If you want a serene setting close to Lake Ontario come stay here!
Relive your cottage memories! Come to relax, to chat around the outdoor fireplace, sun bathe, hike, or read a good book!
This 1100 sq. ft. heated year-round cottage is on a cul-de-sac along the shores of Lake Ontario. It's located in Hilton New York - a beautiful northwestern suburb of Rochester, New York. Located far enough away to enjoy a secluded retreat from everyday life, but close enough to experience all that Rochester has to offer.
The cottage is nestled on the south side of the road, on a private 50x250 lot backing up to dense wood. The lake is on the north side of the road. There is little traffic. There is a beach area that has neighborhood walk-in privileges to use. Unfortunately Spring 2017 has been a record high rain fall and the beach is underwater! It was not accessible . We do not know what will happen to the beach this year.
This unique location consists of cottages, and homes. It is a 2 minute walk from the Braddock Point Lighthouse which is now a Bed and Breakfast and holds intimate wedding ceremonies. There is also a tiny public green space with a fantastic vantage point to watch the sunset next to the lighthouse.
Conveniently located 2 minutes from the scenic Lake Ontario Parkway, this serene setting provides fresh air and the opportunity to kick back, and take things a bit more slowly.
This is an optimal place to surround yourself with peace and quiet. The cottage is the perfect mix of a lakeside retreat and a woodland cabin. The private setting is enhanced by a deep lot, surrounded by trees, and the benefit of not being sandwiched between neighboring houses.
The outdoor fireplace provides a beautiful ambiance to relax by.
This is a delightful gem of a place to get away to unwind. Whether it is quiet solitude and reflection or days filled with activities you will find it all here.
Included at no extra charge: high speed wireless Internet connection for guests with laptops, digital phone which allows free local and long distance calls in the U.S.A., and cable television.

Owners comments: Summer of 2005 was the first time we offered the cottage for rent after two years renovating it! We have been blessed to meet wonderful guests from many different States and even Europe.
We had very favorable feedback. Guests comment on how spacious it is and that the rooms are much bigger than the photos show!
We delight in welcoming guests of every age. Our goal is to make you feel snug and immediately at home in our cottage.
Hilton is a beautiful place to visit anytime of the year. Enjoy the chartreuse springs, golden summers, scarlet autumns and the snow white winters. Rent our cottage for an old fashion stress-free vacation away from day to day distractions. You will not be disappointed.
Hope to hear from you!

Nice size for our family of five. Our daughter ended up sleeping in the den but was comfortable.
The owners were helpful and prompt. The house was well stocked with anything you need. We were going to grill but it started snowing. House was warm even with the very chilly temps. Beds were firm but comfortable.
First off Mary and Ron are very nice and concerned that you enjoy your stay.Cottage was homey and perfectly suited my needs. Will definitely go back going forward !!!
Great cottage -- the best hosts
This cottage is in a perfect location if one wants a "getaway" without being totally removed from a grocery, restaurants, or attractions. One can turn into a true hermit and never leave or enjoy conveniences / activities close by.
Let's start with the hosts. They were wonderful. Prompt replies to inquiries and a wealth of information. They communicated with us every step of the way. They were very helpful and flexible about arrival times. Once one arrives at the house there are further instructions / information as well as a notebook outlining nearby attractions, activities such as kayaking/canoeing and others. A big basket of snacks was waiting for us when we arrived -- a very thoughtful touch.
The house itself is very clean and well maintained. Although there is only air conditioning in the den (provided by a window unit), the rest of the house is delightfully cooled by the cross breeze and with ceiling fans in most rooms. There are two portable fans in the master bedroom closet if one needs to use one. The kitchen is well stocked with sheet pans, pots, and non-stick skillets. There are plenty of utensils for cooking and kitchen linens. Plates, glasses, cups, and flatware are all neatly in their place. The refrigerator was spotless and the ice maker was very efficient. There is a coffee maker, a toaster, and a dishwasher as well. There are dry spices and some tea bags; one will need their own cooking oil and will need coffee (the filters are supplied). Really great hot water heater and the water pressure in the shower is superb. Plenty of towels and washcloths. Cable and internet were powerful and there is a TV in the living room and in both bedrooms. There is a full-sized washer and dryer. Because it was mid-summer, we did not use the outdoor fireplace but it is available. Outdoor dining furniture is available.
There is a major grocery store about 9 easy miles away. (It is a Wegman's. If you don't have a Wegman's card apply for one on the spot.) There is good prepared food, great produce, a good cheese section, and a big beer selection. Liquor store right beside the supermarket. Good restaurants in Hilton and of course in Rochester proper.
This was a really great spot for us to get away and recharge. Although the water in Lake Ontario was high and one of the beaches was closed, we were able to see a beautiful sunset from the beach next to the Lighthouse.
Go to 60 Lakeside Blvd. The hosts are great and the house is also!!
Caring owners and clean, attractive property made for another pleasant stay.
Very clean and inviting! Loved the welcome note and snack basket!
Ron and Pat let us know that the lake was high and that there would be sand bags in the area. Upon arrival the cottage was clean and organized and very well stocked with all the basics we needed. The location was quiet and relaxing. We would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a cozy, relaxing getaway!!
Great place to stay. Close to shopping and places to eat.
Very clean and able to accommodate our family. Close to highway. Everything you would need to make you comfortable away from home. Have used in the past and will use in any future trips to the Rochester area.
There are several places minutes away to explore the natural scenery of Lake Ontario including many boat launches and charter boat companies offering fishing excursions. Braddock Bay Paddlesports, 5 minutes south, offers canoe or kayak rentals to enjoy the serenity of the natural surroundings. Hamlin Beach State Park, 10 minutes west, is a picturesque park with miles of safe uncrowded beaches, picnic, and playground areas. Braddock Bay State Park, 5 minutes east, has a lookout, and playground. Ontario Beach/Port of Rochester has a long pier and is a great place to eat an ice cream or burger featuring a beautiful beach with lifeguards on duty and the Dentzel Carousel. Parma Town Park offers playgrounds, basketball & tennis courts, and skate park. Strong Museum is one of the top children's museums in the country, located in downtown Rochester, and Seabreeze Amusement Park is nearby. Other Activities: shopping, boating, Hilton Apple Fest 10/4 & 10/5 Golf: There are several Public Golf Courses within a 10- 30 minute drive of the cottage. These include Lakeshore, Pinewood, Genesee Valley, Durand Eastman, and Twin Hills.
