Renovated Early 1800s Greek Revival Style Farmhouse

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,900 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6

We have a family getaway in the Berkshires that we also rent. Set on 2 acres in the Stockbridge hamlet of Glendale, the house is conveniently located - just a short walk to the Norman Rockwell Museum, Chesterwood House and Botanical Gardens. The sunny 1st floor features a living room with fireplace open to the well-equipped kitchen, the dining room, a den with daybed, and the master suite with dressing area and bath. The 2nd floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. All rooms have hardwood floors (many contain the original floors) except the bathroom floors which are tiled. We updated both bathrooms with a 'vintage modern' aesthetic and furnished the rooms with a mix of antiques and contemporary pieces.

We arrived a bit early and the housekeeper was just finishing up. The photos do not do this beautiful home justice!!! It was so very clean and tidy. We chatted with her for a bit and she filled us in on some places to eat, things to do.

The beds were comfortable and the master suite was AMAZING. All linens were of exceptional quality and fresh smelling. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare a meal.

The owner was very friendly and prompt with her replies to my emails.

I highly suggest staying here if this is the area you are traveling to!!!

The house was centrally located, internet, nice kitchen, comfortable bed (the one on the main floor), great shower, nice back yard, etc. Highly recommend.

Had everything we needed and, super owner to deal with, too!

  • 5 of 5

We were at this lovely old house for a long weekend - we met there from all different directions to explore the area a little bit and just spend time together. The owner is super at communicating exactly what is there, the layout, etc. as well as having many pages of guides on what to do, good places to eat, and even hiking routes!

The house is very clean and all the provided bedding and towels are high quality. We chose to cook/eat "in" one evening just so we had more time to visit with each other and were amazed at how well-equipped the kitchen was.

We also enjoyed the location; as mentioned, it is close to many towns, restaurants, and attractions.

We used our time to the fullest touring, shopping, eating and exploring what was around, and saw a lot, however, we easily could have spent more time there - there is much more to see and do (even more beginning in May; a few of the things we asked about were somewhat seasonal, May - October).

I have no hesitation in recommending this house for a fun getaway! We were all comfortable...

Great House, Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house for a week in July, 2015. The house had all the amenities of home, was exactly as described on the website, and was a perfect haven to return to after a busy day of hiking, kayaking, antiquing, museum hopping, attending performances at the Tanglewood Festival, Shakespeare Theater, Williamstown Theater Festival, and generally doing all the stuff one does in the Berkshires. The house is close to everything and the owner takes really good care of her guests. We could not recommend it more highly.

Ultra Charming Berkshire getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised at how cozy this house was, yet big enough for two families to stay together. Beautiful design aesthetic throughout the rooms. The day bed room was perfect for our two little kids and the master is huge and inviting. The house is fully stocked with much more than most houses we have rented and the owner was pleasant and very accommodating.

The house is centrally located in the heart of the Berkshires. We spent our days snowboarding just 1/2 hour from Jiminy Peak, 15 from Butternut, and Bousquet is just a few minutes away. And spent our nights eating at the great restaurants in Stockbridge, West Stockbridge, Lenox and Great Barrington. Norman Rockwell museum just down the road is an american treasure, while antique stores and quaint browse around stores are nearby as well.

Highly recommend this house for a Berkshire getaway.

Our family really felt at home here!

  • 5 of 5

This house was exactly as it was described, and we were not disappointed! Every amenity was provided, the house was clean and tidy, and the owner was thoughtful in calling the day after we arrived to see if we had any questions or there was anything we needed.

I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives!
