Delightful 3 bedroom cottage with forest outlook

A charming and spacious three-bedroom cottage with a new bathroom and downstairs WC, which can comfortably sleep six guests. Providing the perfect base for your New Forest holiday, Helmsdale has parking for three cars and will consider dogs on request.

Just a 3 min walk away you will find shops, pubs and the well-known Cider Pantry, serving breakfast, lunch and cake. Ideally situated for a family holiday with lovely forest walks directly opposite and New Forest Ponies roaming outside the gate.

The front of the property is a private gravel drive with mature hedges and flowering plants. Greeting you as you come in the front door is a large dining room with an oak dining table and chairs to seat eight people.

From here you go through to a lovely country kitchen where a free-of-charge welcome hamper will be awaiting you, including local cider, jam, biscuits and more to give you a taste of the New Forest. The kitchen is well fitted out with everything you will need during your stay, including an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, bread maker, food mixer, dishwasher, microwave and a washer/dryer.

There is also a breakfast table and chairs to seat six, looking out over the well-kept back garden. A door from the kitchen will lead you into the newly installed downstairs cloakroom with WC and basin. From this area another door leads you out to the well-kept back garden.

In the spacious lounge you can cosy up on the large comfy sofas, either in front of the 50” Smart TV with Disney, Netflix and Amazon Prime (please provide own login). Or, take it easy reading a book by the French windows looking out over the pretty country garden. The delightful garden with patio area is a perfect spot for catching the sun and enjoying a charcoal BBQ after a long day exploring the New Forest or at one of the many local beaches.

Upstairs are three welcoming bedrooms, two spacious king-size rooms and one smaller bedroom, plus a recently modernised family bathroom with bath and walk in shower.

Immediately on the right is the master bedroom with king-size bed, Smart TV and bedroom chair. A travel cot is available if required. Next door is another large bedroom with king-size bed, TV and full-size mirror. Both large bedrooms have double oak wardrobes and chest of drawers plus lovely forest views.

Across the landing you will find a smaller bedroom with fitted wardrobes and twin beds (which can be converted to a super-king, should it be desired) overlooking the quaint back garden. Adjacent to this is the bright, clean and modern upstairs family bathroom. Luxury bedding, bath towels and toiletries are supplied for every guest.

This eloquent family cottage has been recently upgraded by the current owners to a high standard. There is ample off-road parking for three cars and an enclosed rear garden with picnic bench, bike shed, barbeque and lawn, perfect for entertaining and playing outside.

Situated in the picturesque chocolate-box village of Burley, deep in the heart of the forest, directly opposite Helmsdale are lovely forest walks and you will often see New Forest Ponies roaming freely outside the front gate. Burley is a very popular village with several amenities, including shops, two pubs and one of the best local tea rooms, the Cider Pantry, just down the road, serving hearty locally sourced breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas.
