We live locally here in East Sussex with our two boys, and Vine Cottage has been a real labour of love for us. With Addison’s background in construction and Lucy’s eye for detail, we’ve created a modern, eco-friendly holiday home that’s both comfortable and practical — the kind of place we’d love to stay in ourselves.

We enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring the Sussex countryside, and making the most of the coast in nearby Hastings. Hosting Vine Cottage gives us the chance to share this beautiful area with others and provide a welcoming space for families, friends, and couples to relax.

Our goal is to make your stay easy, memorable, and stress-free. We’re nearby if you need us, but we’ll always give you the space to enjoy your holiday in peace.

We chose Westfield because it’s the perfect balance of peaceful countryside and coastal life. The village has a warm, friendly feel, with lovely local walks right on the doorstep, yet you’re only 10 minutes from the historic seaside town of Hastings.

What we enjoy most is the variety — one day you can be exploring country lanes and farm shops, and the next you’re on the beach, at a castle, or strolling through independent cafés and galleries. It’s a place where you can truly slow down and relax, but still have plenty to see and do nearby.

What makes Vine Cottage special is that it’s not just a holiday let — it’s a carefully designed eco-friendly home built with comfort and relaxation in mind. We transformed a tired old bungalow into a modern countryside retreat with underfloor heating, solar power, and an air source heat pump, so guests can enjoy a warm, sustainable stay all year round.

The vaulted ceilings, log burner, and open-plan living space give the cottage a real “wow” factor, while the flexible bedroom layouts make it perfect for families, friends, or couples. Add in the large private garden, outdoor dining area, and peaceful village setting just minutes from the coast, and you’ve got the best of both worlds — secluded countryside living with easy access to the sea.
