About the property

5 Bedrooms, 4.5 Baths, Sleeps 20

Welcome To Seabiscuit! (Formerly Willow Beach)

We look forward to accommodating you and your family in our 5BR/4.5BA Beachfront American dream. Our spacious home can accommodate multiple families and sleeps up to 18 total guests. We are located within the Casa Del Mar community inside the St. George Plantation, a highly prized area within walking distance to Bob Sike’s Cut for the best sunset photos or fishing from the jetties!

The first main level of the home is our living room, kitchen, dining room and sitting area w/ half bath. Relax inside on our comfortable sofas with gorgeous views of blue and green Gulf waters in the Gulfside main living room. A large, flat screen TV with DVD/VHS player is available for movie night with the family or you might enjoy one of the many board games or books in our entertainment center. A large covered and sun deck is just beyond the sliding glass doors, the perfect spot to lounge in the sun or revel in the stars on gorgeous, new chaise loungers or to picnic on a beautiful afternoon on our outdoor dining tables. The deck has a gate that can be latched to help contain both younger children or pets.

Our large kitchen is well equipped with plenty of room for multiple chefs. The large dining bar can accommodate up to 10 on stools, with additional seating for 8 at the dining table nearby. The pantry houses a SECOND full size refrigerator, cookware and abundant shelving for groceries. Just past our convenient writing desk you will step into a second seating area with comfortable arm chairs and a Queen sleeper sofa. A half bath is just beyond the seating area and a furnished covered deck overlooks the driveway with stairs to the ground floor.

The middle level of the home offers 4 bedrooms, the first of which is a Queen bedroom with TV, access to the covered, Gulf front deck and a private full bathroom with tub/shower.

The next bedroom to encounter is a spacious King bedroom with TV, a private bathroom and access to the covered, Gulf front deck. The large, private bathroom has 2 sinks, plenty of counterspace and a large, jetted tub with removable, hand-held shower.

The Gulf front deck is fully furnished with new, comfortable conversation seating and bright porch swing. A great way to relax into the evening or to greet the morning sunrise!

Across the hall, you will find a laundry closet with full size washer and dryer. Just past the laundry closet is another Queen bedroom w/ TV and access to a jack-n-jill bathroom shared with the bunk bedroom. The bunk bedroom sleeps 4 total guests with a bunk bed w/ trundle pull out and a separate twin bed.

The top floor suite can house an entire family with sleeping accommodations for up to 6! This large, 400 sq ft open space offers a King bed with memory foam mattress, a single bed w/ trundle pullout and a single bunk bed. A full bathroom is available here with 2 sinks, a shower stall and a jetted bathtub. A seating area with loveseat, table for 4 and morning kitchen with sink, microwave and coffee maker lets you start the day early without disturbing family members below. A mini-fridge is also available for added convenience and the Gulf front balcony offers the best views in the house!

The residential elevator is accessible from the ground level foyer and travels all the way to the top floor suite. The elevator is available to responsible users for an additional fee. For handicap accessibility, please inquire.

Underneath the home is another large, open space with fish cleaning table/sink, enclosed hot/cold outdoor shower and park-style charcoal grill.

'Seabiscuit' is located in the community of Casa Del Mar on the West end of Plantation. You can see the jetties from here which signals the end of St. George Island where Bob Sike’s Cut separates us from Little St. George. The Cut, an easy 4 minute walk from the house, offers excellent fishing, snorkeling at the base of the rocks and the best photo opportunities.

And don’t forget to bring your four-legged family! We accept up to 2 dogs under 60lbs for an additional fee.

About Forgotten Shores Properties

Forgotten Shores Property Management Group, LLC is available to respond to your phone calls and inquiries. We assist our homeowners in management of their beautiful St. George Island properties and are available to guests throughout their stay. We are pleased to offer 'Seabiscuit' on behalf of our homeowners. Read below and get to know the owners of this amazing Beachfront property and how they chose the name for their new family beach house.

What makes this house unique

A word from our homeowners:

The Seningen family has been rescuing Greyhounds for over twenty years. Our first Greyhound was named Simone. She was a beautiful Grey of over 90 pounds, she towered over most Greys as a typical female was barely 60 pounds. She loved to go to the beach and run up and down at the waters edge. Ever graceful and fleet of foot, but never allowing the surf to touch her paws, one friend who observed her sheer speed racing back and forth exclaimed, “Look at Seabiscuit go!”, a call-out to one of the greatest American Thoroughbred racehorses. We didn’t discover Saint George Island until recently, but Simone, aka Seabiscuit, would have loved this place. In her honor, and in honor of all dogs and dog owners who love the sun, surf, and sand, we’ve named our crown jewel, “Seabiscuit”. We hope you enjoy our home and your stay as much as we know our beloved Simone would have enjoyed racing these beaches.

