Stay at ceiba pond

This was an amazing stay at a lovely property. Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The gardens were full of wildlife, including a caiman living in the pond! We saw coati, otters, and heard howler monkeys every morning. The pool was also much needed after a days hiking

Perfect Family Stay

We loved the house and the property! The only glitch we had was the Google link we were sent said the property was on the right and we hunted and hunted to find it. The agent wasn't there to let us in, so it took some time for me to find the actual property and then wait to be let in the gate. Other than that the house was great. Beautiful scenery and outside area. There was a mention of a crocodile on the property in one of the ponds which made me a smidge nervous. I never laid eyes on it, but I didn't allow the kids to use the pool once it got dark as I wanted to keep a close eye out. Everything was very clean in the house and nicely put together. This suited our needs perfectly. We headed about 12-15 minutes out from the house for meals and excursion meeting points.

Fun place for a family

We really enjoyed this space. We had a lot of fun exploring property and seeing all kinds of birds, lizards, frogs, plants, etc. The pool was very clean and perfect for us. The location was ideal for all the activities you can do in the Arenal/La Fortuna area. Host suggested some good sodas that we enjoyed.

Family vacation

The house is nice, could use some updating. The shower in the Master is large, really large. Air conditioning works well. Kitchen was unusual, but well equipped. If you're planning on doing laundry, keep in mind that you're going to have to hang your clothes on a line under the garage, and it's extremely humid there. Two beds were very comfortable. One was not comfortable at all. One was okay. The pictures are deceiving-the swimming pool is actually larger than it appears on the posting. It's a nice setup with the gazebo and pool. The property is quite large and is gorgeous. There is a startfruit tree near the big hammock, and several other fruit trees, such as bananas and bread fruit. Not only are there multiple ponds, a small river borders the rear of the property. Nearby, within walking distance, there are two sodas and at least one little store. The house is approx 10 minutes away from La Fortuna proper. It's a pretty drive, with several tour companies, restaurants and cows to look at along the way. The property managers were quite helpful when we had trouble with some locals and had to involve the authorities. Be sure to remember that just because it looks like paradise, you still have to watch your back.

A little slice of paradise in the jungle

The pictures do not do this place justice. If you like hearing howler monkeys at dawn and seeing birds and lizards and frogs in your backyard then this is the place for you. Our kids love to swim and explore and this place couldn't have been better for that. There was more than enough room for our family of 6, the host was very friendly and excellent with communication and it was easy to find. It was 10 minutes into the heart of La Fortuna and very easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go. Highly recommend, we would definitely stay again!

Birdwatchers’ Paradise

Absolutely fantastic few days here! The property is amazing. Exceptionally clean, well equipped and on a beautiful plot with loads of wildlife. Carlos met us at the property at check in and told us everything we needed to know, including a good soda recommendation! 20 min drive to Mirador Silencio for great walks around the volcano. 30 minutes from Sky Adventures for zip lining and more wildlife. All in all fantastic stay!

Perfect Place

We loved everything about this property. It was a perfect place to relax in the afternoons and watch all the various wildlife around the property. The property managers are very responsive. Note: SET THE ALARM SYSTEM every time you leave (no matter where you stay in CR). We hope to stay again someday.

Peaceful location with access to nature

The house was clean and charming. Our host Mario was flexible with the check in time. The pond and pool were amazing and well kept. There was a path by the river for hiking. The only issues we had was that 2 of the 4 beds had very worn out mattresses; you could feel the springs and there was no support. The stove was a bit broken and the gate fell off its track once, which I resolved in a few minutes of fiddling around with it, but would have been an issue for someone less handy

Amazing Property!

So many animals are on this property. Bring binoculars! You can watch so many different animals without having to leave the property. Two sodas are withing walking distance. The home was clean. Everything was so great. The kitchen is really small, but we made it work! Thank you!

Jungle Paradise: A Costa Rican Villa Experience Like No Other

We recently stayed at the most incredible jungle villa in Costa Rica, and it was truly a dream come true! From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in the magic of the rainforest. Every morning, we woke to the sounds of howler monkeys and the sight of them swinging through the trees just outside the villa. Afternoons brought sightings of caimans near the water, colorful birds flitting through the canopy, and frogs of every size and color coming to life as the evening set in. It was like living in a nature documentary!The villa itself was stunning—spacious, comfortable, and designed to blend perfectly with its surroundings. The open layout allowed us to feel connected to the jungle while enjoying all the modern luxuries. We loved relaxing on the patio with a cup of Costa Rican coffee, soaking in the lush views, and spending evenings under the stars listening to the symphony of the jungle.This villa was not just a place to stay; it was an experience that exceeded all our expectations. Aptly named property

A nice home on a large and lovely property, with a pool, a pond and expect to see many different kind of beautiful birds. About 7 kms from La Fortuna, but there is a nice restaurant nearby and a grocery store in the village. Bedrooms have shelf storage but no closets or ways to hang clothing, which can be an issue for extended stays. Hot water in bathrooms only, but not in kitchen. Extra cleaning, towels, etc. readily available for extended stays.

Jungle house

Great stay at a very traditional Costa Rican property. House is on beautiful acreage and we saw toucans and other amazing birds, iguanas, and an alligator. The main part of the house can get kind of warm but it’s nice the bedrooms are air conditioned. We had a good time!

Beautiful home, helpful manager

Home and grounds are beautiful, just outside La Fortuna. Carlos met us at the property for check in, even though we arrived later than planned. He answered all questions and provided recommendations for the area. Highly recommend.

Amazing place!

We loved the house. Two adults three boys age 10,9,9. The pool was refreshing house was perfect. Very convenient. About 10-15 min to la fortuna. The management company was very helpful and Mario went above and beyond. Recommendations for activities were perfect. We saw so many animals on the property, toucans, giant male iguana, coati, tons of birds. The local soda was very good and the family who runs it very nice and helpful. We could not have asked for a better place.thank you for sharing this home.

Magical!

This property was so beautiful! We had no idea how much wildlife we would see at this wonderful house. From ducks to toucans to bullfrogs and coatis, we felt like we had a nature preserve in our backyard. The pictures don't do it justice! The inside of the house was clean and lovely, and everything was easy to find. The management company was responsive and welcoming. Will definitely stay here again!

Our names are Eder Cruz & Allen Murillo, two good friends that have more than 15 years of experience working in tourism in La Fortuna, we grew up La Fortuna and decided to work together creating Home Vacations La Fortuna on May 2015, our main goal: Make things easier and simple for our guest.
On 2018 we create The House of Tours to provide our guests the best experiences during their stay in La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area, we have the best tours and transportation services/rates in the area.

We manage/own about 40 properties in La Fortuna, we have a wide variety of options: private bedrooms, apartments, cabins, homes and villas up to 16 people some of them with private pool, hot tubs, nice opens areas, creeks nearby and more facilities. Over this years we have met lot of people which is one of the best things about working in tourism, every day we work very hard to make our guest happy so our business has been very successful thanks to the good reviews that we get from them.

Adding The House of Tours we hire Alonso Esquivel which is a expert tour guide and he works with us in the office so we can offer anything you need in La Fortuna, we have an office in downtown La Fortuna where we meet our guest so you don’t have to go around looking your property just get to our office and we will guide you to your place.
