I hate to leave a bad review but our stay was pretty bad. This house has zero privacy. Shared driveway with the owners house about 50 feet away. The owner is nice, but hovered over my group the entire time it was very annoying. His dog also hanging around barking at us. We were leaving one day he asked to go onto our rental to do some “maintenence”. Just a very bad experience with the owner every single day. House is very old with no AC. Small kitchen. Showers arent great. No patio or deck with privacy.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations, as we always want our guests to feel comfortable and relaxed. The visits by the owners to care for the animals in the back pasture and in the pond were brief—typically lasting 15 to 30 minutes in the morning and evening. A dedicated route separate from the guest areas were specifically used to take care of the animals and provide more privacy. After looking back on the rental history, the owners were not even staying on the property during your stay. There were guests staying in the main house during your visit. If there was an issue with those guests, that could have been remedied had you communicated that during your stay.
Guests are always asked before any maintenance is scheduled, and you were completely free to decline the request - you said you were going to be gone all day riding dirt bikes and it was fine to enter the property and perform the maintenance. Like many mountain homes in our area, the house relies on natural cooling rather than central air conditioning. We are always happy to provide additional fans or discuss cooling options. You never said anything. We take pride in maintaining our spaces, and we would appreciate more specific details about what you felt was lacking with the showers so we can make immediate improvements. We feel that all of your expectations could have been met had you communicated your expectations during the booking process and throughout your stay. We hope you will reconsider the review rating you posted.
We wish you all the best in your future travels.
This was the second time staying at Cozy House in Gunnison. We stayed for a week and loved every minute! We met the owners who were very helpful when we had questions, but things were very well communicated prior to us arriving. It is located not too far from Gunnison, and was easy to drive to Crested Butte. We had extended family staying with us during our stay. The loft was great for the grandkids to hang out and sleep - they loved it! Also, they enjoyed playing with the goats, checking out the chickens and the rooster, plus our grandson even caught a nice sized rainbow trout from the pond on the land. The ony thing disappointing was that Dale, the goose, did not remember Grandpa cuz two years ago, Dale would only let Grandpa pet and hold him! Lol!
The house was perfect for our family gathering for our son's graduation from Western CO University. We enjoyed the large lawn to play games (corn hole and spike ball), and were able to host friends and family who also came to town. The patio table and chairs were great and we also brought our own camping chairs for extra guests. The location is great and the pond and farm animals made a serene setting. Our only surprise that we didn't realize was that the loft is accessible only by a ladder. Our daughter climbed it just fine, but it's worth noting if you anyone has accessibility concerns. The property was exactly what our son was hoping for -- a relaxed setting to play some lawn games with his friends while eating BBQ from 5Bs. Highly recommend!
The property is beautiful, peaceful and very comfortable inside. The location is fantastic, close enough to town for convenience. We will definitely look to stay here again!
The property was perfect for us. Purpose of trip was field work on nearby rivers. Entire unit was comfortable and well appointed. No complaints at all.
