THE GEM, has always been a destination cottage for many of my guests. A place to enjoy the beautiful views, the beach and the cottage's amenities. It provides easy social distancing as well as a peaceful, relaxing, anxiety-free getaway.

So, spend your vacation in a charming waterfront cottage on Beach Point in Truro. This property has an unobstructed panoramic water view of Cape Cod Bay from the Long Point Lighthouse, along the arm of Provincetown, through Truro, and up the coast. Enjoy a combination of daily walks, swimming or just relaxing on your 40 ft. private beach as the tide comes and goes. The bay waters are warm and the sunsets magnificent!

This well maintained and exceptionally clean cottage provides an open living room / kitchen / dining area, master bedroom/bath, plus a second bathroom. A gas stove and a gas fireplace. The interior space is uniquely designed and offers over 750+ sq. ft. of living space.

In addition, the large private yard offers a variety of outdoor areas to enjoy including your own private beach, waterfront seating, a large deck, an outdoor kitchen with a sink, a gas grill, and a private hot and cold outdoor shower.

Also included is off street parking, central air conditioning, free high speed wireless internet and all linens and towels.

For guests that want a quiet setting for their rental, this spotless private residence is located just a mile from the Provincetown line and just 2 miles from Provincetown Center. Travel is easy by walking, biking, car, Shuttle Bus, Uber or taxi.

When arriving the homeowner will personally welcome you and give you a quick tour of the cottage and property.

This property is located in an area that gets excellent cell phone and wireless internet reception.

Watch the best show in town, the sunset, from your private Adirondack chairs.

There's absolutely no reason to leave this property... but... if you want to go exploring, simply go to the end of the driveway and flag down the frequently scheduled shuttle bus, every twenty minutes, that'll take you right into Provincetown Center, Truro Center, the outer beaches and/or local restaurants.

We had a lovely relaxing vacation. Checkin was seamless, the cottage was immaculate, well-organized and beautifully decorated. The adirondock chairs were perfectly positioned for reading in the sun on the quiet private beach, with Provincetown restaurants just a short drive away.

Mariellen was an awesome host, and made sure we felt right at home during our visit! Perfect place for a relaxing beach get away! We were able to enjoy the beach, cook up some good meals on the grill, and watch the sunset before a lovely stroll down the beach to finish the day. You’re also super close to Ptown, which was awesome to explore! Hopefully we’ll be back soon!

Great Stay on the Cape

Fantastic property that walks out onto the beach (bay side) and is in close proximity to both Provincetown and Head of the Meadow beach (10min drive each). The cottage was clean, well kept, and had great features (bedroom with screened windows and water view, great deck with comfortable furniture, outdoor shower). Mariellen was accommodating of our dog as well. Highly recommended.

What a Beauty!

I recently stayed at this cottage in Truro. I was very pleasantly surprised. The pictures do not even do it justice (even though the pictures are all quite nice!). Private, very clean and well kept, great utilization of space, the views of the ocean are unbelievable and to top it off the owner is extremely pleasant! I would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone who wants to get away from it all but still have the convenience of going into "Town" with a short bike ride. Can't get any better than this place! It will be tough to beat for the next planned vacation!

Hidden Treasure!

We absolutely loved this cottage. It’s full of vintage and quirky decor, but also has every modern amenity you could want in a beach cottage. The location is perfect, the cottage is situated such that even on that densely populated stretch of beach, you feel it’s your own little secluded spot. We’ve been vacationing at various places North Truro for 30 years, and The Gem is by far our favorite spot. We loved the cottage and the location, but just as important, Mariellen is a perfect host...warm and welcoming and responsive. We had a small issue with one of the TVs, which is not worth mentioning except to say that Mariellen came right over and took care of it. We really couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay at The Gem!

