Sleeping six guests in three spacious bedrooms, this dog-friendly holiday home is perfectly suited for families and friends seeking a peaceful retreat close to Devon’s Jurassic Coast. Spend your days wandering coastal trails, fossil-hunting and messing about on the water. Then return here for garden BBQs and relaxing evenings snuggled around the wood burner.
Step inside to find a harmonious blend of comfort, style and history. This two-storey cottage has been thoughtfully renovated to highlight its period charm while offering all the contemporary comforts you might expect. Featuring wooden beams, a wood burner in an inglenook fireplace, and an assortment of comfortable, antique-style furniture, the lounge invites cosy evenings with your loved ones. The modern, farmhouse-style kitchen is a delight to prepare food in, before gathering around the dining table in the light-filled conservatory for mealtimes of fun and laughter. Let the merriment spill outside and into the mature lawned garden, which includes a BBQ, outdoor dining table, and a garden bench that invites quiet mornings with a cuppa, listening to birdsong. When night falls, three elegant bedrooms promise a refreshing night’s sleep on the first floor; choose between two doubles and a twin. A modern family bathroom completes the interior.
Stroll out and wander through the village to the banks of the River Axe for incredible birdwatching opportunities. It’s a short walk from here to Seaton (1.5 miles), gateway to the Jurassic Coast, and the South West Coast Path. This charming town boasts an abundance of shops and eateries, a magical narrow-gauge tram, and is a playground for water-sports fans, with kayaking and paddle-boarding, and The Grizzly 20 mile run held in March each year, among the activities on offer. A little further afield are the coastal villages of Branscombe and Beer, famous for its Quarry Caves and Lyme Regis known as the Pearl of Dorset.
