Private and cozy pet-friendly cottage, nestled in the Cambria Pines - available for short term vacation stays or 30 day stays. Come stay in this open concept 2 story home, with large living room, dining, kitchen and a Three quarter bath on the entry level, and 2 bedrooms, a King bed and a Queen bed with a shared bath between them on the upper level. This unique property affords LOTS of privacy, yet it's just a short drive to town or the beach. Sit out on the back-deck and enjoy the wildlife and Mother Nature. Funky little cottage

This unit isn't what I've come to expect from Scenic Coast property rental. It is very dated and not very comfortable. We would not stay there again again.

Short get away

Was in Cali for work and was able to spend a couple day enjoying the beach and Cambria with my Daughter. Very cute house, great location to relax.

Another great experience here

Loved this cabin on previous stays… even better this time with new laminate flooring and propane BBQ. Prefect serene, hillside location with forest view and easy access to town. Comfortable and well-equipped. Highly recommend!

Lovely house in the trees

Reviewer Comments: I enjoyed my stay at this "cottage" - It has two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs that has a large tub with a window to the treetops, and a half bath downstairs with a shower. The house feels spacious but cozy. There is a lovely deck off the dining room where you can spend cool outdoor time in the trees. I parked in the teeny tiny garage but next time I'll just park on the driveway - which has room for one car. Having the only shower downstairs from the bedrooms was odd, but bring a robe and you'll be fine!

Lovely!

The home is nestled in trees and yet a short drive to the ocean. For anyone fleeing HOT summer temps in their home town this area is a gorgeous respite. The bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom has a big bathtub with a gorgeous window out to the tree tops. For a shower you need to use the ground floor bathroom.

Beware!

House was very nice on the interior. Beds comfy, TV, kitchen, decor, all great. BUT…Driveway will keep us from ever coming back! Not only is it incredibly short and steep right down to the tiny garage (which we never used.). But the driveway apron to the dirt road (which was also very steep) was a gravel and dirt ditch! No traction and lots of skidding. Gravel spraying our Chrysler 300 C, and city ordinance prohibits street parking! Recommend High profile vehicle with 4WD ONLY! .

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was great as always. The cottage was clean and well stocked, although a grab bar might be useful in the upstairs tub for some. The beds are great but the view from the deck is what we come back for. Great wildlife view and a wonderful place to decompress while on vacation. We no longer consider other properties if Holly Hill Cottage is available.

Location was central to the highway, coast and town of Cambria. Large bedrooms but no fenced yard for pets, shower downstairs (very noisy fan) and bath up where the bedrooms are, but overall a comfortable and reasonably priced rental and we enjoyed our stay.

Nice little home that was close to town and the Christmas light show and market place

Older home that could use a little updating of plugs, carpet and downstairs bathroom fan, but satisfied our short stay. This place is within walking distance of the Christmas light show and market place and has a beautiful back porch area. Although I did mention some of the needed updates, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was in a convenient location for our stay this time. The house needs some TLC as to updating and repairs though. It also was sparsely stocked for the price. There is no shower in the master bathroom upstairs which was inconvenient and not obvious from the pictures. The property management company is our first choice for finding a rental. Overall we still had a nice stay in Cambria.

Great hiking nearby

We enjoyed our stay very much. Checkin was seamless, neighborhood was quiet and it was walking distance (1 mile), from the preserve. The driveway is very steep, so if you have a car with limited power, it could be a challenge. The kitchen had everything we needed, but we would have appreciated knowing which garbage was the recycle one.

The driveway however, was not negotiable by our Tesla. We had not been warned about how steep it is. Photos do not do it justice. Parking on the road was nearly impossible. A kind neighbor kindly allowed us the use of his parking pad.

August Cambria Retreat

Enjoyed our second stay at this place. Supurb location on a wooded hillside close to town, quiet with few immediate neighbors. Cozy 2 br with a single garage. Clean and well-stocked with all the essentials and comfortable beds. OK ATT cell signal and good wi-fi. (Careful not to lock yourself out in Garage or rear deck with the bathroom-type auto locking door knobs) Only downsides were several carpet stains and a very noisy exhaust fan in the lower level bath. Would definitely stay here again :)

Vacation

Most of the reviews are correct for this home but with some added thoughts. One reviewer says there are a lot of spiders. This home is near a beautiful woods and wildlife so yes, there are spiders most of them are around the outside of the home. The outside around the home could use some cleaning. The inside is just very dated and needs updating but if you don't mind older living then it will be fine. The house just needs updating but it was clean and served our purposes just fine. Another reviewer said that there were kids on a trampoline, which is true, but when we stayed they only jumped on it once and it wasn't loud if you are inside. We spent most of our time on the balcony and the woods right outside are beautiful. The deck needs updating and cleaning but the house is in a great location. The neighbors were nice. The stove is very old but it worked fine. The check in and check out process was easy and I never needed to contact the company during our stay. There is a shower downstairs and the giant tub upstairs. Both worked fine but I can't comment on the heating of the water since we didn't fill the tub. Overall, it was good place to stay but I think the place could be so much better if updated. I don't know if I would stay again. We usually find places with hard wood floors for allergy reasons. This place is all carpet. We chose this place because we booked our vacation really late in the year so all other places were taken. If it's in your price range than I think its a good place to use for a few days.

Clean and close to town

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Good location and well maintained but disappointing for our stay. We booked for a restful vacation because of the upstairs bathtub and it looked quiet and private. The large bathtub is great in theory but there is never enough hot water to fill it even when you don't run the dishwasher or use the washing machine. Was a huge letdown and waste of money for the $13 Lush bath bombs I wasted trying over and over again to make it work. What the photos also don't show is that there is a house right next door with young children who play constantly on an outdoor trampoline. Lastly, there are woodpeckers and some kind of critters living in the external walls of the living room (just ask our pets, they were obsessed). So while this is a great location (close to town), the rental itself is not that great and we were not relaxed during our stay. We left a day early.
