Set in a historic grade II listed building and once home to the Cobb Family famous Margate Brewers and Banker, it features charming original cherubs, elegant parquet flooring and orginal shutters. Recently renovated with a new kitchen and modern bathroom. Two comfortable bedrooms and a bright living space. Steps from the beach, cafés, shops, and galleries — the perfect blend of character and contemporary comfort.

This delightful 2‑bedroom apartment is perfectly positioned in the heart of Margate’s Old Town, set within a historic Georgian building once owned by the prominent Cobb family—well‑known for their influence on Margate’s banking and brewing history. Francis Cobb, often referred to as the “King of Margate,” played a significant role in shaping the town’s development, adding a unique touch of heritage to your stay.
Inside, the apartment blends original period character with thoughtful modern upgrades, creating a warm, stylish, and comfortable base for your visit. Step outside and you’ll find yourself moments from Old Town’s independent shops, cafés, galleries, and the seafront—everything that makes Margate so special.

One of the standout original features is the beautifully preserved cherubs on the wall, offering a glimpse into the building’s past. These details are complemented by the apartment’s beautiful parquet flooring and orginal window covering, adding elegance and a sense of craftsmanship throughout.

Due to the central Margate Old Town location free street parking is limited in the direct vicinity, there are however several local pay and display car parks in Margate Old Town - Trinity Square, Market Street car park, Mill Lane Car Park and free on-street parking with a 5-10 minute walk.

Travelling by road: The M20 and M2 motorways provide easy links from London into Thanet.

Margate train station is the nearest station to the accommodation and is regularly served by South Eastern High Speed services travelling to/from London St Pancras as well as trains from London Victoria. The train from London St Pancras takes 80-90 minutes and a little longer from Victoria, and it’s just 50 minutes from Ashford International station. Once you arrive at the station you can either walk to the accommodation (approx 13 minute - 0.6 miles) or you can grab a taxi or take a local bus.

The National Express runs a national network of coach services. Coaches run from London Victoria to various stops in Thanet and take approximately 2 hours.

Frequent bus services: The Thanet Loop serves Margate, Cliftonville, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Westwood Cross.

Guests should please note that, as a Grade II listed building, many preserved original features still exist, including the single glazed windows—which are an important part of the property’s character and charm. Due to its location in the heart of the old town, it can occasionally be lively during the summer months. Light sleepers shoud consider this before booking.

We love those little (and not so little) furry bundles of joy. Sadly, our home is not suitable for accommodating them.
