market is just a short drive or a 10 minute walk. They have great sandwiches too! For coffee drinkers or gelato lovers, check out "Where We Met," a cute little (seasonal) coffee shop just down the street.
During the warm summer days you can relax on the deck and fire up the grill while enjoying the serenity of the West Shore, and when it gets chilly outside you can cozy up inside with a roaring fire in the wood burning stove.
A short walk to the beach -- only two blocks away! Provided with your stay is full access to the beach and pier at the Water’s Edge. Also, you can walk or bike to Sugar Pine Point State Park, or hit the slopes at Homewood Mountain Resort less than 3 miles away.
When the weather permits, you can enjoy spending time at Marie Sluchak Community Park—a charming, small-scale community space, located just down the street at the "Y" where Pine St. meets Wilson Ave. It has a newly updated playground for kids, an amphitheater with stage and seating used for summer live music and movies, and a picnic and BBQ area.

Staying here was a great time at a great price in a great location! We stayed here while skiing at Palisades and found it very convenient. The property was spacious but cozy, very clean, and fully stocked with all amenities including kitchen spices. Definitely recommend staying here!
We had an excellent vacation stay in this Lake Tahoe home. Two families, four adults, four kids – we were fortunate to also have snow, which was an amazing experience. The host was always available, and the instructions were pretty clear.Fire wood is also provided, along with everything as mentioned in the listing.
The location of this cabin is amazing. I stayed here over Thanksgiving with my wife, our small dog, and two of my cousins. It was the perfect size to cook and host Thanksgiving dinner. Another perk is that the cabin is walking distance to markets, the lake, and beautiful hiking paths nearby. We will definitely stay here again!
We had a great time, enjoyed the neighborhood and beach access, and had everything we needed.

Absolutely loved our stay in Tahoe! This is not a generic hotel, it’s a real family home with so much warmth and character. The cabin is in great condition, cozy, and incredibly comfortable.
We had everything we needed for family dinners, which made the stay feel extra special. The décor is beautiful and thoughtful, the Lake Tahoe and national park posters are stunning, and the embroidered artwork in our bedroom was such a charming, sweet detail.
We’ll be remembering this winter vacation with a big smile. Thank you for an amazing stay we’d love to come back!
Such a lovely quiet neighborhood and centrally located. The kitchen was well stocked and plenty of towels and linens. A very comfortable house for a family vacation!!
This was a great location its 3 miles from Tahoe city, and close walking distance to access the lake. There are yummy places to eat and get coffee close by. There is also a good size park that is walking distance. Would definitely recommend this place for family’s and adults.

I want to thank The Gutowsky family for opening the doors of this amazing house for us to enjoy. We will definitely stay again.
This property was perfect for our family celebration. The cabin was roomy, clean and well stocked. The outdoor patio area was a great space to chat and have a bbq. Our grandson loved to ride his bike along the quiet neighborhood streets.

3rd time renting this cabin. Always clean and well stocked.Brought a whole new group with me this time and they all loved the cabin. Gary, the owner, is always fast answering questions. Can't wait to come back in the future.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this cabin. The owner Gary is quick to respond to questions. The cabin is very clean and well stocked with everything you could need for a great stay. As someone with mobility issues having bedrooms on the ground floor is a must, this cabin has 2 to choose from downstairs. Looking forward to staying there again.

The property was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for the stay. The location is perfect - walking distance to the lake, a short drive to Tahoe City, and Sugar Pine Point State Park.
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and my parents, my brother, and I have enjoyed vacationing in Lake Tahoe since the mid-1960s. We bought the lot in 1972 and built the cabin ourselves in 1976. After retiring from the Air Force in 2011, my wife and I settled in the Sacramento area to be close to our kids and so we could spend more time at the Lake. Since then we have spent a considerable amount of time at the cabin and love being there. When we're not there, I spend my free time volunteering with Junior Achievement of Sacramento. Also, my wife and I enjoy traveling, especially to Hawaii and Italy.
Why they chose this property
We love the West Shore of Lake Tahoe! That's why we've been coming up here as long as I can remember. There is so much to do here, or not...it's up to you. One of my favorite activities is to walk down to the pier at Water's Edge in the evening and check out all the stars. It's amazing and so relaxing. Another fun activity is a bike ride around the neighborhood or through Sugar Pine Point State Park. As a very recreational skier, I love skiing at Homewood. It's only a few minutes away and it's a great family ski area with some of the best views of the lake. I think my favorite time of year there is the Fall. The days are still warm but the nights cool down so it's a perfect time to sit outside during the day and cozy up to the fire at night. And since the kids are back in school, it's not crowded there at all. Lake Tahoe is my favorite place in the world...any time of year!
What makes this property unique
Our cabin is a labor of love. We built it in 1976 as a family project with the help of a few friends. Although it was built with many hand-me-downs, it has always been cozy and comfortable. We updated the kitchen in 2006 and the bathrooms in 2013. Also in 2013 we replaced most of the furnishings. We're very happy with the way it turned out--maintaining that rustic charm while providing all the modern conveniences. Come check it out!
