Known for its good snow and few queues, one of Europe’s most famous holiday destinations, the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang ski area, is easily accessed from Salzburg or Munich. It has always been a favourite Austrian winter sports resort with 200 kilometres of pistes supporting all levels of skiing and snowboarding – including groomed fun-parks. The whole area connects up into a round-trip ‘Ski Circus’ and recently connected to Zell am See. Fab restaurants both on the mountains and the village. In recent years Saalbach has also reinvented itself as a first-class summer resort offering superb mountain walking and biking.
