The mattresses need updated. They were not comfortable. One was sunk in the middle, the other was very hard. The speakers on the tv in the bedroom barely work, even at full blast, and it only had dvd. We bought a dvd to watch. The kitchen utensils could be updated as well- no serving spoons. We have stayed here several times. The location is wonderful, the river is awesome. Because the beds were so uncomfortable, we may not be returning.

Our favorite place to stay!! It is always clean and equipped with everything you need. It is a beautiful location! The host is very attentive! Hopefully will be available next time we come to Gunnison.

Relaxing by the River

Very comfy, peaceful place right on the Gunnison River.Great for 2 people. Town of Gunnison is nearby for supplies, groceries, restaurants. We got groceries at Natural Grocers and cooked in. Spent a lot of time out in the yard watching fishermen and rafters go by on the river.Spent a full day at Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP, which was about 60 miles away. Very quiet neighborhood.Only visitor was a deer who came by while we were out in the yard reading! Contacted the owner with a few questions and she answered promptly. Enjoyed or stay!

The property was nicely decorated and comfortable. 2 complaints, beds were old and very uncomfortable. The bath tub had a piece of trim that was coming off and was very gross. Cheap toilet paper which makes you use twice as much. Didn’t make sense to me. Donna was wonderful just need to replace the beds and work on the bathroom.

Excellent stay in Gunnison

My wife and I (and our little dog) had a wonderful time in Donna's place along the Gunnison River. In mid-May the river was quite full and fast. It is only 50 feet out the back door with chairs on the back deck or a swinging seat in the yard overlooking the river. As mentioned in her description we had deer walking thru the yard every day. There are places on either side but we never saw anyone or any other noises. Very quiet and peaceful. If you come in May know that at altitude (7700 ft) it can be very cold in the mornings but if the sky is clear it will warm up quickly. The place has baseboard heat which was effective at maintaining temps inside as the outside was in the upper 20's. The kitchen was outfitted well although we did not do any cooking. The appliances are relatively new and in good shape (fridge, over, m/w). Be careful the the microware as it is 1600 watts! Be conservative with the time until you know how it cooks!The wifi has a strong signal and it fast and reliable. The TV is large enough but uses the local ISP (Spectrum) with all the normal channels. Bring your own box if you want more (Roku, Google, Apple TV, etc). The single bathroom is not large but the medicine cabinet is stocked with everything you can imagine if you forget something. The showerhead has a strong flow and gets warm quickly without much waiting. There is a separate baseboard heater with its own thermostat in the bathroom so you can always keep it warm.

Perfect commendations

My husband and I usually stay at a resort; however, this time we chose a VRBO, and I'm so glad we did. When we arrived check in with easy per instructions provided by the host. Lovely Cottage by the river

We enjoyed our time in your cottage. Watching the birds, the deer and the duck races (with actual ducks) in the river kept us busy and amused. We even had a visit from a bear. Would highly recommend your home to anyone looking for total peace and quiet.

Cabin By The River

Being right next to the river and within minutes of town were definitely the best thing about this place. As constructive criticism I suggest replacing the mattress in the small bedroom and giving the bathroom a bit of love. I mean, everything was functional but some TLC would go a long way. Overall we enjoyed the stay and the rental provided us with a great point from which to explore the area.

Colorado vacation

Location was great, on Gunnison River. Deer walked by back deck every day. Bed was a little too firm for me, my husband said it was ok with him. Had to contact owner regarding how to get shower to turn on, they responded right away.

Beautiful River setting

We enjoyed our weekend and loved being able to have our dog with us!! The location was great and we were able to do many day adventures in Gunnison. The river was beautiful and we enjoyed drinking our coffee and watching the wildlife. Easy check in and check out. Thank you!

Beautiful view from deck of Gunnison River. House is clean, well-stocked, comfortable and has a great western theme which for a southerner was a hoot...up to and including the Cowboy Magic Rose Water Shampoo. Just a lovely place to spend a week.

My husband Steve and I have been coming to Gunnison for the past 35 years. This is home to my husband whom has been coming to Gunnison since he was 4 years old. He remembers the cabins along the river Before Blue Mesa Reservoir was created. We lived in Gunnison full time for 10 years! Now we have a part time home that we would love to share with YOU.