Cheers,

M/Dad

Fantastic!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family wanted a large house on the beach to celebrate my Mom's 70th birthday. Seabiscuit was perfect! There was enough room for all 12 of us to hang out and play games, cook family dinners without tripping over each other, have a little alone time when needed & all the beds were comfortable! The kitchen was well stocked for a big group- lots of plates, utensils & large pots & pans. The outdoor shower was luxurious! The views and beach access were better than we could have imagined. We woke up early to watch the sunrise (which could be seen from the deck or short walk to the beach) and walked down the beach to the far west end of the island to watch the sunsets. Seabiscuit is perfectly positioned to allow you to easily do both. Everyday we watched dolphins swim up & down the coast & my fiance enjoyed fishing on the beach right in front of the house.

We were able to rent bikes & have them delivered to our home which allowed us to take rides through the neighborhood & along the paved trail. We spent a day wandering around the shops in Apalachicola & ate the best oysters we've ever had at Up the Creek. We went back twice! On our last day we happened to stumble upon the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve. This is a free educational center that highlights all the marine life/geography in the area. I wish we had found it before our last day- I could have spent hours there.

Jamie at Forgotten Shores Property Management Group, LLC was so helpful in answering all my many questions, I can't thank her enough. In short, we loved St. George Island & Seabuscuit in particular. We all agree that this was our best family vacation ever!

Outstanding family & Friends Spring Break Trip

  • 5 of 5

We had a great trip, there were 8 adults and 7 children and we had plenty of space. The bedrooms were good sized and the penthouse suite was huge! We cooked in a couple of nights and ate out a few nights. We fished from the beaches, and the jetty which is about 10-15 minutes walk. We would definitely refer the house to others and we plan on returning ourselves! Thank you

Location!Location!Location! This beautiful home is a short beach walk from the jetty; it's a great place to view sunsets, fish, or both. Willow Beach is luxuriously furnished with everything you'll need for a memorable, carefree vacation. We hung out on the covered decks during the day and sat on the top open air deck at night to stargaze. This is a perfect place to cycle, swim, kayak, eat the freshest of seafood and just kick back and relax. The house is in tip top shape and both the owner and her on-island mgr. respond quickly to any questions or concerns guests may have. We would definitely come back and recommend this home to others.

perfect beach vacation

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed in this rental. We had 11 guest in the home. I can't say enough about the rental. Great kitchen, bathrooms, mattresses, view and easy beach accessibility!! The owners have gone out of their way to make this house a comfortable beach home for their guests. The a/c actually keeps the house comfortable, we have had that problem with previous rentals! The kitchen had every gadget you could possibly need. All in all, we loved the place and would definitely rent again!!!

Booked three years in a row....

  • 5 of 5

You really hate to write a great review because selfishly you want to keep this house, its owner Cathy, its caretaker, Jim and even the island, all to yourself. We discovered beach house vacationing years ago and have always loved the Gulf. We found St George's Island purely by Providential happenstance but have fallen in love with it. We are home. From my buddy at Island Outfitters to Doug's Fish Trailer and the place where I buy bags of oysters, (I simply must draw the line on this secret) I have found everyone to be so welcoming and kind. The house is amazing with a big kitchen and lots of places to lounge and play. The beach offers great fishing, (partly due to the fact that neighbors on each side avoid lines and stay out of the way) with everything from Pompano to Mackerel making its way to the dinner table several nights. If you like some adventure, do some night fishing. We will leave it at that. We kayaked with Dolphins, played lots of cornhole, built big castles, (my ten year old swam with a sea turtle and she will never forget it) and laughed til our sides hurt all the while enjoying this beautiful home and beach. Thanks Cathy.

Owner's Response: You are hilarious! Thank you 1000x's over! I don't think anyone loves this magical place more than you & your family! The best part of having you all as our guests is knowing that you are making summertime friends on the island and are enjoying all this that this lovely slice of heaven has to offer.....charbroiled oysters....OH MY GOODNESS ...you just thought raw oysters were good. We discovered those this summer. Hank & I so appreciate the kind words and the funny correspondence through the year. I so enjoy all my guests... so back at ya! So glad your coming back! Best to Kevin & Family....I want to see some pics!

Wonderful week!!

  • 5 of 5

We've been home over two weeks and are still wishing we were back on St. George Island at the Willow Beach house! The house was beautiful, just as described. We cooked almost every night and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. We had 12 adults (6 of them were 25 and under) and there was more than enough room for everyone. The beach was amazing and the water was so warm. We saw dolphins every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times in the same day. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting a quiet, family beach vacation. This was our second trip to St. George Island and we hope to make it back again at some point in the future. The owners were so helpful and easy to work with. It made our trip so much more enjoyable. Thank you!!!

Owner's Response: Thanks Jodi for the sweet comments & the ones you wrote in my guest book. I think lots of folks are finding out about our little piece of paradise. So glad you found it so comfortable for your group.....lots of places in the house to go and read a book. You know we would love to have you back! An added bonus for 2015 is that my guests at Willow Beach can now use the huge swimming pool, tennis courts and fitness center! It just gets better and better! Im already booking 2015.....pick a week and call me. So glad you had a blast!!!!
