The Neighborhood:
The unspoilt village of Elsdon lies in a protected hollow amid beautiful fells, woodland and moorland in the heart of the Cheviots on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. The area is rich with history, and there are many listed sites in this community, overshadowed by the fortified Pele Tower. The village green is a charming feature of Elsdon, and there is a pub that dates back to the 18th century that retains a truly olde worlde atmosphere. A good choice of shops is available in the market town of Rothbury just 10 miles away, and there is much to explore in the surrounding area including the Coast to Coast Walk and alternative Pennine Way which passes though. A National Cycle Route runs by for those who love to explore the countryside on two wheels.