My 9th year at The Gem

When someone returns year after year to a place, it says it all. The Gem is exactly as pictured and described and is perfect for one or two people. I think it is exactly what a beach house should be - spotless, quaint, fun and comfortable - not some fancied up, chic interior where you are afraid to sit. The cottage is well constructed, clever in design and everything you could want for a great stay is at your fingertips. It is directly on the beach and you can see beautiful sunsets from the new deck, the living room or bedroom. The huge outdoor kitchen with grill is such a great idea and I love the huge outdoor shower. The neighbors are respectful of other neighbors and I have never had an issue with noisy gatherings. The bus stops directly in front of the cottage and it is an easy 5-10 minute ride into P-town which means you do not have to pay $20 to park. Mariellen has another property available for rental - check out 120195. Larger than the cottage but just as well appointed and comfortable. Lastly, Mariellen is a pleasure to work with, always available and helpful. I look forward to seeing her every year.

Practically perfect in every way - cozy, comfortable, beautiful on beach..

This is a special place. Most of the reviews before mine say the same thing, but to put my statement in perspective - My husband and I live in Abruzzo, Italy in the midst of a National Park and we live in the mountains and yet are only 45 minutes from the Adriatic; this year we came to Cape Cod and Mariellen's Gem for our vacation, and it was as perfect as anything back home. The house is lovely, artfully appointed with everything one might need. Its located in an area of historic cottages and has PRIVATE DIRECT BAYSIDE BEACH ACCESS! While there are many things to do and see (Provincetown is just down the road and the shuttle is right there) the cottage itself was a DESTINATION - sit on the beach in your Adirondack beach chairs and watch the sailboats. Walk, run, swim and use the fabulous outdoor shower to de-sand. We ate out, but more often brought fabulous take-out to eat at the cottage because nowhere did we find a better view nor sweeter atmosphere than the back porch with its bayside breeze. Also, the Gem is dog-friendly and our 5 pound Chihuahua was the belle of the beach. We very much hope to return - but we'll have to act fast - the Gem is mostly full for next year!

Truly a Gem

The Gem was exactly as advertised. An amazing little cottage in a great location! It was the perfect place for a long needed getaway for my wife and I. The deck with views of PTown and the chairs right on the beach to enjoy the amazing sunsets! The seemingly endless stretch of beach for long walks. There was no need to leave the cottage except for daily trips to Cape Tip or Mac’s Seafood for fresh fish. What an amazing find!

True Gem of a House

What a treasure this house is. Mariellen has taken such care and give it such character vs so many bland vacation homes. So many wonderful touches. As other reviews have said, much larger thank pictures. And that view! Just steps from the bay beach. My husband and little dog couldn’t get enough. Mariellen was a delight and in touch as much as we needed. Can not wait to get back!

The Gem is a lovely little cottage - beautifully and perfectly appointed with everything we could possibly need for a week away from home. Mariellen was responsive and thoughtful and her artist’s eye was apparent in all the creative and whimsical details. The Gem is situated just outside of Provincetown which we loved - the ideal mix of activity and quiet. The private beach and our own secluded seating area for coffee every morning and cocktails at sunset was a dream! In addition, the cottage was spotless and Mariellen was very committed to cleanliness and our comfort during the pandemic. We would absolutely stay here again!!!

We have stayed the Gem several times. It is ideally situated and beautifully decorated. The private beach sets this rental apart from the rest. What a great place to spend a quiet vacation. If you want to sit on the beach and read, look at the sea creatures in the water or relax in the cottage, I can't think of a better place to do it. I love this place because the beach is private, no hordes of sunbathers, and clean. You can watch the sun rise and see the most beautiful sunsets over Provincetown. It is an easy 5 minute drive to Provincetown if you want some more activity - shopping, whale watching, art galleries and plenty of restaurants to choose from. The cottage is perfect for one or two people and everything you need is included - even beach towels. Mariellen has thought of everything and is so nice. This is my 10th year and I've already signed up for next year. You won't be sorry if you rent The Gem.

A Most Special Place

This was our 3rd stay at The Gem and every day at this cottage is a true treasure. As each year passes it becomes clearer how the beauty of the outer cape is so fragile and we must enjoy and protect it while we can. The Gem is an exceptional property with everything you could ever need or imagine needing for the picture-perfect Cape Cod escape. Mariellen is a highly attentive owner who takes in pride in the property, something that is clearly evident from the moment you roll up the crushed shell driveway. A glorious perennial garden greets you framed by rosa rugosa and vintage beach plum. Inside the The Gem is tidy and efficient featuring incredible views of Cape Cod Bay.
