Located in the heart of historical Lisbon, in one of the city’s most iconic, unique, and culturally significant neighbourhoods. History and tradition coupled with the vibrancy of the city, all at your doorstep. The apartment was recently refurbished and is wonderfully bright and charming. An authentic Lisbon experience complemented by comfort and convenience. The apartment is perfect for a couple, family or group of friends. Located on the 1st floor, so guests will need to climb one set of stairs. The queen sized bed is partitioned from the living area, and provides complete privacy from the living space. The design aims to maximise the light from 4 large bay windows. The result works very well, making for a very bright and spacious atmosphere. The living space has a beautiful stone dinning table. Perfect for dinning, having breakfast or working. The kitchen is fully equipped with Nespresso coffee machine. fridge, freezer, stove, kettle, toaster and utensils. We also provide basics like coffee, tea, olive oil salt and pepper. There is a room (blind) with sofa bed and TV. The sofa bed is a single Bathroom, shower and toilet are equipped with shampoo, hand wash, and toilet paper. Hot water is automatic Guests have access to the entire apartment During your stay guests can contact us at all times on Airbnb or by mobile and WhatsApp Mouraria along with neighbouring Alfama and Castello make up the oldest quarters of Lisbon. The house is a 3-minute walk from Largo Severa "The Home of Fado Music", the birthplace of Portugal's own musical blues. The square Largo Das Olarias is charming and has a strong sense of history and old Lisbon. From the door of the apartment building, you have some of the best views in all Lisbon out on to the walls of Saint Georges Castle. Most of the main tourist sites and scenic spots in historic Lisbon are within walking distance. Lisbon is a city best discovered on foot and this is a perfect location to start. Less than 5-minute walk: - Famous 28 Tram, first stop - “Largo da Severa” The home of Fado music - Lively Martim Moniz - Subway station (Martim Moniz) - Famous rooftop bar “Topo” - Many restaurants and bars including popular vegetarian “The Food Temple” and one of Lisbon's most famous Tascas “Ze de Mouraria” 10 Minute Walk: - Saint Georges Castle - Rossio Square (Praca Dom Pedro IV) the historic centre of Lisbon - Largo Intendente, one of Lisbon’s most beautiful and trendiest squares - Miradouro Da Graca (Graca Viewing Point), the best place for a sundowner with views of the city - “Cervejaria Ramiro”, Lisbon’s most iconic fish restaurant - Casa Intendente, eclectic trendy bar, in a fabulous old aristocratic home ADDRESS: Largo das Olarias 56, Floor 1, Door 5, Lisboa, Postcode: 1100-376 WALKING TO/FROM MARTIM MONIZ: Martim Moniz square is about a 5-minute walk from the apartment. Note that the shortest route is along Travessa do Jordão but it has quite a lot of stairs, so may not be convenient if you have a lot of luggage. If you walk Rua Cavaleiros and turn left onto Largo Do Terreirinho and right onto Largo Das Olarias, it's a little longer but fewer stairs. TAXIS: Taxi’s to and from the airport should take about 20 minutes (depending on traffic). They can drop you off outside the house. Uber works well in Lisbon and often cheaper than normal cabs. Closest taxi rank is at Martim Moniz, less than 5-minute walk from the house. PARKING: Parking is difficult in Lisbon Downtown. There is an underground car park at Martim Moniz, a 5-minute walk from the house. Also, check Parkopedia Portugal for more parking in the area and downtown Lisbon. SUBWAY: Closest subway is Martim Moniz station, about a 5-minute walk from the house. Take the subway exit signposted for "Rua Cavaleiros". AIRPORT TO APARTMENT BY SUBWAY About 45 minutes. Take airport subway line, change for the green line at Alameda in the direction of Cais Do Sodre. Martim Moniz is the 3rd stop. Note that Arroios station is currently not operating. 28 TRAM: The iconic 28 Tram 1st stop is at Martim Moniz, less than a 5-minute walk. TRAINS: Trains to beach areas like Cascais and Carcavelos can be taken from Cais do Sodre train station, about 15-minute walk, or two stops by subway. As shown in the photos the primary king sized bed is located in a semi open plan format. There is a dividing wall, which is partly open. This design is set maximise the fantastic light the apartment recieves.
